Switch is a jewelry rental service that lets you try out designer jewelry without the commitment. You pick your favorite pieces and try them out for as long as you want with a relatively small monthly fee. Switch also offers the option to purchase jewelry pieces at a discounted member price. For every month that you’re a member, you get a $10 credit that you can use towards the purchase of a piece of jewelry at the special member price.

This is a review of the $69 Black Membership that includes 3 pieces a month.

Switch offers free Priority shipping via USPS (1-3 day expected arrival). Each package comes with a prepaid USPS return label, so you can leave your return for your mail carrier or drop it off at the post office if you’re the nervous type. Shipping is free both ways, and they just ask that you package your items just as they were received to return them. It’s important to save the mailer and packaging for your return.

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Switch Subscription Box March 2020 Review

Everything arrived in a super slick and very high-end looking black box. Inside, there were multiple info cards explaining all the deets about this subscription. All of these cards are really informative and helpful in explaining all the facets of this service. They cover care tips, return instructions, and even a guide if you fall head over heels in love with a piece, which... does... happen.

Let's see what I picked this month!

Rebecca Pinto Lamu Cuff in Sterling Silver – Retail Value $170.00, Member Price $160.00

I really love the sculptural quality of all of the Rebecca Pinto pieces I have seen. They feel handmade and really special. This cuff is solid sterling silver and I am all about the handwrought vibes that come from the uneven surfaces. This cuff fit my wrist really well, but I kind of wish it had been a little bigger because I like my cuffs loose. It was adjustable, but wearing it more open didn't feel safe on my wrist.

Totally my style these days.

David Yurman Chatelaine Necklace in Turquoise – Retail Value $325.00, Member Price $235.00

Another David Yurman piece! I am on a roll. How gorgeous is this turquoise cabochon? Set in a Yurman cable basket and on a lovely little sterling chain, this is the sort of necklace that is small but still captures your attention. It is also the perfect way to add some color to an all-black look while still feeling tres chic.

The prettiest blue.

Chloe Reese Gold-Tone Hoop Earrings – Retail Value $495.00, Member Price $485.00

I knew these would be long, but I don't think I was prepared for how long they actually are! I kind of dig it? I snatched these up because they reminded me a little bit of horse bits and I like a little equestrian flair when it comes to accessories, just ever so often. I think these are really cool, as most Chloe pieces tend to be. Loved this look with a black top and no other jewelry!

The Verdict: My Switch assortment this month was full of dramatic shapes and bold styling. I find myself wearing really minimal tops lately, so a little drama hanging from the ear or looped around the neck elevates my look and makes it look like I at least tried. I loved wearing all of these pieces and will be sad to send them back!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Pieces can get snatched up quickly, and the number of pieces they have per style varies. You may or may not see these pieces in their available inventory list – but you might just see something you like even more! This isn’t a “styled” subscription, meaning you can pick exactly what you want from the available list – it’s not selected for you based on an algorithm or your preferences.

CODE: LOVEMSA

Value Breakdown: In this shipment, I tried out $990.00 of jewelry for $69 – which is about 7% of their retail value and a great deal if it works for your budget and needs. It’s pricier than Rocksbox (which offers mid-range designer jewelry) but less than Rent the Runway (which offers designer jewelry, accessories, and clothes, too).

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

Megan, I totally feel our styles are totally similar as far as everything. 😉 I’m wanting to get on board with this sub, but I see that there are already a lot of “borrowed” pieces that are unavailable. Do you know if pieces get switched out frequently? I’m curious how you came up with your “wishlist” of items because I love everything you try on. It takes forever to go through all of the pieces. Customer service seems very responsive which I appreciate.
