Rocksbox is a jewelry styling and renting service. Members pay a flat rate every month to get unlimited access to the Rocksbox collection and the option to buy the pieces they love most at a discounted price. Right now, you can even get your first month of Rocksbox membership for free! (Read on to learn how, or check out our list of other free subscription boxes here!)

Upon subscribing, you'll take a "style survey" so Rocksbox can suggest jewelry pieces that fit your style. You can also browse their catalog and add pieces to your wishlist. Each month, Rocksbox will curate sets of three pieces to send your way, including at least one piece from your wishlist.

Try on the items from the box and wear them as long as you'd like. From there, you have two choices. If you love any of the pieces enough to want to keep them, you can put your monthly "Shine Credit" towards your purchase.

Or, if you're ready for another style, return your box using the free shipping label and reusable envelope you got with your shipment. Shortly after, you'll get a brand new box of jewelry to enjoy!

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Rocksbox Rental Jewelry April 2020 Review

Here's the info booklet that came with the jewelry set. It includes a product list with retail and member-specific pricing.

They also included a handy jewelry care card.

A free return shipping label is also at the bottom of the box.

FYI: The outer envelope that Rocksbox ships inside doubles as a return shipping envelope! Be careful as you cut it open—there's a second adhesive strip that can be used to reseal the envelope for its trip back.

Sophie Harper Love Necklace in Rose Gold - Retail Value $60.00, Member Price $51.00

I have been wanting to play with a dainty necklace with spaced letters, so this necklace was an easy add to my wishlist. I was really happy when it arrived! It is a super shiny rose gold and the 'O' charm is decked out in pave crystals that twinkle in the light. The whole look is luxe enough to easily pass for the real deal. As usual, I appreciate a necklace that looks as good alone as it does paired with another favorite from my collection.

The letters did kind of flip every so often, but I still really enjoyed borrowing this piece.

Gorjana Gia Gemstone Crescent Studs In Black Labradorite - Retail Value $55.00, Member Price $53.00

Give me an earring with a moon vibe and I am in! This pair flaunts a very artistic sort of crescent with a pierced metal design that gives it great texture. To add to the magic, there is also a black labradorite stone dangling down from the center. I love how these are large enough to make a statement and how they hang off of my earlobe.

Love these.

Perry Street Adoria Earrings - Retail Value $45.00, Member Price $38.00

Ok, so these are totally not something that I would normally select, but I couldn't resist how cute and colorful they are. While these might not be something I would consider purchasing, I absolutely love how they add some whimsy to a black turtleneck and top knot Zoom meeting look. Profesh, but fun, right?

The Verdict: I think my Rocksbox choices for April were pretty fun! The rainbow heart hoops were out of my normal wheelhouse, but how cute were those? I also always love anything with a crescent moon and natural stone, so the other earrings were extra hard to return. The L O V E necklace was another win, and a very fun way to add letters to your accessories.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Every box is different and packed based on the customer's tastes and what's available at the time. You can, however, give the Rocksbox stylists a nudge by adding your favorite pieces to your wishlist!

Value Breakdown: Rocksbox membership costs $21.00 per month. At retail, the three pieces would cost me $160.00. With my Rocksbox discounts and the member pricing (including the buy-all-three-items discount, and the $21.00 of Shine Credit [the membership fee for the month, which goes towards your purchases]), and the $10 buy-all-three discount, that price drops to $111.00.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I would love to try this service but it’s a bit expensive for this kind of convenience. For example, I have a “love” necklace just like that pictured except mine is Agatha Paris brand with rhodium(or some sort of coating) over 925 silver(so it never tarnishes) that I paid $30 overseas.

I can see that for sure. I tend to purchase vintage silver pieces mostly, but this is a fun way to try out the more trendy stuff without the purchase. I did cave a few months ago and buy a pair of amazing freshwater pearl earrings though.
