Basic Woman February 2021 Review

Mauve Crew Tee, Size Large - Retail Value $16

Basic Woman's t-shirts are so good! My go-to look this winter has been a plain tee with a cardigan, and this mauve shirt will transform my rotation. I usually stick with wearing darker shades, but this color is breathing new life into my gloomy wardrobe. The fabric is a slinky bamboo composition that lightly hugs you in the right places for a flattering silhouette. It is breathable, moisture-wicking, and it is long enough to pull off the perfect French tuck.

Lavender Low Cut Socks - Retail Value $12

Typically I scoff at low-cut socks; they never seem to stay up and I'm digging them out of my shoes before I even leave my house. Not these! They are substantial, thick, and once they are on, they stay that way! These cozy woven socks have won my heart, and I don't look at my other socks the same way I used to. The fabric is a bamboo and polyester blend, and it fits my 7.5-8 sized feet perfectly.

This month's sock has a little cuff sewn into the top to keep them where they should be. I love that this style totally covers my ankles, too.

Lavender Bikini Bottoms, Large - Retail Value $12

The search for a comfortable and undetectable seamless pair of underwear is over; Basic Woman won. I love the cool lavender tone of this pair – neutral with a twist. These undies are 87% nylon and 13% elastane with a 100% cotton liner. The cut of this pair is moderate, but I don't have any problems with the fabric wandering off to where it shouldn't.

Verdict: February's Basic Woman shipment was my favorite! I am obsessed with their garments, and I especially love all of the lavender items this month. The shirt is borderline neutral and will be a staple this spring. I absolutely love this month's sock pattern, too. The purple leopard pattern was an unexpected and fun surprise, and I can't get enough of Basic Woman's undies. They are so thin and comfortable, it is like wearing nothing at all. $19.99 per month is an amazing value for three sustainable items that were built to last.

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.

How is the fit on t shirts? I often have to go up a size since I don’t want my muffin top exposed. Is that a good idea with these tops?

My apologies Lizc, I had a photo ready to post, but I must not have saved it in time. Here is December’s review with a photo of me wearing a size large. For reference, I typically wear a size large in women’s tees and a size medium in men’s. Hope that helps!

I’d love to see a photo of the shirt on to get a better idea of what it looks like.

I love this! It reminds me a little of old Wantable Intimates. Question, though – the review says it’s $19.99/month, but when I went to sign up it said $24.99/month. Also, it looks like they now offer 2XL!

Thanks, Haley! I’ll definitely have to get this updated 🙂

It’s 19.99 if you pay for the year in advance

Still more expensive, men’s is $19.99 monthly.

Kristin

What bull the men’s is $19.99, why is the women’s $5 more.

I’m confused…. I received something totally different. I got a Grey tank, blue underwear and white socks with stripes. I would have much rather preferred what you got!

Wait I’m confused….. this is so not what I got. I received a gray tank, blue underwear, and white socks with stripes. I would have much preferred what you got and I did not know there were variations…

That is strange! I got a confirmation email on March 4th for another shipment with completely different items than my “February” shipment and what you described. I did receive a grey tank in my November shipment, so maybe they are trying to avoid sending out repeat items.

I think this is actually a review for March. I got the same thing you did in Feb, and then today my package showed up with the same stuff as this review. So maybe your purple stuff is on the way!

Ugh my comment posted twice.

I reached out to customer service and they confirmed that this is actually the pieces for March, which is exciting.

Kristin

Not everyone gets the same stuff every month, my boyfriend has never got the same package as Carlos.
