Look Fantastic April 2020 "The Spring Edition" Review

Each box comes with a booklet that includes product information and tips for how to use what you got.

Bella Pierre Peach Blossom Eyeshadow Palette, 7.2 g- Retail Value $25.00

I will be the first to admit that I am not a huge Bella Pierre fan. But this is actually a really pretty palette. The three shimmer shades are absolutely lovely, and have a nice pigment and texture. I feel like they could also easily double as warmer highlighters. The matte shade took a little more work to really shine, but I don't think that would be the one I would be reaching for from this selection anyways.

Top to bottom: Dahlia, Glisten, Hawaii, and Copper Mine

Erno Lazlo Hydraphel Skin Supplement, 0.5 fl oz - Estimated Value $5.00 (buy a full size 6.8 fl oz for $68.00)

I have tried this product before and I like it a lot. It does have a slightly slimy texture which can be offputting until you realize how fast it absorbs into your skin, packing major moisture! A little goes a long way too, meaning this little sample will last quite a while. It is alcohol-free, meaning it is an ideal formula for dry and sensitive skin, and the inclusion of Vitamin B3 helps with skin repair functions while moisturizing.

Ameliorate Transforming Body Lotion, 30 ml - Estimated Value $4.32 (Buy a full size 200 ml for $28.80)

I didn't love the texture of this lotion (a little thinner and very slick) but I am willing to overlook that because it has AHAs inside which help with exfoliation and cell turnover. This also means that your skin will be more sensitive to the sun, so this is not the sort of lotion to toss onto your legs before sunbathing. It has a scent that reminds me a little of baby wipes but not in a negative way.

STARSKIN 100% Camellia 2-Step Oil Nourishing & Brightening Sheet Mask - Retail Value $10.80

Yay! This is one of my favorite sheet masks of all time! It is a two-step formula. First, you crack open the little golden pouch full of 100% pure camellia oil and apply it liberally all over your face. Looking shiny? No worries. The mask goes ontop and helps your skin absorb all of that goodness! It smells like fresh roses and leaves my dry skin positively glowing.

MineTan Coffee Scrub, 30 g - Estimated Value $2.00 (Buy 200 g for $13.30)

I don't like coffee scrubs and I didn't like this product. To be fair, I actually don't even like drinking coffee, so this was never likely to be a big hit for me. I also found that while it did a great job of exfoliating (it is a combo of sugar, salt, and coffee grounds)  it also made a massive mess of my shower. There is some sweet almond oil in the formula, so my legs did feel great after using it, but the scent and mess were deal breakers for me personally.

The Vintage Cosmetics Company Slanted Tweezers - Retail Value $7.99

These tweezers felt like they were just a wider set than my typical pair, which made tweezing feel weird. I feel like I had to really squeeze them together so tight to grab anything. I felt like a crazy person trying to use these! I kept them around because I am convinced it is user error, and they are just very cute. Anyone else find these a little awkward to use? Is it just me?

The Verdict: I thought this was an okay Look Fantastic Beauty Box. It has an overall value of around $55.11 which is okay for a $19.00 box. I loved the Starskin mask and the Erno Lazlo supplement but found the coffee scrub and tweezers fell short of my expectations. I was pleasantly surprised by the peachy palette. I guess I was kind of missing a wow factor item for April though.

I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I am done with my 6 month subscription after being subscribed for a few years and I do not want any more. There price went up I swear at some point and the beautiful boxes are just drab and no magazine plus the items are just ok. This was one of my favorite boxes for a couple years and it has gonna down from this last few months. I just pray they don’t charge me even though i took the auto subscribe.

Ooh, I really like the palette! I stopped wearing much makeup within the last couple years, and don’t wear it at all now, so all my other palettes are very sad ;D

This wasn’t the best box for certain. I’ll use the tweezers for arts and crafts. I’ll be donating the lotion and coffee scrub…I absolutely hate the mess of those. I may gift the palette. I’ll use the mask and the Hydraphel is one of my everyday favorite products. I sure do miss the mag.

Megan, I have a pair of tweezers of that width that came in a set with a normal-sized pair of tweezers, and I reserve them for alternative tweezing situations suck as removing splinters (rare) and plucking remaining hairs after at-home waxing with cold wax strips (common). They work just fine on the thicker hairs of my legs and things like splinters–sometimes I also use them while I’m sewing.

This was not my favorite box but LF overall still delivers more often than not for me. I wish they still did the Elle magazine. The coffee scrub was awful. The tweezers were nothing special and went into my travel stash. I love Bella Pierre’s banana face powder but this palette was not going to work with my complexion. But the other three items were fantastic for me.
