Kinder Beauty Box Natural Beauty December 2020 Box Review

Every box comes with an info card that has each product pictured with a short description and listed value, so you know what each product is worth.

Kinder Beauty is now sending out two box variations each month.

This month's first variation contains:

The Orchid Collection:

  • Earth Harbor: Glow Juice Refining Enzyme Mask (Retail Value: $40.00)
  • Delia Organics: The Pout Lip Creme (Retail Value: $19.37)
  • Kinder Beauty Eyeshadow Brush Set (Retail Value: $20)
  • IBY Beauty: Eyeshadow in Fire & Ice or Headliner (Retail Value: $6)
  • K Voss: Perfecting Potion (Retail Value: $28)

The second box this month (which I received) contains:

The Peony Collection:

  • Dirty Lamb: Coffee Scrub (Retail Value: $30)
  • Save Skincare: Anti-Pollution Sleeping Mask (Retail Value: $23)
  • Kinder Beauty Eyeshadow Brush Set (Retail Value: $20)
  • IBY Beauty: Eyeshadow in Dance Party or Backstage (Retail Value: $6)
  • K Voss: Perfecting Potion (Retail Value: $28)

This month Kinder Beauty sent a little sample packet of Weleda Awakening Serum. It added instant moisture and felt comfortable on my skin under my makeup. I don't mind receiving foil packets in subscriptions if they are meant as little freebies (like this one), but this particular product left me wanting more! I think Weleda is a great brand, and I wouldn't mind more samples from them in the future.

Dirty Lamb Coffee Scrub, 2oz - Retail Value $29

The smell of this scrub takes me to a better place. Honestly, I just opened the jar again and took a whiff, and I am salivating. Is this how you know you're addicted to coffee? 100% Arabica coffee beans are ground up and mixed with mint leaves and coconut oil, making this invigorating scrub not only cleansing but also moisturizing. I polished my legs with this before shaving, and I could feel the mint on my legs even after I stepped out of the tub. This is one of those products I didn't want to love because of the retail price, so I am very tempted to try to make my own version.

Save Skincare Anti-Pollution Sleeping Mask - Retail Value $23

Sleeping masks are an awesome way to give your skincare regimen that extra oomph it craves in the winter. This mask moisturizes and gently exfoliates while you sleep, and the best part is that it totally dries down, so you don't have to worry about getting gunk on your pillowcase.  It made my skin feel softer upon application and even softer yet when I woke up. Save Skincare brought shea butter (for hydration), Bacillus Ferment (natural exfoliant), and Ectoin (skin repair) together to form this multi-tasking powerhouse.

Kinder Beauty Eyeshadow Brush Set - Retail Value $20

I really love receiving beauty tools in subscription boxes, and even though I am a total brush hoarder, I don't have any brushes like these in my collection. The blender brush has longer bristles and is less dense than the shader brush, but both have equally soft bristles. Each brush does a great job of transferring and blending color, and I'll definitely be using these a lot.

IBY Beauty Eyeshadow Backstage - Retail Value $5

Subscribers will receive one of two shades; I received the matte blue "Backstage" color, which is swatched below. The photos above show the eyeshadow single in "Dance Party". My philosophy with makeup is always "you do you''. If you love sparkle, then shine on. If you love bold color, then pack it on. I happen to love blue eyeshadow and liner, but unfortunately, not the shade I received. I would describe this as a muted cobalt verging on navy, and it just doesn't give me the pigment I crave.

This color swatches just fine, but when applied to the eyelid it ends up being dull and patchy. Eyeshadow singles have to be really unique with a special effect or color I adore in order for me to keep them, and unfortunately, this one did not make the cut.

K Voss Perfecting Potion, .34fl oz - Retail Value $28

This primer is a multi-tasker. It has a touch of glow to it, so it is perfect to liven up your foundation and add a soft glow to your complexion. I noticed my powder foundation applied more smoothly and looked genuinely brighter after uring this, and I loved the way my makeup wore all day. It could also work as a subtle highlight if you prefer a more natural look.

Verdict: December's Kinder Beauty Box was a great curation to end the year with. I love all of the different vegan brands Kinder Beauty manages to wrangle up, a lot of them being totally new to me. This month's box had a retail value of $107, a great value for a $25 box! I always enjoy trying out the new products sent out each month, and I can't wait to see what they have in store for 2021.
