Stitch Fix is a personal styling service. When you sign up, you take an in-depth survey of your sizes, your style, and your pricing preferences. After choosing when you’d like to receive your delivery, your stylist handpicks five items based on your preferences. The fee for this service is $20, and that includes free shipping and free returns. And if you keep any of the items they send you, you get to deduct the $20 fee from the total. (If you keep all five items, you also get a 25% discount!)

My items are reflective of my style and price preferences, so your Fix may be completely different.

First Impressions

Let's take a look at this month's selections, shall we?

What's Inside This Month's Fix

Grace Jumpsuit by Skies Are Blue, Size 3x — Retail Value $78.00

I usually try to end the review with my favorite piece, but this month I couldn't resist featuring my number one of the bunch, this Skies Are Blue jumpsuit. Torey was excited about sending this to me too and I can see why! Can you believe I almost sent this back? I actually had listed it as being returned and emailed Stitch Fix asking if they could charge me it-- I just fell so deeply in love. The fit on this jumpsuit is one of the best I have ever seen! The fabric has the perfect amount of stretch-- and how could I refuse this animal print? I love the collar, the retro two pocket chest, the cinched waist, and the not too baggy legs. I truly felt like this piece was made with me in mind. This jumpsuit is incredibly comfortable and can easily be worn all year long. I opted to do some simple, but fun styling by pairing this number with my go-to acrylic checkerboard earrings from Fairly Odd Shop with some white loafers from Just Fab. I feel quirky and effortlessly cool, but you could amp up the sass in some open-toed platforms, big chunky silver hoops, and a faux leather biker jacket for a night on the town. Another option for the office would be the jumpsuit with a cardigan and flats.

Shellie Knit Cropped Jumpsuit by Nine Britton, Size 3x — Retail Value $58.00

Torey chose yet another adorable jumpsuit with this Nine Britton number. I love that it has such abstract dots-- gives it a bit of a unique and eccentric vibe. I also appreciate that this piece is in black and white-- this makes it that much more versatile! Certainly, this is a sleeveless jumpsuit and ideal for warmer weather, but you can easily layer this item. I love the idea of wearing this with a bright avocado green turtleneck underneath and a thick knit cardigan over top. How about for pattern clashing pairing this cutie with a black and striped turtleneck or t-shirt even? The fit on this piece is roomy with lots of stretch, so all this layering is do-able. I opted to style this with my warm-weather daydreams in mind by topping this outfit off with yellow Vans low tops and acrylic flower power earrings from Miss60sShop.

Jackie Fine Gauge Two Pocket Cardigan by 41 Hawthorn, Size 2x— Retail Value $44.00

Bring a softer side to these chilly winter months with a pinky-orange cardigan. The beauty of a cardigan like this is it isn't too thin or thick, hits right below the waist, and it has pockets (perfect for cough drops and Kleenex tissues this time of year)!  I love it paired with the Nine Britton jumpsuit, but I think this would look absolutely charming with a pair of high waist skinny jeans, a striped shirt or button-down blouse, and mules for the office or even a Sunday brunch. This will complement a number of ensembles!

Amney Knit Midi Dress by Nine Britton, Size 3x  — Retail Value $54.00

You will be bringing in the sassy and sultry this holiday season in this number! This dress is made from the loveliest, butter-soft, stretch cotton fabric. It feels so comfortable and easy to wear! I love the cut on this dress too. It could be a simply little black dress, but the attention to details in the fit make it standout. The long sleeves, square neckline, slightly ruched sides, and the front pointed leg slit aren't too excessive and work well together. This dress is vampy, but can be worn easily to any holiday get together you are invited to this season-- and throughout the year. I styled this with leopard print booties and multiple circle hoop earrings for simple, but stunning touches. Save this dress for Valentine's Day and pair it with your favorite heels and faux fur coat. Your date will certainly swoon!

Kirsty Peekaboo Knit Top by Nine Britton, Size 3x— Retail Value $38.00

Wow, another killer Nine of Britton piece this month! I was so tempted to keep this top along with the Grace Jumpsuit, but with all the holiday gifts I still wanted to buy others, I stopped myself. What a stellar shirt this is, though! The fabric is similar to the Amney dress by them, super soft and stretchy. I love the mock turtleneck and short sleeves along with the not over the top sexy peekaboo slit! It is cute and exposes skin, but not too much. I decided to wear this with my favorite purple sequin skirt from Eloquii 's post-holiday sale last year along with some out-of-this-world silver ankle booties! I definitely upped the glam in this outfit, but this top would look equally exquisite with a cute plaid mini skirt and chunky, platform Mary Janes or a baggy pair of jeans and sneakers! It is that good!

The Verdict

My stylist, Torey, truly nailed it this month again! I absolutely loved every single item she selected for me!  Obviously, my favorite was the Skies Are Blue jumpsuit. She just gets me! I truly feel like my stylist, Torey, and I collaborate well together. I feel like my feedback is heard and that she takes it into account each time she creates a Fix for me. She shows it in her personal notes and the selections themselves-- I am just so impressed! She not only reads my direct feedback, but also what I "bookmark" or list as a favorite on the site, and even what I post on my Pinterest and Instagram. I appreciate her attention to detail!  I can't say it enough-- provide ample feedback! Don't be afraid to address your preferences to your stylist.  This all makes it easier for them to curate items for your dream wardrobe. Keep in mind too-- you also have the ability to personally select pieces for your Stitch Fix as well! This is an awesome feature if you are a shopping fiend like yours truly! Did you also know that Stitch Fix now allows you to shop on their site for clothing items, accessories, foundation garments, and also shoes without getting a monthly Stitch Fix sent to you? This is a wonderful option if you aren't interested in the monthly Fix. You can check out their site and buy their in house brands outright! Considering this month was such a success, I am extremely eager to see what Torey sends my way next month-- are you too?

Can you still get these pieces if you sign up today? Stitch Fix curates its Fixes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. What you get might not be the same as what I got, but you also might get something that fits your style and body even better than the looks above! Sign up and see what they choose for you!

Value Breakdown: This personal styling service has a $20 styling fee with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $272. The cost of each item is listed alongside it, above, but if I choose to keep at least 5 items, I get a 25% discount. The $20 cost of the box would also be applied to the purchase, meaning I’d end up spending $184 for the whole box. Ultimately, that’s about a 31% discount!

I wish I could get this level of service from Stitch Fix. They have a very, very hard time understanding that I need petites – not just in pants, but in long sleeved shirts and anything with pockets. And yet, I’m a 1X. There are a LOT of people with my proportions, so I’m tired of hearing that I’m too hard to fit.

That definitely does sound frustrating, Kelly! Especially providing as much feedback as you have. I would say last ditch effort is to end them your Instagram link if you have one. I feel like some folks understand better visually, but I am totally with you on how they should be able to accommodate you!

I have to ask a technical question. How do you go to the bathroom in the jumpsuit? Do you have to peel off the shirt part?

Nicole Rieder

Julia, yup, when I wear a jumpsuit I am practically naked in the stall. It isn’t the greatest in that respect for sure, but I sure do love jumpsuits when I am not on the toilet! hahaha. This time of year it is a bit brutal to wear them since bathrooms tend to be a bit chilly. But to answer your question, yes.
