greenUP Market Box Fall 2020 Review

Each box has a product list complete with a brief description of each item.

Hav & Jord Stainless Steel & Silicone Lid Containers

I am so excited about these little containers; I always hate using styrofoam while shopping at the olive bar at the grocery store, so these are the perfect solution! The containers have their weights listed on the bottom to make checking out a cinch, and the leak-resistant lids will protect your food and your bags from any spillage. These will also be great to carry snacks on the go for baby and me!

Lotus Organic Cotton Mesh Produce Bags, 3 bags

I really love using mesh bags to store and purchase produce. Strong organic cotton ensures that your fruits and veggies will not bust through (like they typically do in a plastic bag), and the standout detail on this trio is definitely the drawstring closure; I will no longer have nectarines or apples roaming the trunk of my car. These bags are machine washable and oh so handy!

Simple Ecology Organic Cotton Bulk Bags, 3 bags - Buy 6 bags here for $15.95

Unfortunately, in my area, I do not have access to bulk items that are not already prepackaged. I fantasize about walking into stores like this, filling all of my reusable bags to the brim, but alas, for now, I can only dream. This set is also made of soft organic cotton with the same drawstring feature as the bags above. Each bag has its tare weight printed on a tag, so you can subtract that from the total weight at checkout.

Hav & Jord Silicone Collapsible Mug, 12 oz

The size of this mug makes it so easy to just throw in a bag in hopes of having time to stop for a fresh cuppa coffee, sans plastic. It is one step closer to making living a plastic-free lifestyle more attainable. This cup is easy to collapse and expand. It comes with a protective sleeve (this cup can get hot!), and a leak-resistant lid. The design of this cup is really cool and innovative, but it isn't my favorite to drink out of. I've had a few coffee sips trickle down my chin because the lid wasn't on correctly (user error), and if you grab the cup too firmly at the bottom (doh!) you're in for a mess. In a pinch, this is great, and I intend to keep it with me on errands, but like I said, it is not perfect for a klutz like me.

Waxed Cotton Bread Bag - Listed Value $

Waxed bags are definitely a new concept for me. I absolutely love the print on this cotton bag; it is beautiful! This bag acts exactly as a plastic bag would without the chemicals and waste; pick up a delicious loaf from your favorite bakery, fold down the bag for a secure fit, then press the bag together to seal. This will keep your bread fresh and add a little color to your countertop.

Verdict: The Market Box provided me with so many useful items for the grocery store! The produce bags and stainless containers will get put to use right away, and I can't wait to indulge in my favorite sourdough whilst putting my waxed bread bag to use. This box costs $39.95 +$3 shipping, which means that each of the 5 items in the box has an average cost of $8.59. I really enjoyed the picks for this month; this subscription poses as a great reminder to be mindful of all the plastic and waste we so easily accumulate, and although greenUP did not provide values for each item, I would definitely pay the $8.59 for the quality items in this box.

I love GreenUp! I can’t afford to keep the subscription all the time but I love all the useful products. I already own most of the items (well, similar at least) that were in this box so I don’t feel bad about not getting this box. Would highly recommend!
