My Ipsy Glam Bag June 2021 Review

Included is a product card that lists the products in your Glam Bag and their retail value.

Each month, Ipsy subscribers get a makeup bag in addition to their items. This month's theme is "Do You," and the bag serves up major 80s vibes with a patchwork of fun graphic images.

CLIV Max Hyaluronic Propolis Foaming Cleanser, 30 ml - Estimated Value $5.60

CLIV Premium is an all-new brand to me, and I have to say, I absolutely love their Max Hyaluronic Propolis Foaming Cleanser. It feels absolutely wonderful on my skin, and after rinsing, my skin feels fresh and clean, without feeling dry or stripped. It's the perfect cleanser for when your skin feels greasy at the end of the day. The texture is a slightly moisturizing, luxurious foam that works into a nice lather and rinses easily. The product is hypoallergenic and fragrance-free, so it works well for my sensitive skin. It also utilizes deep cleaning microbubbles and the propolis extract to purify and clear pores, while helping skin retain its moisture.

TONYMOLY Watermelon Dew All Over Serum, 15 ml - Estimated Value $1.88 (Buy a full-size 120 ml for $15.00)

I love, love, love K-beauty products, and TONYMOLY is at the top of my list. All of their products have adorable packaging, high quality ingredients, and innovative technology. I am thrilled to receive a sample of the TONYMOLY Watermelon Dew All Over Serum. It's an ultra lightweight, cooling, gel-like serum that absorbs quickly and leaves my face feeling dewy and refreshed. Formulated with 50% watermelon extract, centella asiatica, and aloe leaf extract, this invigorating serum locks in moisture while reducing inflammation and boosting your skin's natural barrier. The bonus -- this lightly scented serum smells absolutely delightful and doesn't leave behind any sticky or slimy texture.

GLAMGLOW Supermud Instant Clearing Treatment, 7 g - Estimated Value $8.40 (Buy a full-size 50 g for $60.00)

This GLAMGLOW Supermud Instant Clearing Treatment Mask is crazy tingly. I applied a thin layer to my clean skin, and the mask went to work. The tingling sensation let me know that the supermud was doing its job as it dried quickly on my face. With ingredients like eucalyptus leaf and charcoal, this mask is definitely a great option for a good go-to purifying treatment. It absorbs dirt, buildup, and exfoliates dead skin to keep your pores squeaky clean.

F.A.R.A.H Lilac Z-Tweeze Dual-Ended Tweezers, 1 pc - Retail Value $12.00

I'm super excited about these F.A.R.A.H. Lilac Z-Tweeze Dual-Ended Tweezers. This is the first time I've ever received a beauty tool in an Ipsy Glam Bag that wasn't a makeup brush! For me, I find it a refreshing change of pace. This tweezer is dual-purpose. On one end is a super pointed, precise tip, perfect for plucking, and on the other end, is a broad, slanted tip, ideal for applying lashes. Designed with surgical-grade steel, these tweezers are sure to last, with no breaking or warping. If there is a downside, it would be that you can easily stab your palm with whichever end of the tweezers you're not currently using. So, please, beautiful people -- be careful!

THEBALM COSMETICS Autobalm Grl Pwdr in Bourbon St, 2.2 g - Estimated Value $7.15 (Buy a full-size 8 g for $26.50)

TheBalm always has AMAZING packaging, and I'm constantly drawn to any products they release. This Autobalm Grl Pwdr looks like an adorable vintage license plate, and it's only a sample size. I received the shade "Bourbon St," which is a rich mauve shade that works well with my skin tone. This blush blends easily and is long-lasting and buildable. It has a matte finish, and the shade is incredibly versatile. It's a very pretty everyday color for me.

