Panda Pals December 2020 Review
Every month Panda Pals sends us a "socktivity" along with a small extra item or 2. This month we received an educational sheet that discusses giraffes and learned some fun facts such as giraffes spend most of their time eating, and can guzzle up to 95 pounds of leaves and twigs a day, but they don't drink much water. I didn't realize that because giraffes get most of their water from their leafy meals, they only need to drink once every few days! The back of the sheet featured a giraffe shaped word search and a crossword puzzle. We also received a craft kit from Oriental Trading which had a fall theme incorporated.
This month's "socktivity" was a little more involved than most and required some extra supplies, but Charlie had a good time making his tissue paper leaf that he happily hung on our Christmas tree!
Giraffe Savannah Socks
Staying on trend with the giraffe theme this month, our first pair of socks includes a couple of lovely giraffes reaching for a tasty treat of leaves in their usual habitat. The detail these brightly colored socks exhibit is fascinating, between the savannah landscape and the purple sky. Charlie really thought the giraffe sticking its tongue out was pretty funny but did mention that the Wild Kratt brothers told him that giraffes' tongues are usually black and that these socks weren't depicted correctly...could've fooled me, but I guess you can't fool a 5-year-old!
Giraffe Print Socks
Our next pair of socks is made to look like the pattern on a giraffe's fur. The bright orange and yellow coloring contrasts so nicely and really looks cool. Because these colors are ones my sons wear often, it coordinates with a lot of their t-shirts well (which is apparently pretty important when you are 7). Hank chose these and they fit his foot perfectly. He was excited to wear them as they look cool and are really comfy. I do have to say, these socks sure add a pop of color to their underwear drawers!
Verdict: Panda Pals is always exciting, as it always is a surprise. My kids are hugely into Wild Kratts right now, so anything having to do with habitats and animals they are all over, so these were a definite hit with them. I love the fact that this subscription sends themed socks, so each of my kids gets a pair that coordinates with the socktivities. These socks are my kids' favorites as they are comfortable, fun, wash well, and hold up amazingly! Charlie still wears some of the original pairs of socks from when I started reviewing this sub, which to me is amazing! We can't wait to see what next month's theme will be!
