May 2020 Dapper Dog Box Review

Each box comes with two info cards, one listing the featured item of the month—the Dapper Dog monthly bandana—and the other has some social media info as well as a little more info about the charitable nature of this box.

Murray is ready to dig in!

Born to be Wild Bandana

Every month Dapper Dog includes a festive double-sided bandana. This style is simple to tie and fits around my dog’s neck perfectly. I love this month’s exciting designs. This month’s theme is “It Came From the Jungle,” featuring two wild patterns you might find in the jungle.

Finally, two patterns to showcase Murray’s wild side! Here is the bandana modeled on my BFF (he is my 8-year-old Corgi-Maltese); the medium size fits him to a T! He is still totally overdue for his Spring haircut (but is going this week!), so please excuse his quarantine ‘do. We are both looking a little shaggy as of lately!

Petlou 8″ Warthog Toy – Retail Value $6.99 (on sale for $5.99)

Murray loves a good old fashioned squeaky toy. It grosses me out, but he’s been sitting in the same spot for about a half-hour now flossing his teeth with this warthog’s white poof of hair; it’s safe to say that he is really digging this new toy! And I think he is cute, too!

Poof in mouth, taking this warthog for a ride.

Prized Pet Pork & Cheese Strips, 8 oz – Retail Value $9.99

Murray has had a good run with treats from Prized Pet. These chewy strips are irresistible for him, and they are the perfect size for an end of the day snack. Prized Pet’s treats are made in the US, and I can pronounce each of the 9 simple ingredients, which gets these pork and cheese strips mom’s stamp of approval.

He is a monster when it comes to meaty, chewy treats!

Bocce’s Bakery Berry Cheesecake Recipe, 6 oz – Retail Value $6.50

I know I mentioned that Mur loves meaty, chewy treats just now, but he also really likes sweet and chewy ones, too! Bocce’s has a fantastic variety of baked snacks with 100% real ingredients made in the US.

So ready for nommin’!

Petlou 8″ Giraffe Toy

This chubby giraffe stole my heart. Look at those soulful eyes! He is also a plush squeaker that Murray enjoyed throwing around for a little bit.

He liked this toy, but it is not as appetizing as the warthog.

Verdict: Dapper Dog’s May box had the perfect treats for my boy this month. He is obsessed with both varieties, and he is still chomping on the warthog’s mane. The value of the items received in Dapper Dog usually adds up to what you would pay for the subscription; for us, it is worth the cost to have treats and toys delivered each month, especially during this quarantine. Plus, he looks great in his dapper bandanas!

That was the start of a new era for Abby, because she is now hooked on the subscription box life; she loves the idea of receiving (several) thoughtful treats from genius curators such as Lisa Sugar and Rachel Zoe. A few other loves of hers would be her dog named Bill Murray, Bill Murray and chocolate babka.
