The Beem Box March 2021 Review

The Beem Box came with a single info card that has a quick overview of the box and product information on one side.

This set features 10 high-quality eye makeup brushes, with durable wooden handles, rose gold aluminum ferrule, and synthetic fiber and pony hair bristles. Each set comes with 01 Big Blending Brush, ideal for nose contour; 02 Pointed Blending Brush, perfect for blending eyeshadow shades; 03 Tapered Blending Brush, for packing shades; 04 Eye Shading Brush, for applying darker shades on the eyelid; 05 Small Blending Brush, for precise blending in small areas; 06 Small Tapered Blending Brush, for detail; 07 Short Shader Brush, for precise packing in small areas; 08 Flat Definer Brush, for delivering sharp lines, using creamy eyeliner; 09 Concealer Brush, for applying concealer to the eyelid; and 10 Angled Brow Brush, for precision brow application. My favorite brush so far is the 10 Angled Brow Brush. It's been working beautifully for me when shaping my brows.

Onå New York Revitalizing Eye Cream, 15 ml - Retail Value $42.00

I love, love, love eye creams! Onå New York's Revitalizing Eye Cream has an amazing formula, containing their signature ABC Complex infused with peptides and vitamin E for instant brightening and reduction of the appearance of dark circles, fine lines, and puffiness under the eyes. This product gives you that well-rested look without needing all eight hours of sleep. One of my favorite things about this cream is the convenient rounded tip applicator that makes it super easy to apply the product gently on the delicate skin under your eyes. After applying, the cream absorbed quickly and I noticed a brightening and depuffing of my under-eyes, and this product has never creased under my concealer.

ROCK CHIC Liquid Lipstick in Pretty Kitty, 5 ml - Retail Value $28.00

Okay, so I haven't been wearing many liquid lipsticks, simply because they stain the inside of my mask -- but the gorgeous color of this Rock Chic Liquid Lipstick in Pretty Kitty was the exception to the rule. It's a bold, wild, and alluring matte, with a high-impact pigment that is a simple "one-swipe" application. Infused with avocado oil and coconut oil, this undercover hydrator moisturizes and nourishes your lips, leaving behind a weightless velvety feel. I found this lipstick to be long-lasting with minimal transfer.

Okalan Matte A - Eyeshadow Palette, 2g x 8 / each 0.07 oz x 8 - Retail Value $20.00

This Okalan Matte A - Eyeshadow Palette has eight vibrant shades, featuring three shimmers and five mattes. I love the flirty colors, and I found the shades to be blendable, fairly pigmented, and silky. They're easy to apply. I could use the beautiful 10-piece brush set from this box or simply my finger. My favorite shades in this palette have to be Venus, Aura, Iconic, and Creation. The shades Shell, Rebirth, Divine, and Muse are beautiful as well, and I enjoy the color story of this palette. This particular eyeshadow palette is a wholesale product, from what I could find online, so I would recommend patch testing before applying directly to your eyes.

bellápierre cosmetics Pompous Lash Volumizing Mascara, 8 ml - Retail Value $20.00

I like the bellápierre cosmetics brand, and I'm super excited that we received their new just launched Pompous Lash Volumizing Mascara in this month's Beem Box. The mascara is a true black, and I love the silicone wand with soft bristles for simple and precise coating with each and every lash. I found that it makes the application a lot less clumpy. The product is formulated to be non-toxic, and paraben, and oil-free, as well as cruelty-free. Any product that isn't tested on poor little bunnies makes me VERY happy. I found this mascara to be long-lasting and not quite as dramatic as some I've used in the past -- more for a natural makeup day.

Verdict: I think this month's The Beem Box had a great retail value. I received the beautiful rose gold 10-piece eye makeup brush set, along with the Okalan palette, and I love that the curation of both of these products goes hand in hand. I also really love the Onå New York eye cream -- it's definitely a high-quality product that has been giving me visible results. On top of that, I received the liquid lipstick in the beautiful "Pretty Kitty" shade that I simply adore, as well as a staple mascara from one of my favorite brands, bellapierré cosmetics. With a retail value of $128 on a $39.95 box + $5 shipping, The Beem Box delivers a well-curated box with products suitable for women in every range of melanin.

I have a question, not specifically related to this sub, but I figured I’d ask it here:

So many brands claim to be cruelty-free, but their products are made in China, which I thought requires animal testing on some things? For example, the BellaPierre product here. The website claims cruelty-free, and has a leaping bunny logo on the box, but it’s made in China (PRC- People’s Republic of China). So I’m wondering, does China only require the animal testing for products made in China to be sold in China, but if the product is made in China but exclusively as an export for sale in another country, then the product can indeed contain all entirely cruelty-free ingredients? I don’t mean to single out BellaPierre, there are TONS of brands with this same circumstance going on. I just wondered.

Thank you for such a well written review. This box is intriguing. I’ve received ipsy in the past and I currently subscribe to Boxycharm. Though they’re both getting better at being more inclusive a lot of the “neutral” palettes or “nude” lipsticks are too light for me. I love that this palette has color but it’s still very wearable for someone like me who doesn’t use bright or pastel colors. And that lipstick reminds me of Ofra’s Santorini shade. It’s one of my favorites! I’d love to see what look you create.
