This is one of Liz’s top recommendations if you are looking for a subscription box - the value and sample sizes are amazing. (Check out our list of the best beauty boxes for 2020 and our reviews of Cheap Subscription Boxes for more recommendations!)

(FYI – Just like Birchbox, Ipsy sends out many different variations of their bag each month – so my review is just one of the bag variations you might receive!)

Included is a card that usually details each of the items.

Each month, Ipsy subscribers get a makeup bag in addition to their items. This month's theme is Make Waves, inspiring this adorable clutch covered in sunbathing beauties of all shades.

ESSENHERB Tea Tree Foam Cleanser, 30 mL - Estimated Value $3.00 (Buy a full-size 150 mL $16.00)

I'm obsessed with Korean beauty products and I love this tea tree foam cleanser. Its creamy foaming texture left my skin feeling clean but not stripped or dry. It has a very light, natural scent that reminds me of a spa treatment. With tea tree leaf extract as the main ingredient, this cleanser is great for sensitive and blemish-prone skin, as the tea tree kills acne-causing bacteria and reduces excess oil, redness, and irritation. This is definitely a product I would consider purchasing for my own skincare routine in the future.

Kismet Pure HOUSE OF MAKEUP Nail Lacquer in Frozen, 11 mL - Full Size! Listed Value $4.19

I really liked the color of this frosty pale blue nail polish from House of Makeup. It has a long lasting gel-like finish and handles wear and tear very well. The only downsides are that it took four coats for the polish to become opaque and took longer than I anticipated for it to dry. If you have that kind of time, the beautiful color is absolutely worth the extra work. The large cap comes off and there is a tiny handle underneath for precise and controlled application. The product's formula is free of harsh chemicals found in most polishes and also contains vitamin E to help nourish and promote nail growth.

KVD VEGAN BEAUTY Lock-It Setting Powder in Translucent 1.4 g - Estimated Value $2.40 (Buy a full-size 19 g $31.00)

This KVD Vegan Beauty Lock-It Setting Powder in Translucent has a very lightweight formula and application is completely translucent with no dry or chalky build-up. Some powders will make my skin look pale and my foundation cakey, but this universal translucent shade is perfect for all skin tones. It absorbs quickly and locks in foundation while reducing shine for flawless all-day wear. I appreciate that the product is vegan and not tested on animals, which is an added plus for the product. The brand's clear separation from Kat Von D and some of her controversial opinions is also refreshing.

OFRA X Talia Mar Highlighter Soho Swatch for Ipsy Glam Bag June 2020

OFRA COSMETICS "Soho" Highlighter, 10 g – Full Size! Retail Value $35.00

OFRA COSMETICS always makes incredible highlighters, and I'm thrilled to receive this FULL-SIZE product in an Ipsy Glam Bag! This Soho highlighter has a beautiful champagne peach tone with a pearl illuminating undertone. A little bit goes a long way with this highlighter; it will definitely make your cheekbones pop. The unique formula is a liquid-to-baked technology, ensuring the best color and sparkle every time. The product goes on smoothly with an almost creamy texture. I love the shimmery sheen it gives and how it highlights the high points of my face.

PAPA RECIPE Eggplant Clearing Mud Cream Mask, 15 mL - Estimated Value $1.72 (Buy a full-size 100 mL for $11.40)

This Eggplant Clearing Mud Cream Mask from Papa Recipe is a beautiful shade of purple and glides on easily, and after rinsing off, it left my skin feeling super soft, smooth, and clean. The creamy mask has a slightly grainy texture that gently removes dead skin cells with a natural exfoliant of finely milled walnuts. This mask kicked my breakout in the butt and with zero added fragrances was perfect for my sensitive skin. The eggplant extract hydrates while the kaolin clay purifies pores and controls sebum production. I absolutely love this mask.

Verdict: My favorite product from this month's Ipsy Glam Bag was definitely the Tea Tree Foam Cleaner from ESSENHERB. I love how clean and refreshed it left my skin feeling. I loved the House of Makeup nail polish color, Frozen, but wasn't a huge fan of the watery formula. The Papa Recipe Eggplant Clearing Mud Cream Mask is another favorite from this month. With the hot weather coming up, my pores tend to get clogged more often, and having a mud mask greatly benefits my face. I absolutely love the shade "Soho" highlighter from OFRA COSMETICS and the flirty summertime glow it has. The KVD Lock-It Setting Powder is a solid product to receive; nothing too exciting, but I do enjoy that the powder is actually translucent. The month's Ipsy Glam Bag was solid value-wise, but I would have expected to see something with SPF in a June "Make Waves" themed bag. This month had a nice value estimated at $46.31. That is great for a $12 subscription!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Possibly! As of publication, there was no Ipsy waitlist. Check here to see what month you’ll get first.

Good to Know: Ipsy sends out variations. You may get a completely different bag than me.

Value Breakdown: At $12 for this box, I calculated a value of $46.31. Here's how that breaks down per item:

  • Cleanser: $0.78
  • Nail Polish: $1.08
  • Setting Powder: $0.62
  • Highlighter: $9.07
  • Mud Mask: $0.45

Alternatively, each of the 5 items has an average cost of $2.40.

I haven’t really been feeling my Ipsy bag lately and been a member for like 7 years. Going to try my profile again.

I think my profile aged as I did – I dropped my age back down a few months back and the bags got better again. 😀

I love the shine on that nail polish! 🙂

I’m glad you liked that eggplant mask. I got that in another box awhile ago and it literally turned my skin pink. It was feeling weird and tingly so I washed it off after only 5 minutes and the reaction was incredible. It either dyed or irritated I’m not really sure but I was pink for 2 days, I couldn’t go out of the house. There was a perfectly defined line where the color started. Incredibly annoying.

I got the exact same bag! I thought the polish was gorgeous but I had just painted my nails when the bag came so I couldn’t swatch it, after seeing your review i’m iffy about it though 😛

I’m super excited for everything else except the setting powder, I just gave like 5 full sized ones away, but it’ll be pretty easy to find a home for this one, too!

What a great bag! I was bummed I didn’t get that nail polish, so to hear the formula is not great makes me feel better. The packaging on it is gorgeous, though!

Thank you for a great review–I enjoyed it!

Such a low RV this month! I’m waiting for my box to stop pinballing around and finally head my way. I’m going to try a white base before applying the nail polish and see if I can get away with fewer coats

I wouldn’t have the patience to put on 4 coats, but I really like that nail polish color.

I received yet another black eyeliner. Straight to the trash. My opt out items are bronzer and highlighter. So I am on the eyeliner, black of course, each month plan. Worst bag ever!

Puzzling how someone could throw out something unused instead of just giving it away….

I can’t imagine doing that. Such a waste.

I agree! I dont wear black eyeliner, but when i get one(or a duplicate or anything else i dont use) i literally just pop it in my purse. When I see friends/family i always just ask who might like to have it. Have never not found someone to gladly take things off my hands. Who doesnt like brand new products for free🤷‍♀️

I am so glad I’m getting that beautiful Ofra highlighter in Soho as my choice but don’t really want another KVD powder already have two like that. I’m also getting that Papa Recipe mask. I opted out of nail polish and they never give me that either so they’re doing great!

My choice item this month was the Ofra Highlighter in the shade Covent Garden. It is stunning. I wore it today and just had to take a moment to admire the beautiful shimmer from the highlighter. 🙂
