Bespoke Post "Mixed" Review

I love to see what Bespoke Post has to offer whenever there is an upcoming holiday or birthday and this month they had a lot of great selections for Father's Day. This month I ended up choosing the Mixed box because my husband and I both love a good Old Fashioned and since I am usually the one who makes them, I wanted to see how the syrup in the box would measure up! So I guess you could say this box was partly for me, too. 😉

Stainless Steel Jigger by W&P - Retail Value $12.00

First, we have a few items to help us get our drinks made starting with this simple and basic bar staple. This little stainless steel jigger measures 0.75 ounces on one side and 1.5 ounces on the other, perfect for measuring out our ingredients!

The second reason I chose this box is because I LOVE these ice cube trays! I received one in another box and I just love the soft silicone design over a stainless steel frame and how it comes with a lid. It makes them really easy to stack and keep the ice clean in your freezer and it is so easy to get the ice cubes out when you need them. These BPA-free trays are also dishwasher and oven safe. Plus the designs are really cool! How fun is that marbled look? This month we received two different sizes.

Peak Extra Large Ice Cube Tray by W&P - Retail Value $14.00 (I couldn't find this exact color on their site)

The first size is huge! These ice cubes measure 2.25 inches and this tray makes four of these generous cubes. Each should suffice for a keeping good drink that you don't want to water down nice and cool! (Also, as a mom, I think these would make for some great sensory fun by adding food dye and freezing some little toys inside for the kids to discover as they melt the ice!) Despite the large size, these actually froze completely in a reasonable amount of time, too!

I did try to use them for our drink, but as you can see, it was too big to fit in this particular glass! Haha.

Peak Everyday Ice Cube Tray by W&P - Retail Value $14.00 (I couldn't find this exact color on their site)

Our smaller ice cube tray is the one that I already have and while these are not quite as large, they are still a great size, and using just 3 of them is a great way to chill a drink! This tray makes twelve 1.25 inch cubes.

These fit nicely in our glass!

Craft Old Fashioned Syrup by W&P, 8 fl oz  - Retail Value $12.00

Now, onto the syrups! The first we had to try is the Old Fashioned syrup. These cute little bottles contain 16 servings which is a lot more than I anticipated, and you only need about 1/2 an ounce for each drink. You do have to refrigerate them after opening, but I was unable to find anything to indicate how long they would last in the fridge, though I don't see them going bad since they are bar syrups. If you're interested in trying these with less financial risk, W&P offers a mini cocktail set with all three of these syrups!

Here you can see what the syrup looks like in the glass. This one contains sugar, bitters, and natural flavors like orange.

This drink was so simple to make with just the bourbon and syrup, plus an orange and cherry garnish. I was doubtful that just half an ounce of this mixed with 1.5 ounces of bourbon would be much of anything, but it was so good! My husband and I both separately came to this conclusion and it was as good as the best Old Fashioned we've ever had at a restaurant. I love my homemade ones, but this one had the right mix of everything and since it was a pre-made syrup, it blended in so well with the bourbon. It was not overly sweet, and it seemed to enhance the flavor of the bourbon instead of masking it. We are looking forward to making many more of these!

Craft Moscow Mule Syrup by W&P, 8 fl oz - Retail Value $12.00

The next syrup I tried was the Moscow Mule syrup. This one is a blend of lime, ginger, sugar, and spice. I prefer to make Kentucky Mules (substitute bourbon for vodka), so that's what I stuck to for this drink. This time it was just a half-ounce of syrup, 1.5 ounces of bourbon, and 3 ounces of seltzer. This had a good peppery kick to it, which is how I like my ginger beer, and while it didn't have too much of a lime flavor to it, I was able to add a squeeze of my own to enhance it. This was not too sweet either, and since we always have seltzer on hand, this is super easy to make and convenient to have on hand! It was not quite up to par with the Old Fashioned, but it did not disappoint!

Craft Spicy Margarita Syrup by W&P, 8 fl oz - Retail Value $12.00

The last syrup is one that we are saving for the beach this summer. We don't drink margaritas often or do tequila regularly, but both of us are so excited to try this spicy margarita syrup and share it with our family for taco night! This is made with lime, orange, sugar, and chili spice. You use a half-ounce of syrup, 1.5 ounces of tequila, and 1.5 ounces of water to make this one. If the other syrups are any indication, I think it's going to be delicious!

Verdict: Bespoke Post is such a fun subscription and they have so many great boxes to choose from. Everything I've ever ordered has been quality, and while I had my doubts, these syrups were so much better than I expected! I also love the quality ice cube trays which made for a really nice curation overall. The total retail value for all six of these items came to $76.00 which is great for a $48.95 ($45 + $3.95 shipping) box!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes! This box is still in stock.

Value Breakdown: This box costs $45 + $3.95 shipping so here is what you are paying approximately for each item:

  • Jigger: $7.72
  • Syrups: $7.73 each
  • Ice Cube Trays: $9.02 each

While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!

The RV isn’t great but it’s more than worth it because the RV is legitimately worth the price vs another box that boasts crazy RVs and the quality of items is a skipping record player the brand discontinues. I got the spa box a little while ago that had the hand towel, bath towel, and candle by Snowe. OMG! Seriously thrilled with my towel upgrade. The candle smells great too and cost wise it was like getting the candle for free.
