Emma & Chloé December 2020 Review

This month's box arrived with a booklet featuring gorgeous photography showcasing other E & C pieces you can purchase.

Let's peek inside!

Rana Bracelet - Retail Value $50.00

I have really become quite fond of pieces like this. Simple yet timeless little golden things that are gorgeous both alone and layered are really where my jewelry vibes are at this year. That being said, as much as I want to love this piece, I wish the main body of the bracelet was longer. There is too much extender happening here. My wrist is 6.5 inches at the smallest point, and I usually wear my bracelets loose, around 7 inches. The thicker part of this bracelet is less than 5 inches, meaning a ton of extender shows when I wear it. This is going to be less of a problem for my friends out there with delicate smaller wrists, but my pretty average wrist could use more length. I loved the style of the flat woven chain though. It would be my dream to own a similar one in real gold someday!

I like the thickness of this one.

But I wish this piece was more bracelet, less extender.

Here is a shot next to a tape measure!

Ara Bracelet - Retail Value $30.00

Alone, this piece feels super delicate and a little underwhelming, so I am pleased it arrived as a companion piece rather than a solo E&C offering. A thin gold chain bracelet, much like a thin gold necklace, is always a classic move. This one is a little too subtle for my taste when worn alone, but it shines while complementing other bracelets and the larger piece included this month.

Here is a shot on my wrist.

And here is a peek at the extender. Because this bracelet was a thinner chain, the extender didn't feel as drastic as on the thicker piece this month.

And, again, here is a picture with a measuring tape that I hope is helpful!

Finally, here is a picture of them worn together.

All Emma & Chloé pieces also come with a certificate of authenticity card plus care instructions on the back:

Verdict: This month's Emma & Chloé was a special holiday box with two pieces, which does indeed feel extra special. Sure, they arrived too late for me to wear for any holiday festivities, but, let's be honest, I didn't have any of those anyway in 2020. Because both pieces are minimal, chic, and super classic, they can easily be worn year-round and let me totally lean into the delicate gold jewelry trend without dropping thousands on real gold.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No. From Emma & Chloé:

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I finally received my December box. I tracked it to Japan, where it got stuck in customs… probably because I’m in the US. I contacted E&C to let them know. Eventually it was back in France and then made its way to me! I’m a very average size for 5’9”, but I have child sized fingers and wrists. The bracelets work well for me, but often times rings fall right off even when completely tightened and placed on my thumb. Jewelry is about the only OS item that is not too small for me. I’m contemplating removing the extender and attaching the bracelets together. I’m not patient when it comes to layering. February is the final month of my annual subscription. I will definitely sign up again when another good promotion is offered.

I’m waiting for my January box. It looks like it was received by La Poste on January 30 and hasn’t moved yet. Customer service at Emma and Chloe said it is stuck in customs. Funny, another package they sent after this one came about a week ago. I really love their jewelry (wearing my December bracelets right now!) but the transit time is so long. I’m assuming COVID is making this more of a problem.

Beautiful. 5″ is a child’s size. There definitely were shortcuts taken on the production of these.

BYW, I have very small wrists, 6 1\4.

Your comments re: bracelet lengths is totally legit; and I hope that showing them next to a tape measure (brilliant, by the way!) is a new normal!
