Just an FYI for those of you switching from Ipsy to Boxy, or vise versa because of CS, etc.
Ipsy IS Boxy now. They bought them out a few months back. So things will either improve or continue to be an even worse sh*t show..

Why is base looking better than premium every month? I am about to downgrade. Premium isn’t as good in my opinion.

I was really happy with the items in my box this month! I got the farmacy honey grail, the earth harbor superfood ampoule (SUPER EXCITED), eloise beauty body glow, appeal cosmetics gold liquid eye shadow, and the kinder glow highlight pallet.\
BUT two of my items arrived broken/leaking, the highlight pallet and the farmacy oil. super disappointing. i havent had any experience with boxycharm customer service but im hoping they are able to replace these items for me :((

I hope my April box is better than March, where I got some cheap plastic brushes, a half-empty lip balm, a foundation four shades too dark for me, and a “shimmer” palette that looks like craft glitter and is unusable for anyone over the age of 12.

Lori

Girl…that heavy glitter “lip plumper” took me out. That box still has me mad. Worst box ever!

Remind me again what makes Premium “Premium” and more expensive? Base has been better for months then they finally put an ND palette in Premium but Base also has one. Boxy makes no sense and not letting you switch plans unless you get 2 boxes that month is RIDICULOUS

I think they do it that way so people will get both subscriptions. I’ve not been too thrilled with luxe for 6 or 7 boxes, but have been with them since the first box…I’m denating on just canceling luxe and buying the items I want, since they give you 1 MAYBE 2 decent items and the rest are filler no name junk…and they put the name brand good stuff in the base box….its really just like a bunch of games to get people to have multiple subscriptions.
Now with the dollar store type makeup showing up as filler items (like ipsy) and since ipsy took over and recycled products (like ipsy has done the past couple years) it’s just a matter of time before boxy gets worse and worse. It’s sad, because even the filler items used to be decent, but now it seems like smoke and mirrors and a lot of fake cheap brands showing up that has no presence u til they show up in boxy and a lot have these crazy prices that no one would pay and the reality is, it’s not some indie brand and its junk

I know right, I went back to just regular cause premium was never really better.

I received a GK item in a cleanser from birchbox and i loved it. Its very gentle on the skin, which is good for me because i have sensitive skin.

the vitamin C mask and dragun beauty scream Ipsy items and make me want to cancel my subscription. I know Ipsy has joined with Boxy and I was hoping it would not be noticeable, but this … this. 🙁

Reply ButtonReply

Mrd

We’ve gotten that dragon Beaty item before. It’s a repeat just a different color.

Reply ButtonReply

Stacy

I’ve had Ipsy (and Boxy) for at least 3 years and have only seen Dragun beauty in Boxy.
I also saw that Ipsy bought Boxy and have been HOPING Ipsy wouldn’t pick up any of Boxys bad habits but it seems they have. The new X bag now has too many variations and variations that aren’t comparable, which was one of my biggest gripes with Boxy n why I cancelled Luxe. It’s a shame

Laura Lundy

Ugh…no dragun beauty please.

Reply ButtonReply

Stephanie

Thank you! I immediately skip in ipsy at the sight of dragon beauty and if it becomes a staple in my sub boxes that is an immediate cancellation. Cannot stand nikita dragon and the dollar store makeup being sold at high end prices.

Reply ButtonReply

Stef

Yes, this exactly!

Andrea

Ugh I hope I don’t get that concealer…I don’t want anything associated with train wreck nikita dragon…another boxy item that would have to go straight in the garbage.

Linda

Hi Andrea, I was really thinking of leaving Ipsy and joining boxy charm because I’l haven’t really been liking Ipsy products latest. Do you think it’s worth it or should I just stick with ipsy?and also do you know for the first month. Would I get a welcome box or the April box.. TIA

