October 2020 Super Chewer "Invasion of the Megabites" Review

Each box arrives with an information card with details about the items included, as well as ideas on how to engage with your pup.

This month's theme is "Invasion of the Megabites," which is especially adorable to me since I've worked in IT before! These fun gizmos look super-cool, and I think my dog is gonna go nuts for 'em, so let's get this box open, shall we?

Pork Stick

Hi, Mom - bye, Mom! My good boy, like most dogs, is so food-motivated, but these sticks are truly among his very favorite snacks. He seems to really love pork, and while these don't last a super-long time on his watch, they will at least keep him busy for a couple of minutes of pure bliss. Plus, I think they're a good treat to give him either before or after we take a nice long hike together.

Super Chewer October 2020 Beef Stick Wide

Beef Stick

I love that subscribers get two of these sticks each month, and that I received two different flavors this time! Archie doesn't get a ton of beef in his other dietary items, so I'm glad to see it here in his second stick. The protein is good for him! I've been really careful with his weight; since he's a mixed breed, the benchmarks on him are harder to determine, but I'm pleased to report that his last vet visit gave him a "perfect" on the body scale - I must be doing something right!

Wreck-A-Wrench

My favorite time of day is after dinner when I'm relaxing on the couch with something fun to watch. Archie grabs a toy, jumps up on me, and cuddles me while he chews away! He seems like he's so comfy, resting on top of me, and for some reason, he doesn't feel heavy – just snuggly and the right kind of warm. He usually tires himself out (chewing is hard work after all), and eventually dozes a bit before climbing down for a good streeeetch and sacking out on the rug at my feet. This wrench toy is perfect for our next cuddle sesh because of its round edges; it won't hurt me as Arch braces it against my ribs with his paws!

Lamb Droids

I think I've mentioned before that Archie looooves these! They're one of the crunchier treat offerings in this subscription box, and, if I'm being honest, one of the more odiferous. Thankfully, they never last very long with my sweet boy! He's so spoiled; I have a little glass jar on my bedside table that I keep stocked with treats, and I put these in it right away, since Arch adores them so much.

Chonk

I truly had a feeling that Archiekins would love this toy, and guess what? I wasn't wrong! The base of this robot is really dense and rubbery, making for wobbly, bouncy movement, which my pup is all about chasing, and the arms are a harder plastic, which I know will be perfect for Arch to chomp away on. I like the shape, too - it's a bit more suited to tug-of-war than a lot of other toys we typically receive, and I really love the interaction aspect since it's fun to spend time with him one-on-one!

Beep Boop Beef Treats

For this last box item, I actually giggled out loud at the name! I've really come to love the writers over at Super Chewer. I always appreciate smaller treats for training purposes; they're great for the dog park, hikes, or even just quick sessions in the backyard where I want to work on Archie's manners. We've been working on staying on our side of the path during trail hikes, so that we can keep our social distance, and I'm one proud momma because Archie has been doing beautifully with this task.

Verdict: Super Chewer's items this month allowed for lots of interactive play with my guy, which was a really nice change! I loved the tug-of-war robot toy, a few of Archie's favorite treats, and a nice soft wrench toy that won't make me cry if Archie chews it in my lap. I'm so lucky that I'm home during the day with him all week long, and then we get to spend the weekends relaxing, training, and getting lots of exercise together. These toys and treats from Super Chewer always make our time that much more fun!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Nope, you'll get the December box. Customer Care let us know that your first box will now always be either their Welcome Box or the current month’s box, followed by the normal schedule the following month.

Value Breakdown: At $29/month + free shipping for this box, each of the 6 items has an average cost of $4.83.
