If you're anything like me, one of the things you love about subscription boxes is that they give you the ability to save big on some fantastic beauty products. Along with being addicted to subscription boxes, I have been addicted to Sephora for quite a while. I wish I could tell you that I was able to resist their sales, but the truth is I have been looking forward to this since September. MSA readers have long been a favorite of the curated Sephora Favorites sets, so I rounded up all of the ones I've reviewed that are still available- and I'll explain why you should think about adding them to your cart.

Sale Details

Before we dive into some of the sets that are available, let's talk about the details of the sale. The discount is tiered depending on your Beauty Insider level. If you're unfamiliar, anyone can be a Beauty Insider- all you need to do is sign up with an email address and you'll immediately be able to start earning points (learn more about that system here) while getting a 10% discount during the sale. If you spend a minimum of $350 during the calendar year from January 1st to December 31st, you will be upgraded to VIB which will give you a 15% discount during the sale. For both Beauty Insiders and VIB, the sale runs from November 9th to November 15th. If you've spent $1000 during the calendar year, then your status with Sephora is that of a VIB Rouge. VIB Rouge members get 20% off during this sale, and they also get early access and can begin shopping as soon as November 5th. No matter what level you are in the Beauty Insider program, code YAYHOLIDAY will snag you your discount.

What Do We Recommend?

One of the things I love about Sephora is their limited edition curated kits, branded under the name "Sephora Favorites." Every Sephora Favorites kit will always offer products at a cheaper price than retail value- and that's before you apply your beauty insider discount. Let's take a look at some of the sets that are still available!

Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Lip Balm - Retail Price $30, Currently on Sale for $21

Sale Price: VIB Rouge members will pay $16.80, VIB members will pay $17.85, and Beauty Insiders will pay $18.90.

Value: My math added up to $64.64

Why I Liked It: It comes with a full-size Pat Mcgrath lip balm that retails for $36 by itself- plus four other hydrating lip products! If you love having hydrated, smooth lips, this kit is full of products to help you get it. Since this is on sale as it is, I do expect this to sell out during the sale so grab it fast if you're wanting it.

Sephora Favorites Bestsellers Perfume Sampler Set - Retail Price $68

open box showing the perfume samples nestled in plastic with black voucher and the top of the box displayed behind it

Sale Price: VIB Rouge members will pay $54.40, VIB members will pay $57.80, and Beauty Insiders will pay $61.20.

Value: My math added up to $123.85 for the lowest possible combination and $147.85 for the highest combination possible.

Why I Liked It: I'm kind of obsessed with the Sephora sets that come with a voucher that allows you to redeem a full-size product at no extra charge- especially because Sephora now allows online voucher redemption, which is a new option. You receive $48.85 worth of perfume samples in this set, and the voucher will let you pick out a full-size bottle from a collection of some of Sephora's best-selling perfumes. I ended up redeeming my voucher for a bottle of Marc Jacobs Perfect- which perfume will you choose?

Sephora Favorites Healthy Hair Must-Haves Kit - Retail Price $38

Sale Price: VIB Rouge members will pay $29.60, VIB members will pay $32.30, and Beauty Insiders will pay $34.20.

Value: My math added up to $110.30

Why I Liked It: I'm a big fan of amika hair products, and this came with a full-size bottle of their Flash Instant Shine Mask that should work for just about every hair type (if you have dry hair like me, I recommend mixing it into another deep conditioner from the kit). I discovered the Moroccanoil Leave-In Conditioner through this set, and I'm strongly considering grabbing a full-size bottle during the sale because my curly hair liked it so much. If you're looking to help keep your hair healthy and strong, this set has a variety of products for you to try out and love.

Sephora Favorites Black-Owned Beauty Set - Retail Price $35

group shot with products standing in front of the box

Sale Price: VIB Rouge members will pay $28, VIB members will pay $29.75, and Beauty Insiders will pay $31.50.

Value: My math added up to $126

Why I Liked It: There's a lot to love about this Sephora-Favorites set. It comes with a full-size Fenty Mascara and Pat McGrath lipstick, and it also has other hair care products and skincare- and all of them are from black-owned beauty brands. Plus, the purchase of this set allows Sephora to donate $150,000 to the 15 Percent Pledge non-profit.

Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Shine Lip Set - Retail Price $34Sephora Favorites Give Me Some Shine Lip Set Review

Sale Price: VIB Rouge members will pay $27.20, VIB members will pay $28.90, and Beauty Insiders will pay $30.60.

Value: My math added up to $83.35

Why I Liked It: This set comes with THREE full-size lip products from Fenty, Milk, and Huda Beauty, and has an additional two mini products from Pat McGrath and Nars. All of them will leave your lips shiny, and it features both tinted and clear colors so you can pick your perfect lip poison.

Sephora Favorites Fresh Picks Perfume Sampler Set - Retail Price $25

Sale Price: VIB Rouge members will pay $20, VIB members will pay $21.25, and Beauty Insiders will pay $22.50.

Value: According to my math, this set comes with $29.13 worth of perfume samples- and you get a voucher for a travel-size perfume that retails between $29-$35.

Why I Liked It: Are you looking to add a new perfume to your fragrance collection, but want something at a more affordable price point? This perfume sampler set is for you. Like the larger set, you get samples of perfume to try, and you also get a voucher for a travel-sized perfume bottle. When trying this set I fell in love with the YSL Mon Paris scent, but this set also features perfumes from Nest, Chloe, Floral Street, and Armani.

I got the hair must have kit a couple months ago. Absolutely incredible. When I look at these sets, I think…. what is good for me? Who can I give the other stuff too? My daughter and my best friend are first on my list. Depends on the product who it will work for better. These two are great because they don’t have an issue if I try a product first and send them the rest if it isn’t a winner for me. Then if it isn’t something for any of us, I save it. Every few months or so I take a share basket into work and let them go at it. They love it and so do I.

Thanks for bringing this to my attention. I will probably get the Black-owned set. I am on my second sample of the Shani Darden serum and it made my laugh lines practically disappear! I used SR A+ but my bottle ran out. I also want to try the Bread oil. I didn’t pick it in my last IGB+ for some reason. Lastly, I love lip products so this sounds like a great kit.

Hi Jody E 🙂
The black-owned beauty set is such a great curation! I used the bread oil on my hair this morning and it’s like my curls instantly became springier. The Pat McGrath lipstick is stunning, too. If you grab this I would love to know your thoughts once you have it in-hand!

I really love the Sephora favorites kits…. something about trying a variety of products at a discount really appeals to me. I would love it if they branched out the full size redemption certificates to other products (so far, just mascara and perfume, right?)

BTW, I’ve been missing fellow reviewer Taryn!

Hey Snow! I’m right there with you with loving the Sephora Favorites set. How fun would a moisturizer sample set be where the voucher redeems for a full-size? And we miss Taryn too! Taryn stepped back in October to focus on family, but we hope she comes back to write about a few of her favorite boxes in the future. You’ll notice most of her reviews have shifted to other writers. For example, Carlos is reviewing Little Feminist, Abby is reviewing BarkBox, and Naomi is doing BeautyFix.
