Birchbox Review + Coupon – January 2021
Birchbox sends samples (and sometimes full-sizes) of new and exciting beauty products from top brands for $15/month. Birchbox is one of the original beauty subscription boxes and is a great way to discover new makeup, hair care, and skincare products without breaking the bank. I received one of the two curated Clean Beauty options.
FYI: As of June 2020, in addition to the surprise sample box option, there will be two curated boxes offered in greater quantities than the previous curated options: The Clean Beauty Box and the Katia’s Picks box. Get all the details here.

Birchbox Review January 2021
As always, this month’s Birchbox came with an info card that lists the products on the front, with a Birchbox Tip listed on the back.
Dr. Botanicals Pomegranate Superfood Regenerating Sleeping Mask, 30 ml – Retail Value $9.90
I’ve always loved sleep masks. Every time I use one, my skin just feels so much softer and my complexion, so much brighter, the next morning. Dr. Botanicals Pomegranate Superfood Regenerating Sleeping Mask combines some of my favorite things, including Vitamin C and antioxidants for brightening, reducing inflammation, treating breakouts, and fading dark spots, as well as coconut oil to naturally hydrate and soothe skin all night long. It’s super lightweight and absorbs quickly into my skin. I’ve recently been staying in California, and I’ve found the weather to be super drying. I love how this mask delivers hardcore hydration and leaves my skin feeling soft and buoyant the next morning. The product did not leave my face feeling like there was a greasy film over it like some masks do, and the scent was very light, natural, and refreshing.
KNDR Luxury Hand Sanitizer, 30 ml – FULL SIZE! Retail Value $12.00
I never knew there was such a thing as “luxury” hand sanitizer. Boy, was I missing out! This KNDR Luxury Hand Sanitizer isn’t sticky like your regular old run-of-the-mill hand sanitizer and doesn’t have an obnoxious overpowering scent like the sanitizer at the doctor’s office. The product has a light floral scent and while I’m not a huge fan of florals, I definitely prefer this scent to the harsh alcohol smell. Of course, any hand sanitizer is going to have that sterile scent, but KNDR softens the blow with a hint of wildflowers. I found this product to be pleasantly gentle on my hands as compared to some others I’ve tried. It did not leave my skin feeling dried out and crusty. I’m very happy to have received hand sanitizer in a monthly subscription box; it seems like I can never have enough nowadays.
This VERB Ghost Shampoo has a super lightweight formula that lathers up for rich, luxurious cleansing. The shampoo has a lovely and fresh clean scent, and cleanses my hair without leaving it feeling stripped or dry. I did only get one use out of this sample size, but my hair did feel nourished and super soft to the touch, and the product didn’t weigh my hair down or leave any residue behind. Formulated with green tea extract, aloe vera, sunflower seed extract, and moringa seed oil, this shampoo is clearly a hydrating expert.
First off, this VERB Ghost Conditioner sample size was not enough conditioner for my whole head, but the left side was all smooth and silky. This conditioner has just as pleasant a fresh, clean scent as the shampoo does, and is hydrating and virtually weightless. Specially formulated to smooth frizz, promote shine, and strengthen hair, the conditioner has jojoba seed oil, moringa seed oil, and quinoa protein, as well as vitamins, minerals, and amino acids, all employed to repair damage, support hair growth, and hydrate without weighing down hair.
Marcelle Nano Eyebrow Liner in Medium Brown , 0.09 g – Retail Value $14.00
Marcelle’s Nano Eyebrow Liner in Medium Brown has an awesome micro-tip that allows me to apply super thin, natural looking lines to my brows. The pencil went on smoothly, stays all day long, and the shade matches my brows well. With the tip being so thin and precise, this eyebrow liner is almost completely foolproof and with its waterproof, long-lasting hypoallergenic formula, the pencil makes it easy to get your brows on fleek. The product offers medium coverage and a matte finish. On the back end is a high quality built-in spoolie.
Here is a swatch of the Marcelle Nano Eyebrow Liner in Medium Brown.
Verdict: This month’s Birchbox was definitely a treat, beginning with the awesome clear hard plastic box everything came in. I am legit so excited about this element. I love how it makes the Birchboxes reusable and perfect for storage. I also really enjoyed the Dr. Botanicals Sleeping Mask. I love to do good things for my skin, and I love that this product works through the night. I think it’s really awesome that this box also included the VERB Ghost Shampoo and Conditioner duo. I’m always thrilled to receive both elements of a haircare system. What’s the point in trying a shampoo if you can’t try the conditioner, am I right? Thanks to this month’s box, I was introduced to the world of “luxury” hand sanitizers. Your girl feels bougie AF. Lastly, the Marcelle Nano Eyebrow Pencil is the perfect tool for precise and detailed brow application. With a total retail value of $38.44, you definitely get your money’s worth, since this box only costs $15 per month. I think it’s great how all elements of beauty, skincare, and haircare were included in this curation.
