Quirky Crate February 2021 Review

Quirky Crate samples one item from a featured artist or brand each month. This month features Annie Konst. She is a graphic designer/illustrator. This info card gives you some insight into her background as well as some social media info.

On the flip side of the card, Quirky Crate includes an itemized list of each product and its value. This month's theme is "Bon Voyage!" featuring items that will make you feel like you've taken a quirky trip around the world.

Time to get quirky!

New York City: Statue of Liberty Socks - Retail Value $9.00

I would have picked these socks if I was out sock shopping, just because I think red and light blue clash, but that's the beauty of subscription boxes! This pair ended up growing on me, and I actually really like the bold red.

The building at the bottom is an interesting/confusing detail for me, but I still like the overall design. QC's socks are of awesome quality! I reach for them more than any of my other socks because they are so comfortable, and I can't resist a funky pair of socks.

Italy: Sticker Sheet by Annie Konst - Retail Value $5.00

My love for stickers is palpable; one of my favorite things to do is pick out the perfect sticker for the perfect occasion, so obviously I have stickers galore stashed for any situation. This sheet of stickers was designed by Annie Konst, this month's featured artist. It is a cute little celebration of Italy's finest attributes, my favorites being the food items.

London: Bus Cross-body Bag - Listed Value $37.00

This bus bag is just lovely! I quite like the cheeky nod to Valentine's day, the red with pink heart details, on this double-decker. The rest of the bus has simple window detail with a solid red backside. The lot of bags I've received from Quirky Crate come in handy all the time; I have a drawer dedicated to my bags and each house something, like face masks, lip balms, skincare samples, etc. It is a cute way to organize, plus it makes my bag collection fresh in my mind and easy to rotate.

Russia: Matryoshka Doll Enamel Pin - Listed Value $10.00

The nesting doll aesthetic has always been so appealing to me, so this pin is an instant favorite. I, like many of the quirky ones out there, love my tchotchkes, and Russian dolls definitely fit the bill. Her bright cheeks and dress make this smizing gal the perfect flair for my jean jacket or backpack. She comes equipped with two pinbacks to hold her in place.

Tokyo: Squishy - Retail Value $7.00

I couldn't think of a better time to get a huge squishy. I needed the stress relief after the rocky start of this year! The strawberry is a variation you could receive, but I got what I perceived as a slice of angel food cake with a kitty face; you be the judge - photo below!

This huge squishy is great to palm and squeeze as tightly as you wish!

Namibia: Leopard Sunnies - Listed Value $19.00

Since I am a sunny queen, I absolutely appreciate every pair of eyewear I receive in a subscription. I love every shape and size of sunglasses I can get my hands on, so this bold, angular cat-eyed pair will fit in marvelously with my eclectic collection.

These fit comfortably on my face without any pinching or sliding around. I am really happy with the quality of this pair, and I can't wait to be able to wear them in the sunshine!

Antarctica: Seal Pen - Listed Value $3.75

Antarctica isn't usually represented anywhere (and you will never find me there); however, I totally appreciate this little seal in this month's "Trip Around the World" theme. I had an unnecessarily hard time naming my son, but when I narrowed it down, Ronan was at the top of my list. Ronan is an Irish name meaning "little seal."  I knew it was the perfect name because I always thought of my dog Murray as a little seal when his fur is grown out; Murray is my first baby, after all. I have a few of these pens from QC; its fine point is perfect for writing in any tight spaces, and the black ink is bold and far from patchy.

Fred Luchador Tongue Ties - Retail Value $6.00 (On sale now for $3.32)

Fred & Friends is one of my very favorite brands for playful everyday items. Their high-quality products are fun and are always great conversation starters. I'd like to be the person that uses cord keepers, but alas, I am not that girl. I will likely keep these with the best intentions to someday use them, but until then, they will likely grace my junk drawer along with the random cords and headphones they were meant to tame. This duo is made with polyurethane leather and measure about 7 inches long.

The Verdict: February's Quirky Crate was a breath of fresh air. "Bon Voyage" is a fun theme, especially since we are basically snowed in at this point. Each locations' essence was captured in a colorful artifact, and I totally appreciate the randomness of each product selected. The total value of this box adds up to $96.75, over double the $36.95 + $8.50 shipping subscription cost. Each month's curation is a wacky surprise that always ends in my flair collection growing cooler and this happy customer smiling.

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.

I loved everything this month. I want that cat cake squishy! The strawberry was under puffed which actually felt fun. I had a lot of relatives birthdays this month so gave away ore than I wanted to. I may have to snag an extra box from their shop. Great review!

Great box this month! I especially love the London bag and the matryoshka pin (I’m obsessed with them!!). Thanks for linking to the Luchador cord savers (I love Fred & Friends too!). They will make great stocking stuffers for my BIL.

That is the base of the Statue of Liberty on the socks. The way they’ve broken the pediment off around the heel is a bit odd, but that little building is definitely what she sits on!

Thanks! He is slowly recovering from a herniated disk in his back (ouch!), but hopefully, he will be ready to review again soon.

Kathy

I just put a bunch of my Quirky Crate stuff up on eBay because I realized I had boxes of stuff that I had never touched. However, this box is super duper cute and kind of makes me wish I still subscribed.
