Beachly is a quarterly seasonal box for women or men, stocked with apparel, accessories, and lifestyle items that have a beach-forward vibe and keep you feeling close to the ocean even if you're landlocked. Each box costs $99 but will have a value of over $250 featuring 6-8 items from well-known brands like Aloha, Havaianas, Roxy, Billabong, Nixon, DIFF Eyewear, and more.

This is a review of their women's box.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

Beachly always arrives in a very pretty box in blue and coral. When you first sign up for Beachly, you'll fill out a few preferences to tailor your box to you. They also take your location into account, so you don't have to worry about getting a tank top in the middle of winter in the midwest. This info is saved to your account for future curations.

The Items

The Beach People The Twin Palms Cardigan - Listed Value $119

This sweater is downright thick! And so oversized and cozy! It is a very chic medium grey and features an oversized embroidery of palm trees and the brand's log on the back. I always appreciate a cardigan with pockets too! I actually took this sweater down to Tennessee over Thanksgiving because it is pretty much the ultimate driving sweater. Oversized, cozy, and not restrictive in the arms. It also arrived in a cute vacuum sealed bag that is reuasable!

The Sunray Beanie by Virginia Wolf - Listed Value $25

I have a rather large noggin. So hats always give me a little pause in boxes. Luckily, this one is thick yet super stretchy, and something about the adorably oversized faux-fur pom and embroidered sun really appeals to me. It is a very good yellow for fall and winter too, adding a little bit of color to an otherwise drab season of clothing. It is 100% acrylic and wonderfully squishy.

The Island Time Slippers by Island Haus Co. - Listed Value $49

Slippers are a must in my very old and drafty house with its cold wood floors. And these are cushy and warm while still being more of a sandal style. I wear a size 9.5 in most shoes and have a narrower foot and length-wise, these fit well. They were a little tight at first (which is really unusual for my feet) but with a few wears, they stretched to a perfect fit. I love that the sole is waterproof, meaning I can take the dogs out or grab takeout off the porch without putting on real shoes.

I am not a big fan of feet on the internet, but I hope including Teddy makes this foot shot less weird and still shows you hot these fit!

The Coconut Sands Shell Candle by Tiny Bandit - Listed Value $20

Tiny Bandit is one of my favorite candlemakers and I discovered them in a different box years and years ago. They burn so evenly and the fragrance power is off the charts! This one smells like coconut but in a sexy way rather than a sunscreen sort of way. And this is coming from someone who is really particular about "beach" scents! Inside is an assortment of shells and rose quartz chunks which make for an especially beautiful burning experience. I only wish this candle were larger!

Hydrating Body Lotion by Pirette, 8 oz - Retail Value $38

Again, pretty picky about beach smells. But this lotion passes the test! It has notes of coconut, amber, and woods and the whole effect is really warm and sunny. Another note listed is surf wax and while I have never surfed, there is absolutely a waxy, creamy note here that is sure to spark nostalgia for some! The formula itself is light by very effective, absorbing in a snap and leaving behind softness. The main moisturizers here are coconut oil, macadamia seed oil, and shea.

The Pierside Pillow in Palm (or Sea Urchin) by Sewing Down South - Listed Value $49

This pillow was really small and it is honestly the only thing in this box that I thought was total filler. We actually had a donation pickup and I totally forgot to physically measure this pillow (sorry!) but I would guess it was at or under 12 inches x 12 inches. Which is very small. Here is a brand shot for reference:

For fans of Southern Charm, this brand is from one of the stars, a guy named Craig Conover. I don't really have a reference point since I don't watch this show, but maybe his fans will appreciate this pillow more. For me, send me a full-size throw pillow, or don't bother.

Verdict

This Beachly curation was really awesome. I actually think this brand shines even brighter in the colder months somehow. They really do such a great job of "winterizing" a box with a more summery theme. Aside from the pillow, this box was a hit for me! I loved the sweater and slippers, as well as the super cute beanie and lotion. And a candle from one of my fave candle companies? You are speaking my launguage. I will admit that I dislike the super high values assigned to items made specifically for this box, but even with those numbers this box was super enjoyable and will delight beach lovers for sure.

Value Breakdown: At $103.95 ($99.00 + $4.95 shipping) for this box, each of the 6 items has an average cost of $17.33.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

Do you know what size the beach people twin palms cardigan was? I want to purchase it separately but don’t know what size. Your review makes me need that cardigan lol

LEGO

I LOVED last seasons Beachly box but this was the worst subscription box I have ever received! The cardigan is was too fat and chunky and just hangs so awkward on the body. It adds so much bulk and unless your are super skinny it will make you look so much larger. It also ends right across the bum making your rear look enormous – and I am only 5’4″. The teeny tiny pillow would serve absolutely no purpose other than a filler for their box. What was up with that thing even being in there??? The hat is cute but it’s a funky mustardy color that looks awful with blonde hair. The house shoes are cute but will not stay on your feet because the material is so slick making your heel constantly slide off the side in the back. Sitting or standing still so they don’t make you trip and you can take cute foot photos (if there is such a thing) will work but not walking in them. Very dangerous to try and walk in for sure! My box was missing the candle and I got no response from customer service to get it sent to out. The Pirette lotion is the only thing worth a flip in the box and I will say I do love the scent of it and how it feels on the skin but that lotion sure wasn’t worth the $99 for the rest of the bummer items in the box and the missing candle.

Is the pillow water proof / resistant? I could see it going on the porch if so.

I don’t think the pillow is waterproof or weather resistant because the tag doesn’t state that and neither does the enclosed booklet.

Is the cardigan 100% cotton? I thought it was meant to be cotton but it seems like it is acrylic? The retail is $119 on an acrylic sweater? I think not.

I found the cardigan on a resale site; it’s:Made with a premium blend of plush acrylic fabrics with an open front neckline and embroidered palm detail on the back. Super soft.

The pillow looks like a good size to stick behind a big dining room/desk chair if someone needs more support. I didn’t realize it was a cardigan. Awesome.
Do you remember the Pirette Dry body oil from before in the box? That stuff was amazing and the brand is now sold at Ulta online. This box seems to have much better value this time around.

Great informative review. Thanks, Megan!

Agree! Appreciate the honest and detailed review. Is the lettering on the sweater white or the same color as the sweater? It looks white in the promotional photos, but colored in your’s.
