The Monogram Series Candle in Citrus Mandarin, 8.5 oz - Retail Value $42
I love a citrus scent, and this one was unique. It wasn’t too zesty and had a soapy, clean note to it that reminded me of a freshly tidied home and fresh oranges. I really liked the scent, and the orange vessel this is packaged in is made from recycled glass. I had this burning in my apartment's kitchen to inspire me to clean (it didn’t work, but that isn’t the candle’s fault), and the scent throw was able to fill the space. This didn’t burn completely evenly for me- even after burning it for a few hours the melted wax didn’t reach all of the corners of the container.

The Cornerstone Collection Candle in Vanilla Bean, 8.5 oz - Retail Value $42
I am really picky when it comes to vanilla scents, and this one wasn’t up to par. If something is going to be prominently vanilla, I need it to smell just like a fresh vanilla bean instead of an artificial bakery scent. This one leaned more artificial to my nose, so I’ll pass it along to a friend. After my first burn, though, this did burn more evenly than the monogram candle (perhaps due to the round shape?), and the throw of the candle filled my living room.

Travel Tin Candle in Lavender, 2 oz - Retail Value $12
This was my favorite scent in the box. It has a lovely earthy lavender scent that is truly reminiscent of fresh lavender. The travel tin burned evenly, and I enjoyed this scent so much that I went through half the candle the first time I lit it. The website states this candle should have about a 30 hour burn time, but I don’t see my candle lasting that long. I put this in my bathroom while it was lit, and it filled the small space nicely.
The Verdict: Lovespoon markets their candles as a luxury experience, and they pay close attention to detail. While the vanilla bean candle wasn't for me, both the citrus mandarin and lavender candles were right up my alley. If the style of these candles speak to you and you go through candles frequently, this may be the subscription for you. Value-wise, these three candles add up to $96 (and that is the value you can expect every month since you will always receive a candle from each of the three collections in your monthly box). If you're not an avid candle burner, though, you may not be in love with this subscription and will be better off purchasing the occasional one-off.
