The Box By Fashionsta November 2020 Review

The Box By Fashionsta comes with a simple info card that provides a short description of each included product, along with its individual retail value.

Dominic Paul Contour Palette - Retail Value $40.00

This palette is beautiful and unlike anything that I currently own. The powder is super lightweight making it easy to blend, and the colors go on lightly so you can build to get a darker shade easily if needed. You can use this on your eyes, cheeks, jawline, or as a setting powder. This brand is also vegan and cruelty-free. I was surprised to see how large each powder was which means I am going to have this for a very long time! I don't typically use powder on my face, but I used a little to blend around my eyes and cheeks. The darker shades would be great to use as a bronzer in the summer and I love the look I was able to achieve with it on my eyes.

Laura Sanchez Makeup Moods Palette - Listed Value $25.00

What a funky eye palette! I really don't go too out of the box with my shadow colors, but I love having something like this on hand for when I want to play around with my look or for a special night out. I am always drawn to green and I was loving this deep green shade. Unfortunately, it didn't go on as dark as I had hoped and it didn't allow me to really build to get it much darker. Not my favorite look on me, but my husband said he thought it looked fun! The palette is a mix of matte and metallic so you can layer and highlight with each color for a full look or use each color on its own. I can't wait to play around with these colors a bit more, perfect for the new year when I am a bit more open to changing things up a bit!

LARUCE Beauty Tapered Blending Brush - Retail Value $28.00

My makeup brushes are starting to get worn down, mainly because my 2-year-old likes to play with them now. So getting a new set of brushes was a lovely surprise! This brand is vegan, cruelty-free, and hypoallergenic. This brush is perfect for blending eye makeup or powders. I always use a tapered brush like this after applying my liner to add a bit more shadow and blend my look completely. I am so excited to have another on hand now!

LARUCE Beauty Angled Shading Brush - Retail Value $28.00

I don't have an angled shading brush that is as fluffy as this! You can use this to blend and define the crease of your eyelid or smudge. It is great for powders, eyeshadow, or it says you can use it with a cream shadow as well. I used this to blend my shadow when I was using the Mood Palette and it worked really well to get that perfect green blend.

LARUCE Beauty Angle Brush - Retail Value $32.00

I was able to use this brush with my new Dominic Paul Contour Palette, I love when I can use multiple products from one box together! You can use this brush to blend or contour with a cream or powder. You can also use it to add a bronzer. I love how fluffy this brush is and how easy it is to grip, you can just quickly add some powder without feeling too cakey.

3 Graces Hydrating Lip Savior Treatment, 15 ml - Retail Value $18.00

According to the 3 Graces website, this is made with Portulaca Pilosa which is commonly known as the “Kiss-me-quick” plant. This lip treatment is also made with botanical ingredients to help hydrate dry, chapped lips. It will also plump your lips while locking in moisture. This savior went on like butter and gave my lips a little tingle, I can't say that they looked plump but they felt amazing! My lips have been super dry lately, which isn't great when I want to wear my favorite matte lipstick, but this gave me an instant smoothness and relief. A little of this treatment goes a long way and will leave you with a slick gloss look, so I have been using this at night before bed for deep hydration. It has been saving my lips and makes my lipstick go on perfectly!

Dr. Botanicals Watermelon Superfood 2-in-1 Cleanser & Makeup Remover, 1.01 fl oz - Listed Value $10.00 (currently sold out)

This can be used as a makeup remover, cleanser, or both to balance your natural sebum protection and remove dirt. The site recommends using it twice if you want to use it as both a makeup remover and cleanser. The top ingredient in this blend is watermelon oil which helps to tone and replenish your skin's moisture. It is also made with coconut extract to rejuvenate and recharge your healthy glow. Other benefits of this blend include soothing irritated skin, removing excess oil that may cause acne, combat oxidizing agents from the environment, and increase antioxidants in your skin. I have been using this as a makeup remover and have really been loving it. It is making my skin feel extra clean and seems to help when I use my face wash. I will say that I have felt a bit more dry than usual after using this for a few days, which isn't uncommon for me, but I am wondering if this might be drying me out a bit too much. I am going to keep using it to see, but I might need to stop using it if I get too dry and flaky.

Susan & Me NYC Simply Even: Tone Perfecting Butter, 2.3 oz. - Retail Value $24.00

This butter smells amazing! It is made with shea, cocoa, and mango butters that work to remove dead skin cells, clear blemishes while smoothing the texture and tone of your skin. This butter is also 100% natural and can be used on your body and face. It is also great to use for pregnancy stretchmarks, on scars, or on blemishes. It also hydrates and soothes irritated or dry skin. A little goes a long way, but boy the benefits are beyond incredible! I have been using this at night on my hands and feet to help with some major cracks and can already see an overall improvement in my skin's texture. I have also been using this on a scar on my son's face that is pretty new so hoping that it will help to improve the texture of it over time. The best part again is that this smells just so good, I would lather it all over my body if I could so I could smell it all day long!

Verdict: The Box By Fashionsta was a perfect curation of beauty products! I love when I can use products together from one box, it really makes everything feel so thoughtful. Both palettes are huge and will stay with me for a long time to come while helping me achieve new looks. I was able to use each of the brushes with the palettes to create a fun new look and to practice my blending with a powder. The butter was hands down that golden-ticket product for me this month. You can use it literally all over to help with any skin issues you might be having. Since the butter is so rich you don't want to use too much which means that I will have this butter for so long. It has already helped my skin and my son's! The lip treatment is improving my lips and the look of my lipstick, which a lipstick-loving gal can always appreciate. This box has a retail value of $205 which is incredible for a $24.99 box. This month was all about the curation, but what I love is that I received so many products that are going to stay with me for years to come! This month's box was the perfect beauty treat!

When they do contour palettes like that, I love them. I have an older iby one and hitting pan on most shades but very light like that so its buildable? Love those!

I think this is a fantastic subscription. I love the array of products they include each month. I wish these subs would give a palette free option, however. The plethora of palettes in these subs is mind boggling.

What is in the Tone Perfecting Butter that removes dead skin cells?

I’ve always really loved this box and the November curation was spot on, but I totally hear you on the palettes. I can never have too many, but I know a lot of people that feel overloaded. This is from the site about the butter, “Not your average cocoa butter, this blemish buster contains a moisturizing blend of shea, cocoa, and mango butters. Together, they help restore luster to your skin by removing dead skin cells and improving skin’s quality and texture.” Hope that helps!

They really did knock out a great curation. A face palette and an eyeshadow palette and brushes that can be used with both. Two winter essentials for skin and lips and watermelon skincare is amazing. I have watermelon serum, toner, face polish and watermelon primer and face powder from various brands and my skin just loves all of them.

Oooh I like this box! I have a couple Mood shadows I’ve got from Ipsy, using them with a wet brush usually works better. They have some fun colors.

It’s too bad a sub would start with December, hmm. Perhaps I could write and ask if I could get the November box first, or add it on, or something like that.

I am going to have to try using it with a wet brush I didn’t even think of that!

You should get Scar Away it is an amazing product for scars. I cut the sheets to fit the area and you can reuse it for about a week. Got amazing results from surgical scars.

I got my box in November was your box late or the review?

Thanks so much, I will have to give that a try! I didn’t receive my box until December and then we do have processing time for photography and review.
