Animal Trackers Club Review - May 2020

Before we get started on the contents of this shipment, I wanted to highlight a few items that we received in our Introductory Box that we also used for this month.

Please note the following items did NOT come in this box:

Animal Trackers Lunchbox

We received this cute tin lunchbox featuring Bode Bear and the Animal Trackers logo which is perfect for storing all of our animal gear each month as we collect it. It will also double as a place to play with our animal magnets!

Animal Tracks Card Ring

This is our Animal Tracks card ring. Each month we will receive an animal photo and track card that we can add to this ring as we discover new animals.

Animal Coloring Card

This animal coloring card will be used to track which animals we've already explored and which are still to come!

Now let's see what we received this month!

We received this colored photograph of a lion with a picture of what its tracks look like on the back of our card. It is printed on thicker cardstock and has a hole at the top corner for us to easily add this to our Animal Tracks ring.

We added our lion card to our ring and then we marked off which animal we received on our coloring card.

We also received a cute lion magnet to add to our lunchbox.

He gets so excited and loves to play with the magnets he has collected.

My son absolutely loves the animal figurines that they include. They are made out of durable plastic with a lot of detail and realistic features. The size is perfect, too! Not so small that he will lose it, but still small enough that he can take it with him for play and store it in his lunchbox, although he actually keeps all of his on his nightstand because "they are very special to me."

Here he is roaring like a lion!

We also received this foam lion mask.

These are a cute addition!

We received this thicker half sheet of paper full of great lion facts. The back features images which means he can help read the facts with me while the front has color photos of lions and highlights some of the main characteristics about them. I love that this fits right inside our lunchbox to store it!

They included this worksheet full of cute lion cubs. My son enjoyed looking at the pictures and figuring out which one was different in each row.

Our craft activity this month included several Dot pages and they sent these two dot paint markers for us in brown and yellow.

My son loved coloring in the lion and then adding some dot paint to complete his mane. This was a great fine motor activity for him.

There were also some letter worksheets for him to complete. All of these were printed on cardstock so they held up to the paint well! I'm not sure what the letters M and W have to do with lions, but it is still great practice for him and felt suited to his age.

Verdict: I really like Animal Trackers Club and so does my son. He gets so excited for it each month and I love that in addition to the fun toy and magnet he also gets a few educational materials, too. It's a very simple box, but I love knowing what to expect: it's simple, cute, and totally worth it to us for $16.95 ($13.95 + $3.00 shipping) since my son loves it so much!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, although you would start with the introductory box!

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!

Price point might help if it came with a bag of popcorn or a snack of some sort each month.

I love the concept but wish there was just a tad more. Maybe more of a hands on activity/craft to go along with it. Like you said in the review with the M and W worksheet that didnt really connect to the lions, it should of been like an L for Lion and maybe an R for roar? Idk i would love to get this for my 3 year old son but i always feel it is short of a more hands on activity and connection to the animal/theme each month.

Since my son really loves it, I am pretty happy with it each month, but I definitely agree with your point! Although it’s tough because it’s such a low price point comparatively which is why I’m always torn on the value each month! lol
