FaceTory 7 Lux May 2021 Review

Here is our helpful info booklet with details for all of our masks.

Now on to the masks themselves:

BlingPop Charcoal Black Bamboo Mask - Retail Value $3.00 (currently sold out)

I don't normally gravitate towards charcoal products but this arrived at a time where I am breaking out really badly and charcoal is one of those ingredients that seems to help without drying me out terribly. This mask was downright soothing! It was a charcoal-infused material that fit my face well and was coated in a watery clear serum that had a fresh scent.

Detoskin Peony Floris Sheet Mask - Retail Value $2.00 (currently sold out)

I love peonies so I had high hopes for this mask. I tend to associate peony extracts with moisturization and calming, which is exactly the effect this mask had on my face! It also had such a beautiful floral scent.

Faith In Face Eye Cream & Hydrogel Mask - Retail Value $4.00 (currently sold out)

Ok, this mask was super cool. It is eye cream focused so the strip of space across the eyes is white and creamier than the rest of the clear gel mask. This is also a two-part design, meaning you apply the larger upper mask first then the lower mouth and jawline mask. This was one of those masks that absolutely needs to be chilled in the fridge if you want your mind blown.

I loved this.

Farm Skin Superfood Salad Facial Sheet Mask Green Tea - Retail Value $2.50 (currently sold out)

As an antioxidant powerhouse, green tea is one of my favorite skincare ingredients. I also find it super soothing and calming. Sometimes when I do a green tea mask, I will also sip green tea to really lean in! This mask was as marvelous as I expected. The material of the mask is made of eucalyptus wood and cotton and it fit really well and was super flexible. The clear serum was abundant, and I used the excess on my neck.

DewyTree 100 Quince Mask - Retail Value $4.00 (currently sold out)

This mask only had one ingredient: Chaenomeles Sinensis Fruit Extract AKA Quince! I like these super simple masks because they work well and also feel extra botanical. This mask was very thin and flexible and fit my face well. The serum was slippy but bouncy and left my face hydrated and glowing.

Oseque Pure Noble Water Mineral Mask - Retail Value $3.60 (currently sold out)

This mask has so much skincare goodness inside! Here are a few key ingredients: hyaluronic acid, honey, ceramides, royal jelly, allantoin, panthenol, and gobs of plant extracts. It sounds like it should be heavy, but I found the serum to be light but slightly gooey, in a very good way. This mask had a pleasant sweet scent and might have been my favorite for this month!

Faith in Face Centella Sensitive Ampoule Mask - Retail Value $5.00 (currently sold out)

I have a friend who didn't wear sunscreen out on her boat recently and her face and body were absolutely wrecked with sunburn. She was actually getting shoulder blisters! She reached out to ask what she should apply because she couldn't find any aloe gel that wasn't burning. A lot of those aloe gels have alcohol denat, which isn't great for skin that is already burned or stressed. I had this mask stashed in my fridge and immediately took it to her fridge! She applied it that evening and said it was a huge relief to her skin. Centella (aka Cica) is a great aloe alternative and soothes the skin and calms redness. It just also happened to be the first ingredient in this mask so I was glad that it helped her.

Elmolu Day Nature Mask Blemish Day - Retail Value $2.00 (currently sold out)

This was another tea-focused mask but with the added benefit of calming cucumber extract. These ingredients work together to calm redness, soothe, and clarify skin which should help with breakouts. While I loved this mask, it didn't knock my socks off like most everything else inside this month, though its juicy serum and nice mask design were certainly good enough for me to reach for this one again.

Ariul Daily Pick Peeling Pads - Retail Value $8.00 (currently sold out)

I really liked these little pads a lot! If you are like me, and your break out along your jawline from hormones or just sleeping with your cute little hands tucked up under your head at night, these are a lifesaver. They have salicylic acid which helps fight breakouts and evening primrose which soothes redness. Because you can literally just pull one of the oversized rounds out of the pouch whenever they make for a very easy additional step to a nighttime routine.

Verdict: FaceTory is a subscription I appreciate even more when it's hot outside because chilling my masks in the fridge before I use them is such a treat! I thoroughly enjoyed all of the masks this month and even though I gifted one, that cica really helped my friend out. This continues to be one of those subs that feels like a super affordable treat every month and the added bonus items always feel like an extra special surprise.

To Wrap Up:

Can I still get this box if I sign up today? No, order by the end of the month to receive the June 2021 box.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $19.90 + free shipping, which means that each of the 8 items in the box has an average cost of $2.50.