Verdict: This month’s Ipsy Glam Bag was a refreshing way to ring in the summer for me. With the refreshing CLIV foaming cleanser and the fruit-tastic TONYMOLY watermelon serum, my face is getting in the mood for barbecue season. I also love that I received the F.A.R.A.A.H. tweezers instead of the usual makeup brush. I think it's great that Ipsy is including more variety in beauty tools. TheBalm Autobalm blush is a versatile shade that suits my skin tone and is perfect for a natural, everyday look. Lastly, the GLAMGLOW Supermud mask is in my opinion a great addition to this summer bag, since my pores tend to get more clogged during the warmer months. With a retail value of $35.03, this month's Ipsy Glam Bag delivered a great assortment of products curated for the season and definitely provided a good retail value for subscribers.

IpsyMatch algorithm s.t.r.u.g.g.l.e.d. with me this month. I can see it trying to do its thing, but I ended up with a bag full of product that’s so meh to me, even though there was some great stuff this month!

My bag:
– TonyMoly serum (I chose this & I am still excited about it, but I kinda regret choosing it bc I usually get a Juliette Has a Gun sample when Ipsy sends them, but I didn’t get Pear Inc, which I’ve really wanted to try, and I think it’s because there wasn’t a TonyMoly + JHaG bag variation)

– Context Tinted balm (okay, IpsyMatch I see what you did here, I do love tinted lip balms, but the BROWN shade? Why? 😭)

– FARAH Tweezers (I know I’ve consistently given this brand low ratings. I did try these tweezers & I kinda hate them. I feel like the tips are so thin that I can’t exert enough pressure for a good grip.)

– IBY eyeshadow (again, I see you, IpsyMatch! You know I love eye shadow & you know I love IBY, but dang, ANOTHER brown?!)

– Seraphine Botanicals illuminating primer (IpsyMatch, you are trying SO HARD! You know I love Seraphine Botanicals, but I have always, always rated the primer category as low as possible.)

Other than the Juliette Has a Gun perfume, I would have really loved to get either Fluide nail polish, or any of the Tanais lip oils. (I wasn’t even offered either of those duos in my Plus bag, either!)

I’m sorry you didn’t get the Juliette Has a Gun sample…the Pear scent is sooooooo nice. I really hope you get to try it soon. I did not sample it through Ipsy (my SIL gave me a sample) but I’m ready to purchase the full size. I love the staying power of Juliette fragrances.

Nice! I’m hoping there will be another opportunity to get a sample. It’s a trendy brand, so I notice a lot of places dangling JHaG samples as a carrot in general.

Why no actual product views like there use to be? I like to see the texture and consistency of the actual product so I can determine if its right for me. You can simply say if it arrived sealed of not in the verbiage, if thats your response to showing the sealed cap.

But to show the contents squirted out or a swatch also gives credibility to whether the reviewer even tried the product or is just writing whatever reviews and then re-selling the products that were provided for review.

Its pretty known that there are bloggers and influencers who get free product for review and resell the products and make up their review comments, just to continue to receive and then turn around and sell product for profit.
Thats dishonest and not why we continue to read their posts.

Please go back to what MSA used to be, more authentic and less obvious marketing blog for profit. thanks!

Hey Em, I am not the greatest photographer, as I’m sure you can tell lol. I do photograph the safety seal because is a pet peeve of mine when products come open. It makes me feel like they may be old or used (could just be me). Trust me I have a full time job, I’m not out here trying to sell sample size products. I usually will swatch something if the texture is interesting, different, suspicion, or new. I honestly never thought to swatch the boring ones that are all just white and creamy lol. But I will certainly swatch some more in the future if that’s something you’d like to see!

My pet peeves is not showing swatches. Then I really start doubting whether the products were sampled or not.

Photography has always varied a little amongst reviewers. Texture photos are particularly difficult to do, & I don’t expect every reviewer to be a professional photographer.

I got the exact same products! The serum was my pick.

I have the serum, cleanser, and mask coming and am excited to try all of them. I have one of The Balm blushes in another shade and it’s lovely. I always enjoy getting items from them. Thanks for sharing!
