Ellie Women's Fitness Clothing "Midnight Garden" February 2021 Review

At the beginning of each month, Ellie releases new collections. You can choose which one you want or skip that month if you don't want any of them and you won't be charged. This month I chose the Midnight Garden collection.

My invoice arrived inside of this shiny rose gold envelope.

Williston Jacket by Marika in Black, Size L

If the snow would just go away, this would be the perfect outfit to wear outside now that it is slowly warming up. I love that this jacket has a hood, along with other useful details such as the thumb hole in the sleeves and side pockets. The fabric is moisture-wicking and slightly stretchy with 11% spandex and it has a nice ribbed detail at the back. It is soft and really comfortable. While it is meant to be form-fitting, I didn't find it to be too tight at all and I actually thought it was quite roomy, which I always appreciate in a jacket. The hood is nice and deep too, providing adequate protection from the elements if needed.

High-Waisted Printed Ankle Legging by Marika in Black Peonies Outline, Size L

These pants totally looked blue to me in the photos on the Ellie site, but they are indeed black (super dark blue would have been fine with me, too!). I really love the contrast of the white and black and the lined details give these the look of a beautiful sketch. They are really pretty, and a little bit fun, but the neutral colors keep them from being too wild. They are high-rise pants, and while it lists them as having a media pocket, I was unable to locate one. These also have the dry-wik finish as well as a cool max gusset. These words don't mean too much to me, but I'll take it! The pants are stretchy, soft, and comfortable, similar to most Marika leggings that I've tried.

Layla Sports Bra by Marika in Black Peonies Outline, Size L - Retail Value $50 (based on a similar pattern found here)

I really love Marika's sports bra designs. They have a more fitted inner layer and then the soft, stretchy fabric lays over top of it which means it's not as form-fitting as most bras, and the longer length means it could be worn as a top if you were so inclined (mom of three here- not inclined at all!). Again we have the dry-wik fabric and just enough spandex to make it stretchy and comfortable. The inner bra has removable cups and this is a medium-impact bra. It has a bit of a plunge in the back which I like because the less fabric back there, the more air circulating, which is important to me when working up a sweat!

Verdict: I am really happy with this month's Ellie collection. Everything is so comfortable and stylish and I love how stretchy the pieces are for a perfect fit. The floral pattern is so pretty and unique and the jacket is perfect for a transitional workout outfit as we move into spring. The value is definitely there each month and it's so much fun picking from all of the different collections... although sometimes it's really tough to choose!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? You'll be selecting from the current month's selections, which may include this collection. Check out our latest spoilers here! If you are a subscriber, you can pick up past collections (if they are available) in the shop.

Value Breakdown: The three-item box costs $44.95. That means that the average cost per item is $14.98.

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!

(nope, not affiliated with Marika lol) Any feedback from busty folks out there? I’m a 36DD and it can be a challenge to find sports bras, but am definitely interested in the 3-part subscription if they generally offer them for larger cup sizes.

I choose this set for this month and cannot wait to get it. I was pretty sure it was black, that’s why I got it. If I saw it as a blue, I would pass 🙂

I love this print but I’m not sure I could pull off printed top AND bottom. I think a solid black top might be better, at least for me. Is it possible to pick another color or is it sold as a set?

It’s sold as a set, but this would be an easy one to mix and match! Pair the top with plain black leggings and the bottoms with a plain black top like you said! 🙂

It’s nice to see clothing reviews on someone with weight and curves, but isn’t heavy! Not that there’s anything wrong with a heavy set reviewer, but this is better for me personally haha (and probably others as well!) I’m actually quite a bit skinnier BUT i find your body type more helpful because I have the bangin’ curves like you do, so the skinnier girls aren’t relatable to me lmao. Like, what do you mean all your pants arent stretchy? 😂😂🤣

Haha yes curves and big hips definitely mean things fit a bit differently! My hips are much bigger than usual right now so the fact that these pants are still fitting over them is important to note! Lol. I’m glad it’s helpful to you! 🙂

I ordered this set in Feb and totally expected it to be blue, too! I do like the way the Marika items fit – I had another brand in the fall and found it a bit small.

Glad I’m not the only one who thought it looked blue! 🙂

I got this collection only because I forgot to change it by the allowed date. I never would have chosen it otherwise because it just didn’t spark my interest, but I’m so glad I got it. I love this set. It’s so comfortable and stretchy and everything stays in place when working out! The jacket is awesome, too. Probably my favorite set thus far.
