Rocksbox Jewelry Review + Free Month Coupon – June 2020

Rocksbox June 2020 jewelry rental subscription review

Rocksbox is a jewelry styling and renting service. Members pay a flat rate every month to get unlimited access to the Rocksbox collection and the option to buy the pieces they love most at a discounted price. Right now, you can even get your first month of Rocksbox membership for free! (Read on to learn how, or check out our list of other free subscription boxes here!)

FYI – COVID-19 Update: You can read about how Rocksbox is committed to the safety of its team, subscribers, and community here.

Upon subscribing, you’ll take a “style survey” so Rocksbox can suggest jewelry pieces that fit your style. You can also browse their catalog and add pieces to your wishlist. Each month, Rocksbox will curate sets of three pieces to send your way, including at least one piece from your wishlist.

Try on the items from the box and wear them as long as you’d like. From there, you have two choices. If you love any of the pieces enough to want to keep them, you can put your monthly “Shine Credit” towards your purchase.

Or, if you’re ready for another style, return your box using the free shipping label and reusable envelope you got with your shipment. Shortly after, you’ll get a brand new box of jewelry to enjoy!

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Rocksbox Rental Jewelry June 2020 Review

Here’s the info booklet that came with the jewelry set. It includes a product list with retail and member-specific pricing. It also explains that the stylish new box is now 100% recyclable!

A free return shipping label is also at the bottom of the box.

FYI: The outer envelope that Rocksbox ships inside doubles as a return shipping envelope! Be careful as you cut it open—there’s a second adhesive strip that can be used to reseal the envelope for its trip back.

Kendra Scott Margot Short Pendant Necklace – Retail Value $58.00, Member Price $58.00

When I saw this iridescent necklace, I couldn’t resist adding it to my wishlist. I am glad I did! It is so pretty. The shades of the shell inside the pendant light up in a rainbow of color in bright light and twinkle demurely in shadow. It also makes enough of a statement without being a larger piece. I think the little addition of the chain charm adds a lot of extra style to this piece, too.

The center almost felt like an iridescent butterfly wing.

Kate Spade Hoops – Retail Value $98.00, Member Price $98.00

I thought these large hoops would be way too heavy, but the clever hollow design makes them feel a lot more comfortable. I am kind of obsessed with these. They are just so bold and unapologetic, and also feel very mod to me with their squared-off edges. The only downside here is the price (which is high for the product, but that’s name brand for you) and since there is no member discount on brands like Kate Spade or Kendra Scott, these feel a little steep, even with my $31 in credit. If they were less expensive though, these would be staying with me!

So chunky. So good.

Kendra Scott Scarlet Ear Climber – Retail Value $58.00, Member Price $58.00

Our last pick is another design by Kendra Scott. These climbers feature a trio of freshwater pearls set in a gold-colored pair of arches. I think these are so cute and they were another “keep!” temptation this month. The movement from the pearls feels delicate but special, and these would be really great if you have multiple piercings to layer with delicate studs and hoops.

Presh.

The Verdict: My Rocksbox pieces in June gave me much temptation. Those hoops I SWOON over. The necklace was also very pretty and felt really unique and special on. With the colors inside the center, it would really go with anything. The pearl climbers were another fave because I am a sucker for freshwater pearls in general, especially in modern designs.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Every box is different and packed based on the customer’s tastes and what’s available at the time. You can, however, give the Rocksbox stylists a nudge by adding your favorite pieces to your wishlist!

COUPON: Use code mysubaddictxoxo to get your first month free!

Value Breakdown: Rocksbox membership costs $21.00 per month. At retail, the three pieces would cost me $214.00. With my Rocksbox discounts and the member pricing (including the buy-all-three-items discount, and the $21.00 of Shine Credit [the membership fee for the month, which goes towards your purchases]), and the $10 buy-all-three discount, that price drops to $173.00.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

Comments (3)

  1. I just Don’t get this box. The member prices are always equal to the retail prices.

  2. Kendra Scott makes such beautiful jewelry. I wish it was featured in boxes more often. I never get sick of this brand.

  3. I realize that this is at a completely and astronomically different price point, but after reading the Switch review this is really meh. The stuff just looks cheap to me.