I know you didn’t ask me BUT.. I’ve Had IPSY & Boxycharm for over 2Years. I cancelled IPSY starting in April. Ipsy started Charging me for Items I Never even looked @ on Website much less ordered. I’ve also been waiting for IPSY bag Plus w/‘Expensive’ Add/Ons since Oct ‘20. They got me w:”pls be patient due to Covid-19 & the Couriers..” THEN after waiting Past time told “Sorry IPSY can’t Reimburse past 30 Days..” Seriously?!? Ipsy quick AH to pull $ out on 30th even though Customer still hasn’t Recvd last Months BagS. I figured out Pattern tho. Don’t send out Bags until ADD/Ons sale complete so can put IN bags. Ipsy started to Charge me for Refreshments I Never even Recvd the “Free/Trial” to see IF I wanted. I did want to TRY but Never Recvd orders I paid for..then Re~Charged Again. It’s ludicrous, I keep Money in Acct for Sub Bags @end of month but in March I contacted Shingles & My Acct Bounced BIG TIME to tune of -$400+ all due to IPSY Withdrawls for all 3 subscriptions for my Daughter & Myself.. THEN Refreshments too. I was in Hole Majorly & didnt Care bcuz I thought dying of Shingles anyway. I started feeling better & Looked @ Numerous Charges from IPSY & Refreshments Meanwhile My Daughter Hadnt Recvd her Ipsy Bag & she had No Clue WHAT Refreshments was (she Never Recvd Trials either) I thought it was Just ME waiting on Ipsy Bag & Plus! Now my Ipsy X came quick as I Recvd it during 3RD week of Month. I was able to Have Bank reverse Charges for April but I’m OUT of Luck (& Money) for Bags Missing all way back to Oct. I blame myself Bcuz as I Used to Work As Insurance Underwriter And Agent I’d get Cussed Daily for Not Breaking Laws to “Suit Insurance Agent &/or Insureds..I’d take my Sweet time after getting Cussed VS. those Agents/Insds being Nice/Cordial. AMYWAY,.. I’ve NOT had problems w/Boxycharm as they’ll “Fix” Problems SAME day as my requests via Email. Glad IPSY is HISTORY. I’m Not missing IPSY & Found I can now order Sub Boxes from other CO’s & Still have Money left over. Just my Opinion’ Advise.. just saying~Give Boxy a Try & you won’t be Sorry. Good Luck & Hope you Subscribe & Enjoy Boxycharm.

Has anyone ever used Georgette Klinger or even heard of their brand before? I can’t seem to find any physical stores that carry their products.

GK is a very upscale spa in Beverly Hills. Great products… especially their Vit C line

Reply ButtonReply

Elaine

I love the GK stuff I’ve tried… better than average IMO

Reply ButtonReply

Becca

Yes, It’s a natural European brand if I’m not mistaken. I know that both QVC and HSN carry the brand and it runs from about $24-$79 according to which product it is. I’ve purchased it discounted from FabFitFun during their seasonal member sales and I also purchased a face wash during Boxy’s Pop-Up, not this past time but the one before. It’s pretty good stuff and I’ve liked the products I’ve tried, all face washes, lol. The Vitamin C face wash I really liked, it’s already used up!

Georgette Klinger is most well known for their spa and facial services. I believe they mostly direct market to spas and salons, which is why they don’t have a retail presence. They’re legit and considered fairly luxe.

I received a volcanic mineral scrub sample from ipsy. It was okay. I just prefer a hardcore microdermabrasion scrub, so it wasn’t really for me. I wouldn’t purchase the full size but it does get great reviews.

Alice

It’s a famous brand. I’ve used several items, all lovely. Birchbox often offers GK in boxes.

Reply ButtonReply

Luna

Hi haven’t used the brand, but have seen them plenty in sub boxes. I believe Barney’s sold the brand back when they existed.

Reply ButtonReply

echo

I’ve received GK stuff several times in the past but can’t recall which boxes aside from GlossyBox being where I first encountered it. For some reason I’m sure about that.

Reply ButtonReply

Lori

On the fence. Half look good, half I’m meh on. Boxy is such a gamble…I also missed choice, so not even 1 item for sure. Hmmm.

Can green be used for dark circles, or is it primarily for blemishes? I use Becca color corrector under my eyes but if green would help I’m more than willing to give it a shot!

The palettes and Farmacy spoilers are great! And anything that contains Vit C is a winner in my book.

Reply ButtonReply

Lori

Their pop up add on shop usually sells it. There’s a peach cushion color corrector that’s great for dark circles. It’s also moisturizing, so you can use concealer on top of it. It’s The Créme Shop, clean canvas color pink. I also use this for my melasma dark spots. They also have green and a highlighter. I own the pink and green, and repurchased both twice. I just ordered the highlighter so trying that once it ships. Best part, they’re $4.

I apply with my finger, I don’t use the pad thing it comes with. Sometimes I’ll use my mini beauty blender or a brush. But I prefer my ring finger above all.

Marion

Green cancels out red. You want a peach or salmon to cancel out dark circles.

Reply ButtonReply

Jules

Green wouldn’t work well on dark circles. For that you want to stick to peach/yellow/orange colors.

Reply ButtonReply

Boxy Fox

Has anyone mastered green concealer? I certainly haven’t.

Reply ButtonReply

Lori

Revolution Makeup blur stick. ONLY use it where you need it (ie: textured areas). I also use it anywhere I plan to color correct except under my eyes.

Aside from that, just make sure you use a nice grippy primer. I highly recommend Milk’s primer. Definitely one of my favs. The Kaja foam primer is growing on me, too.

Charlotte

I use it on my cheeks and around my nose, to cover my rosacea. I dot it on my cheekbones and around the corners of my nose and then blend down/out, before putting my foundation.

Reply ButtonReply

Jackie

It’s easy to use green! Just spot treat over your redness/acne marks and it’s gone under makeup!

Reply ButtonReply

Jean

Not me. I have finally mastered using peach or orange color corrector to cancel my dark circles though. Green is for balancing out red, right?

Hi there! What is the trick? Could you share please? Thank you!
