The MSA Team’s Subscription Box Wishlist For Santa This Year

Community Subscription Wishlist

With the holiday season in full gear, we thought it would be fun to ask the MSA team to share which subscription boxes are on their wish list and why. The team picked their favorites and here's what they had to say!

MSA Content Team Subscription Wish List

Wildgrain - Picked By Lindsey Morse

Price: $89 per month.

What's Inside The Box?: Each box contains an assortment of pastries, pasta, and sourdough bread. All items come ready to bake and do not require any additional prep. You can expect items like 3 loaves of bread, 2 packs of hand-cut pasta, and 4 individual pastry items, like croissants.

Lindsey says: "Wildgrain is a subscription that sends par-baked sourdough loaves that you bake at home. I reviewed it a few months ago and was sourdough-bread-bowled over. The loaves are ready to eat in about 20 minutes, and the taste is awesome. Wildgrain’s bread is crusty, warm, and tangy. It’s just like the sourdough bread from an artisan bakery. At $89 per box, it’s on the pricey side, and I haven’t been able to justify a full-time subscription on my own dime. I’m currently only allowing myself to order one-off boxes for special occasions and when I have company. It’s on my wish list, though! As a carboholic, I would love to keep my freezer stocked up with ready-to-bake sourdough 24/7."

Norlii - Picked By Kai Siobhan

You can expect to receive items like a "Scandinavian Christmas" tabletop book, a bowl from Broste Copenhagen, gourmet marshmallows from The Mallows, paper ornaments from Broste Copenhagen, and a calendar candle from Broste Copenhagen.

Kai says: "Norlii seems so hygge and comfy-cozy; I'm not that familiar with Scandinavia, so everything seems so cool. Plus, Linda answers questions super quickly."

Goddess Provisions - Picked By Samantha Sendor

all contents

Price: $33 per month.

What's Inside The Box?: Each box has a mix of 5-7 full-size products that are tailored to nurture your inner goddess and help grow your spiritual practice. You can expect to receive items like crystals, aromatherapy, natural beauty products, superfood snacks, and spiritual tools.

Samantha says: "I would love to receive Goddess Provisions! Each month, I anxiously await Brittany and Abby’s GP reviews; its new-age lifestyle inclusions radiate good vibes, and I feel like this one is just a box of earthly positivity. I sent a box to my auntie that lives in Wales for Galentine’s earlier in the year, but have yet to take the dive for myself!"

Curateur - Picked By Kelly Wright

curateur fall 2021 box and poncho, candle, and other items around it

Price: $99.99 quarterly.

What's Inside The Box?: Each season's box contains at least 5 statement staples (fashion, beauty, and lifestyle) that are valued at over $400. You can expect to receive items like a Parrish LA Stevie Poncho, Naaem Khan Rose Candle, Nuori Vital Repair Serum, Fekkai’s Shea Butter Intense Oil, Jillian Dempsey’s Kohl Black Eyeliner, Oma the Label Abuja Bracelet, and Oma the Label Timepiece Bracelet.

Kelly says: "I keep looking at the Curateur subscription and going back and forth on whether I should subscribe or not. A lot of the stuff in the boxes is totally my style, plus I love the online shop they have with discounts for subscribers. There are a couple sweaters in there that I've been ogling over!"

Silk & Sonder - Picked By Sanna

Price: $20 per month

What's Inside The Box?: Start each month with a new  journal that includes theme-focused pages, recipe pages, and a month’s worth of planning pages (which are filled with to-do lists, meal plans, mind and body plans, calendar dates, etc.).

Sanna says: "Every so often I buy a new journal and I think to myself, Now is the time that I’m going to get organized. I keep all my notes, appointments and to-do lists on my phone but there’s something about putting it down on paper that’s so appealing. It’s just not something I keep up with for long. But I feel like the S+S journal might change that. After reading Tabitha’s review, it seems there’s the perfect mix of structured prompts and open-ended-ness that might finally keep me engaged with journaling.

Viome - Picked By Me

viome probiotic supplements and gut health testing

Price: Starts at $59.95 per month for basic plan. Premium plan costs $199 per month.

What's Inside The Box?: A basic plan comes with 1 gut intelligence test per year and monthly shipments of personalized probiotics and prebiotics. A premium plan comes with 2 gut intelligence tests per year, monthly shipments of personalized probiotics and prebiotics, and monthly shipments of customized vitamins, minerals, amino acids, herbs, and food extracts.

I'd love to try out Viome! The concept of having a personalized symbiotic is intriguing to me and I think it would be helpful to have blood and stool testing done to gain further insights into your own digestive health. I also think it's awesome that Viome provides you with an expansive list of foods to avoid or include in your diet to ensure that your gut health is optimal. Most other probiotic subscriptions don't come near the level of customization that Viome has to offer which is why I think it's worth a try.

YOUR TURN! What’s on your subscription wish list? We’d love to hear it!

I’ve been very disappointed in the last few Norlii boxes, and I canceled. It just wasn’t worth the price when compared to other home subs. It made me sad, because I really liked the concept, but It’s a bit skimpy IMO.

My wishlist seems so long this year! I was subbed to a lot (a lot!!) of boxes through 2020 but had to cancel a lot at the beginning of 2021 and I miss some of the ones I used to get (like The Detox Box from Detox Market) and now have a list of new ones too.

I think Bake, Eat, Love and ArtSnacks are at the top, but I would be excited to get a stationery box from Nicely Noted or Snailbox too.

There are too many and I want them all. 😂

Viome sounds so interesting! I love the concept but have had not the best luck with probiotics in the past, which makes sense with what Dr.Cassie mentioned. Maybe one day!

Enjoyed this list! 😊

Dr. Cassie

I have a PhD in microbiology and just wanted to come here to say that most of the bacteria used in probiotics are randomly selected (historically) and while many likey have benefits (the evidence that the ones used do is iffy), there’s little evidence they can actually colonize your gut long term. Now, if they work for you great – keep at them. However, always approach probiotics skeptically.
