Bespoke Post is a monthly membership club that delivers high-quality lifestyle products from up-and-coming brands. It’s voted as one of the best men’s subscription boxes of 2021 by our readers and it’s a great box for women and couples as well.

When you sign up, there’s a quiz to determine your preferences and interests, then you’re matched with a new themed box every month. For $45 per month, each box promises at least $70 in retail value with items ranging from outdoor gear, barware, home, and kitchen goods, clothing, and more.

Unlike most subscription boxes, you get to preview your Bespoke Post box before it ships and you can easily swap for a different box or skip the month for no charge. You only pay for the months that interest you.

This is a review of the "Layers" box that is currently sold out as of this review.

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

First Impressions

Bespoke Post always has good presentation. This month the clothes came neatly packed in plastic bags inside a sharp paper bag. I appreciate that Bespoke has so many different sizes of boxes (and bags) to fit the item you ordered. Sleek, simple, and recognizable.

The box typically comes with a card to let you know what's inside and a little bit about each item. This one includes a note from your new flannel shirt on how to take care of it. Cute.

Line of Trade Summit Flannel Shirt - Retail Value $65

The weather here in Pennsylvania is having a hard time making up its mind. But recently we've had a couple days stay in the 60s and that's enough to get me excited for my favorite season: flannel season. "Layers" was a new option for the month of September (I think) and it's already sold out. So I'm glad I jumped at the opportunity because this flannel shirt is right in my wheelhouse. Shirts come in "Lake," "Mountain," and "Canyon." I really liked all the choices but went with "Lake" because it'll match all my other blue flannels. I saw that if you purchase the shirt directly – not by way of the subscription – there are more color options. I still would have chosen "Lake," but the other options would have been nice as part of the subscription. The flannel is great buttoned-up, open, with the arms rolled up, or off completely because it was in the 50s this morning but now it's 80. It's a tailored fit with resin buttons. The website says it's crafted from mid-weight cotton flannel that’s been brushed on both sides for that extra plush feel. I am very pleased with the flannel and cannot wait for the temperature to dip even further.

Note: "Layers" is currently sold out, but, interestingly, both items are available for individual purchase. If you're thinking about purchasing the shirt, make sure they have it in the size and color you want. Some are sold out.

Wren Marled Yarn Beanie - Listed Value $30

I'm a sucker for beanies because they are the only hats that fit my large head. I feel like I've been waiting an eternity for cooler temps. Now that it seems the weather has finally broke, it's almost time to put on the jeans, long sleeves, and beanies. This hat is by Wren, which I can only find on Bespoke Post's site. I'm guessing it's sort of their own brand. It's 100% acrylic; spun from two layers of 12-gauge marled yarn, according to the site. I enjoy the thick cuff around the ears and the neutral gray color. (It also comes in blue.) It's very snug. I have two kinds of beanies: those I wear working or camping and those I try to keep nice. I think this one will go in the latter category since it goes well with all my black coats.

Verdict

Normally I can't decide what to pick for this sub, but I'm so pumped up for Autumn that I didn't hesitate at all in choosing "Layers." Of all the boxes I've chosen from Bespoke Post, this one was the most "me." Both items are something I would buy. In fact, this shirt is so similar to one I already own that my wife hasn't even noticed I'm wearing a new one. Maybe I shouldn't brag about that. The point is these items were immediately comfortable. Not only in their fit, but how they fit into my wardrobe. That is what is so nice about a subscription like this. You can pick what you want and scroll past what you don't. And if there is absolutely nothing speaking to your sense of style, you can pause the subscription until there is. I was very pleased with the options, items, and delivery of this month's box/bag.

Let's Talk About Value

The items of this box clock in at $95. That's more than twice the cost of the subscription. There is something interesting about Bespoke Post making their own clothes, telling you what they are worth, and then comparing that price to the cost of their subscription. However, if you wanted these items, they would really cost you $95 and subscribers are getting them for $50 less. Can't argue with that. With the money I saved, I'm going to buy my annual pair of winter slippers.

To Wrap Up

Can you still get this box if you sign up today?  No, the "Layers" box is sold out at the time of this post. You can purchase the items individually or you can pick from one of several rotating boxes. Sometimes boxes are restocked. So keep your eyes open or sign up here to be notified if this box comes back.
