Stitch Fix is a personal styling service. When you sign up, you take an in-depth survey of your sizes, your style, and your pricing preferences. After choosing when you’d like to receive your delivery, your stylist handpicks five items based on your preferences. The fee for this service is $20, and that includes free shipping and free returns. And if you keep any of the items they send you, you get to deduct the $20 fee from the total. (If you keep all five items, you also get a 25% discount!)

My items are reflective of my style and price preferences, so your Fix may be completely different.

FYI, COVID-19 Updates: To learn more about Stitch Fix’s extended return window, any potential fulfillment delays, and more, read all of their service-related updates here.

Stitch Fix Plus Size Clothing January 2021 Review

This is the included invoice. It shows in detail the items selected for me and the brands, sizes, and cost of each piece. The total comes up to $236.50, after all the discounts, if I opt to keep everything—which is a $105.50 total savings! That is like getting the City Chic wrap dress for free!

As always, I received this handy sheet with a note from this month’s stylist, Melissa! I could be wrong, but I am not sure if Melissa has ever styled me before! I am excited to see what she selected for me this month!

I love these sheets and how they show you visual styling for each item you receive – it is so incredibly helpful!

Finally, as always, Stitch Fix also includes a pre-paid envelope to mail back all my returns. You might not be able to tell, but this is large enough to hold every piece you receive. The size of the envelope isn't a concern though, because I bet you are keeping everything your stylist sends, right?

Onward onto this month's selections, shall we?

Merinna Wrap Dress by City Chic, Size 20W — Retail Value $98.00

I was so excited to receive this piece-- it is one I had requested my stylist send me for some time! I love the retro 70s color palette of rust, marigold, and mustard yellow against the neutral greys, black, and white. The long, slightly bubble sleeves on this mini wrap dress are everything too! The fabric has limited stretch and I might need to wear a camisole underneath for modesty, but I wanted to show you how the dress actually looks without one. It is a deep V, my friends-- rather sexy!

I did some simple styling by pairing this beauty with my off-white western booties, but also wanted to show it combined with this amazing Eloquii tiger print faux fur! Don't you love the pattern clash, but how the colors tie in with one another so well? I also can imagine this styled with mustard yellow or orange fishnets, open-toed wooden platform heels, big round oversized sunglasses, and a large-brimmed hat to channel the style love child of Stevie Nicks and Jodie Foster in Taxi Driver.

Amryn Hooded Ribbed Cardigan by Simply Be, Size 2x— Retail Value $58.00

It is chilly outside and a long cardigan like this is just what you need to stay cozy! This is perfect for the fall and winter months going into early spring out where I live. We can still get snow in May here in the tundra, so we don't go putting our sweaters away for the season that quickly! This cardigan is not only long, but it has a hood to up the cozy factor. The fit is great too-- has loads of stretch, but doesn't lose its shape! I styled this piece with the bodysuit and pants that Melissa sent my way, but this soft, plush cardigan is something I can envision wearing with my pj's for a Sunday afternoon binge-a-thon of a new show! Just hand me a bowl of popcorn and I am set!

Auli Notch Front Bodysuit by Simply Be, Size 20w — Retail Value $30.00

Looking at the pics of me in this bodysuit made me want to blast Heart's "Baracuda!" If you thought that my dress had a deep V, oh, well move over! I was not sure how to show you guys this bodysuit-- my bra was going to be showing no matter what I did. This piece is very comfortable made from soft, stretchy cotton.  This is definitely something I would have worn to a drag show or at my local 80s night I frequented back in the day! Very easy to dance in, I must say. This is a Tura Satana from Faster, Pussycat! Kill! Kill!  for sure! You too will feel sultry and sassy in this number, but it is definitely not something to wear to the office. I styled this with the plaid pants my stylist sent me, flats, and my favorite "disco-ball" earrings, but I can envision wearing this for a night out with a faux leather skirt, fishnet tights, ankle booties, and a faux fur leopard print coat for extra sass!

