Animal Trackers Club Review - October 2020
Before we get started on the contents of this shipment, I wanted to highlight a few items that we received in our Introductory Box that we also used for this month:
Please note the following items did NOT come in this box:
Animal Trackers Lunchbox
We received this cute tin lunchbox featuring Bode Bear and the Animal Trackers logo which is perfect for storing all of our animal gear each month as we collect it. It will also double as a place to play with our animal magnets!
Animal Tracks Card Ring
This is our Animal Tracks card ring. Each month we will receive an animal photo and track card that we can add to this ring as we discover new animals.
Animal Coloring Card
This animal coloring card will be used to track which animals we've already explored and which are still to come!
Now let's see what we received this month!
This month we received a great colored photograph of a leopard to add to our Animal Tracks ring. It is printed on thicker cardstock and has a hole at the top corner for us to easily add it.
My son was excited to see this month's animal! We added his newest track card to the ring.
My son enjoyed checking out this leopard fact sheet. It has full-color images on the front with some sentences about them on the back. They include little pictures in the story so that the kids can help read, too!
He's always ready to learn some new facts about animals!
He got to work marking off his animal coloring card. Looks like we only have a few left!
This cute leopard magnet looks like it's ready to pounce!
Adding his magnet to his lunchbox is always fun and he loves to play with them and sort them on the outside of it.
Our leopard figure has some intense eyes and a nice long tail! It actually feels a bit smaller in comparison to the other animals we've received, but maybe it's actually to scale compared to the larger creatures we've had! I should probably ask my son...he's the expert!
He didn't seem too concerned about the size and it has already been put into his savannah animal collection that he keeps on his "special shelf" in his room!
They always include a fun foam animal mask for us.
I didn't get a picture, but he wanted his sister to wear the gazelle mask from a previous box so that he could chase her around as a leopard. Haha.
They included two worksheets for us this month that taught us about the short e sound. These are always a great way to sneak some pen-to-paper learning in as a fun activity!
The first sheet had us identifying images that had short e sounds and then practicing our writing skills.
On the second sheet, we found some images hidden within the leopard that had the short e sound and then we matched some sentences to their illustrations. This was great fine motor work and he did really well with it!
This month's activity was a painting set that only required water. Each of the pages had a little paint palette built right into it at the bottom of the paper and they included a thin paintbrush for us to use.
He is very into art these days so this was perfect for him. He also really loved the various pictures that were included.
Verdict: Animal Trackers Club box is such a solid box for us each month. It's a little bit of learning, a little bit of fun, and it includes some fun animal collectibles that always manage to put a smile on my son's face. I feel like this box is perfect for him at 4-years-old and would probably be great for a kid who is slightly older as well. It's such an affordable box of fun for $16.95 ($13.95 + $3.00 shipping) each month!
