Lookfantastic Beauty Box is a beauty subscription box from the U.K. that promises at least six hand-picked items. Each box includes skincare, haircare, cosmetics, and body products curated around a theme. It's available to U.S. customers for $19.00 per month with free shipping. They also frequently release limited edition curated sets.

This is a review of the Lookfantastic Glow Edit Limited Edition Box, which is still available for purchase.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

First Impressions

pink look fantastic box

This limited edition Glow Edit came packaged in a signature pink Lookfantastic box, and it didn't come with anything else. Usually, I would expect to see an information sheet or booklet, but this box didn't come with one. I immediately eyed that set of Babor ampoules, though, and knew that would be the product I wanted to try first.

The Breakdown – What’s Inside This Limited Edition Box From Lookfantastic

Babor Perfect Glow Ampoule, 7 ct - Retail Value $39.95

I’m a big fan of Babor (did you see my Skinstore x Babor review?), and these perfect glow ampoules have a pearlescent sheen to them that I really dig. That sheen comes from what Babor calls “glow pigments,” and the formula also has peptides, sugar beet extract, and cacao extract. These glass ampoules come with plenty- when I was done applying them to my face, there was plenty left over for my neck and chest. Be careful when you snap the top off since you are dealing with glass (one time I was too overzealous and then had some small glass shards to deal with), but the hydration and radiance these gave my skin were definitely worth it.

Vita Liberata Body Blur Instant HD Skin Finish in Latte, 10 ml – Estimated Value $3.89 (buy the 100 ml version for $38.99)

This is described as a finishing moisturizer that will blur imperfections and reflect light for an HD finish, and it can be used on both your face and body. The shade Latte is the brand's medium shade, which means it's too deep for me. I don't mind it, though, because it is still completely wearable by mixing a bit in with my regular moisturizer. This would be awesome for highlighting collarbones or cheekbones or really any part of your body you want to glow, and I love that the first ingredient in the formula is aloe.

Lumene Nordic-C Fresh Glow Brightening Gel Mask, 15 ml - Estimated Value $2.49 (buy the 150 ml version for $24.99)

I am a fan of Lumene- I kinda wish they appeared more frequently in boxes considering the affordable price point. I am a sucker for a face mask, and this one was pretty nice. The vitamin C in this mask comes from multiple extracts of Nordic Cloudberry, and the formula also has vinegar, marigold, and castor seed oil. This mask was easy to apply and easy to rinse away, and the gel texture would feel pretty nice if you stuck it in the fridge before using it. I had fun applying it, and thought my skin looked nice when I rinsed it away, too.

Merci Handy Natural Deodorant in Namaste, 55 ml - Retail Value $12.00

I'm not the biggest fan of natural deodorants because I have held onto my aluminum formulas with a death grip after realizing in high school I had a fear of smelling bad, but this one was really nice to use. The gel texture really glided over my skin with no tugging, and it didn't leave behind any bothersome residue. I really like the purple packaging, and how this formula is free from alcohol and has a glycerin base (I think that's the reason this goes on clear!). I wish I could give you an idea of what this smelled like- Namaste is described as having a "scent so sweet, it feels like a mother's hug" which does not help anyone, and I annoyingly lack the ability to smell anything due to a recent bout with Covid. Performance-wise, though, this was a really solid natural deodorant.

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel It Takes Two in Sugar Fix, 15 ml – Retail Value $11.99

I love the concept of this dual-ended nail polish- one side is a pretty blue color, the other side is a top coat! I've been pretty strictly using nail stickers after falling in love with Dashing Diva through my Allure subscription, but this would be an awesome pedicure color for me. When you're holding the bottle to apply the polish there's definitely a noticeable weight a standard nail polish brush wouldn't have, but I didn't find that to be a hindrance. The formula had a nice consistency to it, and I would say two coats would be more than enough for full coverage.

REN Clean Skincare Ready Steady Glow AHA Tonic, 50 ml - Estimated Value $7.60 (buy the 250 ml version for $38)

I am a big fan of Ren- they're another skincare brand I would be happy to see more of in subscription boxes. This is an exfoliating toner made with lactic acid, willow bark extract, and citrus extracts, and it is very easy to overuse if you're like me and have sensitive skin. If your skin isn't sensitive I think you'll love the glow this vegan formula gives you, but for my skin I can only use it once or twice a week and sometimes have redness left behind on my cheeks when I am done applying it.

Value – Was This Box Worth It?

The Cost: $35 + free shipping

Cost Breakdown:

  • Babor: $17.95
  • Vita Liberata: $1.75
  • Lumene: $1.12
  • Merci: $5.39
  • Sally Hansen: $5.39
  • REN: $3.41

Everything in the box adds up to $77.89, which is a few dollars less than the promised $80 value but still results in more than a 50% discount on the products inside.

Key Takeaways

I thought this was a fun box from Lookfantastic that loosely focused on the Glow theme. The star, by far, is the Babor ampoules- if you're curious about trying them, you essentially get them at a discount and then everything else in the box for free. If the ampoules aren't calling your name, I don't think the rest of the products in the box will be enough to sway you to click "add to cart." You do save more than 50% off of retail price by purchasing this set, and I had fun trying new (to me) products from Lumene and Merci. All of the products except for the Ren toner in this box were new to me (while I have used Babor ampoules before, I tried a different type), and that's a little hard to get these days. Overall, I do recommend this set, but I don't know if it is for every single person out there.
