Welcome to our monthly post highlighting our favorite discoveries from a variety of women's, men's, beauty, and even cat subscription boxes! Here are our favorite items from the past month:

Marne's Favorite:

The Item: Bathing Culture Mind and Body Wash

The Cost: $35.00

From: Beauty Heroes

ACTIVE DEAL: Get 10% off any subscription!
CODE: MSABH10

Why I love it: This is by far the best smelling body wash that I have ever used. It's so woody and spicy... mmm! The rainbow graphic and glass bottle also just make it a joy to look at in my shower!

Becca's Favorite:

The Item: van Gogh Royal Talens Pocket Box

The Cost: $31.38

From: Paletteful Packs

ACTIVE DEAL: Save 10% off your first box!
CODE: FIRSTMONTH10

Why I love it: While I'm not a professional artist by any means, I have become addicted to watercolor paintings! This pocket box includes 12 highly pigmented colors, a brush, AND a mixing tray all in one! I have used this kit almost every day- even creating hand-painted baby shower invites for my sister-in-law!

The Cost: Retail Value $9.75 (found here on sale for $6.29)

From: SketchBox

ACTIVE DEAL: Save $5 off your first box!

Why I love it: Like Becca, my fave this month was also watercolor paint! I am a watercolor lover and collector, and Daniel Smith is my favorite brand! This trio of a green, blue, and yellow is perfect for landscape work.

Naomi's Favorite:

The Item: Be Your Inc.redible Self With NAILS.INC Nail Polish in Lilac Grove, 10 mL

The Cost: Retail Value $11.00

From: Ipsy

Why I love it: With all my local nail salons still closed, I was excited to receive the Be Your Inc.redible Self polish from NAILS.INC in the color Lilac Grove. I was amazed by how smooth and quick the brilliant wide flat brush made application. One coat of this beautiful spring color was more than enough; the polish went on opaque! With a long lasting and quick drying formula, this product is a definite win! I love it!

Jessica's Favorite:

The Item: Whale Talk Deep Conditioner

The Cost: Buy a full-size deep conditioner for $12.99

From: Fortune Cookie Soap Box

Why I love it: I needed a hair cut back in February, however, my strong dislike of hair cuts (I had one bad cut in 2013 and I still haven’t gotten over my fear of it happening again) did not anticipate a pandemic that would close all beauty salons. Because of this, my hair is definitely drier than usual. This hair mask is thick, and when I wash it away my hair is so much softer and more manageable.

Carlos's Favorite:

The Item: Tiny Octopus Socks

The Cost: $19 with free shipping (two pairs)

From: Society Socks

Why I love it: Coming from a guy whose sock drawer was literally black and white, these socks really pop. My favorite of this month’s pairs was as classic as it was fun. From afar, it just looks like a simple dot design, but up close there are little detailed octopi that’ll get a smile.

Brandi's Favorite:

The Item: The Chelsea Set Swarovski Nesting Rings

The Cost: $19.95/month for the sub

From: Pura Vida Jewelry Club

Why I love it: I haven’t taken these rings off since I got this box! They are so beautiful with just the right amount of sparkle and since I am a big rose gold fan, these are just my style! They are comfortable to wear with a fairly flat profile and I feel like I can wear them with pretty much anything since the style is fairly simple. The opal with the rose gold makes it feel like a perfect summery set, too!

Ragan's Favorite:

The Item: Kittybelles Bad Kitty Tequila

The Cost: $4.99

From: VetPet Box

ACTIVE DEAL: Save $15 off your first box!
CODE: VetPet15MSA

Why I love it: I often choose whatever gets me the best cat pictures as my favorite item of the month and this month, this toy actually got Madison rolling around on the floor (though for most of the month, he’s been a stick in the mud).

Abby's Favorite:

The Item: Postcard Set

The Cost: Listed Value $6

From: Quirky Crate

Why I love it: This set of five postcards brought on some serious '90s nostalgia. These large postcards came at a perfect time, too, while we are all social distancing. There is nothing better than receiving snail mail, after all!

Hi there, I'm Christen. I am all sorts of things:

🌳 a writer who loves to convey feeling

🌲 a mother who wants to have just as much fun as my kids do

🌳 an outdoors-lover who's achieved #1000hoursoutside with my family

🌲 a low-maintenance self-carer

🌳 a general hungry person with an unstoppable sweet tooth

You'll find me collecting stationery and squirreling away stickers, riding bikes and swimming with my family, creating outfits in colors and silhouettes that make me feel amazing, wearing big earrings, drinking beer and asking my husband to feed me harmonies to sing, taking my vitamins, living for dancing to live music, roping everyone into a craft, being human and vulnerable, and celebrating the phenomenon of being alive.

...and doing it all with energy, delight, and jokes along the way.

The link for Beauty Heroes isn’t working. I went directly to their site and put myself on their their waitlist, but thought you should know.
