FaceTory is a monthly beauty box that's perfect for people interested who love (or want to try out) sheet masks! The company aims to provide its members with the latest cult-favorite products, essences, and ingredients.

This is a review of the 7 Lux subscription level ($19.90 per month + free U.S. shipping), which includes 7 sheet masks and a bonus item every month.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out our editorial guidelines to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

The sheet masks come packaged in a cheerful yellow and pink bubble mailer- my eyes definitely enjoyed the bright colors of the packaging and the sheet masks inside. To me, sheet masks are supposed to be fun, and I think Facetory does a good job with their branding to keep things lighthearted and joyful- the outside packaging saying "Woo Hoo!" is exactly how I feel when my subscription box is delivered to me. The subscription also comes with an info sheet detailing the products inside so you can learn a little more about the masks you're receiving. Now let's dive into them.

The Breakdown – What’s Inside The Box

Facetory Woah That H2O 2-Step Sheet Mask - Retail Value $3

I actually love multi-step sheet masks, so I was excited about this. The first step is applying the hydrating ampoule, and step two is following up with the sheet mask. This is packed with loads of hyaluronic acid along with jasmine flower extract, ceramides, and lotus extract. My skin soaked this up, and the mask was comfortable to wear while it hydrated my face.

Facetory Moon Velvet Moisturizing Cream Mask - Retail Value $3

I love sheet masks with a cream essence- they always feel a little more luxurious to use. This one from Facetory didn't match the expectation I held for this masl. It was a cream essence, but that essence wasn't evenly distributed throughout the sheet mask. The sheet mask material felt a little papery, so this wasn't the plushest mask I have ever worn, either. Overall, I wouldn't seek this mask out again, but I appreciate that this is made with ceramides, shea butter, and jojoba oil to really nourish my skin.

no:hj Skin Maman Squalane Essence Mask - Estimated Value $3.42 (buy a set of 10 for $34.20)

This mask was a star because it made me feel like an absolute star- impromptu sheet mask selfie photoshoot and everything. I wasn't expecting this to have gold foil on one side, but it made me feel absolutely fabulous once this was on my face. My skin loved this too- it's made with hinoki cypress extract, bamboo, and squalane, and it was a really calming sheet mask to wear. Facetory said this sheet mask was Instagram-worthy, and they weren't wrong; that's exactly what I did.

Yadah Daily Vegi Wine Mask - Retail Value $3.50

I think this may have been my second favorite mask this month- the mask had some fun ingredients like fermented grape extract (ie the wine theme), and it also had hyaluronic acid and resveratrol. The essence felt a little slimy, but I mean that in a "this feels awesome" way. The thin bio-cellulose material hugged my face while I was wearing it, and when I paired this sheet mask with the massage function of my PMD tool that came in my Ipsy Glam Bag X, my face experienced absolute bliss.

Detoskin Rooibos Tea Time Mask - Retail Value $3

This mask is like a cup of tea for your face thanks to the rooibos and cherry blossom it's formulated with, and those ingredients are paired with the more standard niacinamide and shea butter. It was really nourishing to my skin and a comfortable mask to wear, and I enjoyed the 20 minutes I spent with this on my face while I read my book and sipped an actual cup of tea.

Farmskin Olive Firming Sheet Mask - Retail Value $3

This sheet mask had a really soft material thanks to the cotton and eucalyptus it is made with, and I enjoyed wearing it. This had a creamy essence like the Moon Velvet mask, but I liked this one a lot more. The star ingredient in this mask is olive leaf extract, which is rich in unsaturated fatty acids, but it also has algae extract and hyaluronic acid. When I removed the mask and massaged in the remaining essence, my skin seemed calm and hydrated- which is always the goal when I do a sheet mask.

Blingpop Shea Butter Healing Nail Mask - Retail Value $3

I always forget to take care of my cuticles, so I love masks like these to help me keep the skin hydrated and stave off hangnails. I used to not love hand or nail masks because I am a millennial who wants to always be able to use her phone, but then I remembered there is no rule that said I had to do both hands at the same time. Now, I do one hand at a time so the other hand can stay free, and I do these hand masks every chance I get. This mask in particular is like ten little covers for each finger that contains shea butter, ceramide NP, sweet cherry extract, and coconut oil. It's one size fits all, so they were a little loose on my pinky and a little tight on my thumb, but my nailbeds definitely felt nourished when I was done with this mask. I would definitely be happy if Facetory continued to send non-traditional masks in this subscription.

Son & Park Beauty Water, 60 mL - Retail Value $8

I've used this beauty water before and enjoyed it- I was excited to pull it out of the package. This is a cleansing micellar water that also tones and preps your skin for makeup thanks to the rose and papaya waters along with about a dozen or so different fruit oils and botanical extracts. I have used this on and off for more than three years and I've never had issues with sensitivity or redness, and I am happy to have this back on my vanity.

Value – Was This Box Worth It?

The Cost: $19.90 + free US shipping

Value Breakdown: This box costs $19.90 + free shipping, which means that each of the 8 items in the box has an average cost of $2.48. Everything in the box added up to $29.92, which is $10 more than the cost of the box. That's obviously not a crazy high value, but I don't think it's unreasonable considering how low cost and affordable sheet masks are to start with.

Key Takeaways

I really look forward to getting my Facetory subscription, and I like how every month there's a mask that seems to stand out or be a little different than your normal mask. The star for me this month was definitely the gold foil of the no:hj mask, but I did really like the performance of the Yadah mask and the practicality of the nail mask (more of all three in future months, please!). I liked that the bonus item this month was the Son and Park beauty water, too- I don't mind that an item is something I've tried before when it's a pretty awesome product. With a sheet mask subscription like this, you're really paying for a slight discount and a great curation. If you use sheet masks at least twice a week (or even more frequently, if you're like me), then this is a subscription worth checking out.
