Friends Box is a quarterly subscription box full of exclusive, officially-licensed merch from the hit TV show. Inside, you'll find collectibles, apparel, and accessories based on beloved characters and memorable episodes.

I grew up watching Friends when it was on because my parents loved it! Now as an adult, I am constantly watching reruns and it always gives me a good laugh!

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

Friends Box Winter 2020 Review

Every box arrives with a card showing each of the items inside.

Heating Pad

Why hello there smelly cat! It's not your fault. Does anyone else randomly get that song stuck in their head? This little smelly cat is actually a heating pad that is filled with sandstone. It comes with instructions on how to heat or cool before using. I actually love using little heating pads like this. This is a great size and is easy to store when we aren't using it.

Gloves

I was really surprised by the quality of these gloves. They are extremely thick and very warm without being rough and scratchy. I used to never like fingerless gloves, but I often find myself taking my gloves off when I'm outside to help my kids with things. Wearing these gloves has made my life a bit easier since I can make them a mitten or quickly get my fingers free if my kids need my help with something that I can't do with gloves on. I can't say that I'm blown away by the Central Perk logo, I wish it had a quote or another graphic on it instead, but they are a really nice quality!

Beanie

I love wearing a beanie! This fits me a bit snug right now, but I am hoping it will stretch a bit soon. I love the simple grey color and actually realized when I added this to my beanie collection that I didn't have a grey one yet. The Friends logo on the front isn't my favorite, but it's a little pink shiny logo that isn't too overwhelming unless someone is really looking to read it. Like the gloves, I wish it had a quote or different graphic on the front. If you don't like the logo though, you can always wear it unfolded so the logo is hidden.

Tea Infuser Bottle

This is another item that I was really surprised by the quality! The bottle is sturdy and the tea infuser doesn't feel flimsy like others that I have received over the years. I am not a big tea drinker, but my husband recently switched to tea. He was really excited when I gave this to him and has been using it to have a cold afternoon tea. He wasn't thrilled with it having a Friends logo on the front but enjoys using it at home.

Couch Puzzle

Sometimes I feel like I'm the only person that does not enjoy doing puzzles. Even as a kid I just found them to be very frustrating. However, my son loves working on puzzles which means I now work on puzzles a lot. He has recently started working on harder ones and was really excited when I showed him this! He has seen some Friends episodes when we have them on in the background during the day and even recognized the couch. We haven't finished this puzzle just yet, but I am always amazed at how good he is at putting them together (much better than I am).

Pouch

This isn't the best quality pouch but it is super cute! I love the little graphics of each character. The zipper tends to get stuck a little but the pouch is easy to clean. I decided to use this for my daughter's new art supplies that she got for Christmas since she is always going into her brother's art pouch. Hopefully, this will stop some fights and it's adorable!

Kitchen Towel

I wasn't sure what this was at first glance because the material is very rough. Once I saw that it was a kitchen towel it made more sense! This has actually been really great to use to clean up spills or to have out to dry pots on. I really love the simple black and white drawings, they look like sketches and feel super '90s to me. Nothing too crazy with this one but it is cute and functional for me.

Robe

This robe is super thin and silky. I could see myself wearing this over pajamas or using it more during the summer when I am getting ready in the morning. The length is a little on the shorter side but I am a bit taller. I really like the pattern, but the chick and duck on the back just feel sort of out of place. They have sent a few chick and duck items over the past few boxes so I would love to see something new in terms of prints on items. My son did think this was a really silly robe, and while it was a bit big on him, he has been wearing it around after his bath at night. So maybe I will pass it on to him.

The Verdict: The Friends Box for Winter, similar to the Fall box, felt a bit different. Instead of funny items that match specific episodes from a season, a lot of the items just have a graphic or the Friends logo on them. The beanie is super cute with or without the logo, and the gloves are surprisingly comfy and super warm. So I know I will get a lot of use out of both of them. The smelly cat heating pad is cute, too. The puzzle has been a big hit for my son and is probably my favorite item of the month because it shows the iconic Friends couch that I have always loved! The robe isn't the best quality and I'm looking to not see so much of the chick and duck motif, but again my son thought it was fun and has been wearing it. I wasn't able to find retail values for these products, but with the monthly cost of $39.99, each of the 7 products has an average value of $4.99. Am I the only one that is missing the silly products from boxes past that matched episodes? I am still obsessed with Friends and I wish that the box hadn't shifted to so many logo products. While I did enjoy this month's products and will use everything, I miss opening each item and remembering the episode it matches with. That to me is the fun part about unboxing a show box like this one.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? The Winter box is sold out! Your next box will be Spring.

Value Breakdown: The box costs $39.99 a month, which means that each of the 8 exclusive Friends items in the box has an average cost of $4.99.

I’m glad I cancelled my annual renewal. It was exciting at first, but these items are vaguely relevant to the show, and most of the time it’s just random stuff with the FRIENDS logo on it. I’d rather spend the $40 on one or two good quality items that I chose myself.

I’m not huge fan of friends, but this box looks kinda disappointing.