Gia Glider Pull-On Skinny Pant by Liverpool, Size 22w  — Retail Value $88.00

I have been on this Earth for thirty-nine full years and I have tried many different styles of pants. I know that skinny legs are allegedly going out, but I am here to say you better keep those high waist skinnies! They are the style of pants I feel most comfortable in-- I love how they hug my body and show off my curves! These plaid skinny leg pants are no exception to the rule! Sure, you could easily wear these ultra-stretchy, comfortable pants with a cardigan and shell top at the office with a bold statement necklace for a classic business casual ensemble. However, imagine these with your favorite vintage shirt, faux leather biker jacket, and booties, or an oversized cable knit sweater and Vans sneakers. These pants are so versatile that the $88 price tag is more than reasonable!

Julian Knit Jumpsuit by Kaileigh, Size 2x— Retail Value $68.00

You know, till I started working for MSA almost four years ago, I refused to wear jumpsuits. I didn't think they would fit this curvy bod properly. Four years later, I have quite the jumpsuit collection. My favorites are ones with loads of stretch-- they fit the best! This jumpsuit is fantastic and fits my jumpsuit checklist. It has a vintage 70s/80s vibe that I dig with the flowy sleeves and abstract print. This was incredibly easy to get on and off too which is incredibly crucial! I know working at the office, it was imperative to wear a jumpsuit that was easy to get on and off since my breaks would go by in a blink of an eye. You simply can't spend five minutes getting out of a jumpsuit on a bathroom break! This is definitely, Nicole approved! Wear this beauty at your office job with flats or layer a turtleneck under for extra warmth, put on some big statement earrings, and finish the look with some ankle booties for the winter months.  On those cooler early summer days, pair this piece with your favorite sunglasses, large-brimmed straw style hat, and embellished sandals. You will slay in this all year long!

The Verdict: This month's Stitch Fix had some wonderful pieces, but nothing I felt compelled to keep. My closet is beyond overflowing, my friends! I loved everything that my stylist, Melissa, sent my way, but especially that City Chic wrap dress! I mean you saw it too-- was it not everything? If you have read my reviews in the past, you know I am a sucker for anything that looks like it could have come from the 70s-- so this dress especially spoke to me.  The long cardigan is ideal for my work-at-home lifestyle these days and I love the versatility of the plaid skinny leg pants included in this month's fix! I am excited for warmer weather already, so I am hoping to get some brighter orange, chartreuse, and pink (yes, I said pink!) items. I am going to pass that along to my stylist in my feedback. I recently updated my Pinterest and intend on leaving the link for my stylist to use. I cannot suggest enough that you provide those links and direct feedback for every Fix you receive. Also, it is helpful to do the Daily Style Quiz they offer on their site. It allows you to thumbs up or down pieces to further communicate with your stylist your likes and dislikes. You can also "bookmark" items in their shop and send the links to items on your feedback as well. These steps all assist your stylist in truly giving you a customized Fix! If you aren't keen on getting a Style Fix, no biggie! Stitch Fix now allows you to shop on their site for clothing items, accessories, foundation garments, and also shoes! I can't wait to see what I get next month, can you?

Can you still get these pieces if you sign up today? Stitch Fix curates its Fixes based on each individual’s preferences as well as what’s available. What you get might not be the same as what I got, but you also might get something that fits your style and body even better than the looks above! Sign up and see what they choose for you!

Value Breakdown: This personal styling service has a $20 styling fee with free shipping and returns. The total retail value of the items inside is $342. The cost of each item is listed alongside it, above, but if I choose to keep at least 5 items, I get a 25% discount. The $20 cost of the box would also be applied to the purchase, meaning I’d end up spending $236.50 for the whole box. Ultimately, that’s about a 31% discount!

Calico Cat

Nichole, I always love your style in everything but that jumpsuit is perfect
You are also spot on about the wrap dress personifying the 70″s.

That jumpsuit was made for you. I’ve always thought that jumpsuits would make me look frumpy, but after seeing that one on you, I’m definitely going to try one.

Oh, no! I had no idea, Bonnie! That is such a bummer. I never ordered from them, but they were such a big deal brand in the plus size community when I first started on tumblr (I am aging myself here hahaha) many years ago! Sad to hear they are no longer stateside!
