Another great feature that sets this clothing subscription apart from others is that they have a button on most of their items to "Add to my next Style Plan box." This allows you to select what goes in your Style Plan box without the help of a stylist, or you can take some of the stylist's suggestions but not others. Lately, I've noticed that this button is less available on items as I browse around their new arrivals. Frank And Oak has been experiencing inventory shipping delays due to COVID-19, so their stock is generally lower. More on this just below!

My Style Plan by Frank And Oak Review

At the end of my November Frank And Oak review I mentioned that I'd be customizing my next several Style Plan boxes with items that I hope will fit my growing pregnant belly (and bum). Frank And Oak clothes lend themselves nicely to this endeavor since many of their pieces have roomy silhouettes. For December, I ended up with three knits that fit comfortably. Want to see?

Mockneck Sweater Dress in Brown, size small - Retail Value $129/Member Price $110

A knit dress is a great non-maternity article of clothing to explore in the maternity realm thanks to its gentle stretch, but this one is an especially well-suited version. I like that it's cozy in a blanketing type of way, rather than a hugging type of way. Of course, others may have different fit preferences, including myself in previous seasons of life, but for full days spent at home, I find it to work well. I do believe I'll like the way this dress looks on me even better when I'm living in a non-pregnant body again, when its boxiness can be worn as intended. But even now I'm really into the mock neck, earthy brown color, length, and fine knit. I'd say the only downside is that it's supposed to be hand-washed, which is something I personally aim to avoid in my wardrobe for the sake of simplifying laundry day (and therefore, life).

Merino Wool Sweater Skirt in Black, size small - Retail Value $79.50/Member Price $74.50

I've revisited the black knit pencil skirt a number of times over the years. It's so common for our bodies to change throughout our lives, and rather than trying to force an old favorite style to work when it just doesn't want to, I strive to let my wardrobe flow with my current needs. I moved a jersey knit version along after having my first daughter, and look at that, a merino wool version just flowed back! I am a big, big, big merino wool fan for its warmth and durability. Holding this ribbed skirt in my hands, there is no question that it's a quality piece, and on my body, it's very comfortable — the elasticized waistband isn't too tight. Similar to the dress above, this skirt feels right for this time, and I think I'll like it even more when my shape somewhat resembles what it once was.

This means that our merino wool is sourced from farms that have a respectful and progressive approach to managing their land and practice holistic respect for animal welfare of the sheep." And, I'm happy to report that it's machine washable!

The Structured Mockneck Sweater in Grey, size small - Retail Value $89.50/Member Price $74.50 (now on sale for $69.99)

This sweater was a bit of a departure from the norm for me. The zipped collar and ribbing pattern read as almost preppy to me, which doesn't typically draw me in—but the voluminous sleeves clinched it for me! I also appreciate a good neutral grey piece. You can see from my photos above that the first two images of this sweater on my body show its waistband loosened, while the final two show it cinched. I thought the cinching might make it more flattering on my bump, but found that it was much more comfy worn loose. I took a way-dressed-down approach here because this is what most days at home look like for me, but I think this sweater would be amazing with some wide-leg crop pants.

To keep with the trend I started, I'll let you know that this sweater can be machine washed on the delicate cycle, and needs to be dried lying flat.

Verdict: My latest Style Plan by Frank And Oak delivery arrived with three great items that are a wonderful combo of winter warmth and dress-up-or-dress-down style. Once I tried them on I found that, out of the box, I like them a lot for their quality and details, and expect that my appreciation for them will only grow when they can be worn as intended. It's asking a lot of regular clothes to fit ideally on a pregnant body, so it's no shock that these non-maternity items aren't a 100% perfect fit for me right now—but they aren't a bad fit, either! I will continue to wear them through my pregnancy and appreciate them for their other merits.

Between last month and this month, I now have a fresh spread of gorgeous sweaters in a variety of lengths and weights. For next month I think I may seek out some lighter weight tops for layering underneath—I can say from experience that the cotton long-sleeved mockneck is extremely versatile for pregnancy and continues to serve me well.
