Cocotique “All About Love” February 2020 Review

Card Front for Cocotique February 2020

This month’s Cocotique box has an "All About Love" theme and features the “Palmer's Cocoa Butter Formula” collection from Palmer's.

The back of the Cocotique info card describes all the products included in this month’s box. It also provides information on where to purchase the products online and exclusive discount codes where available.

This month's box also came with two exciting products to sample, including delicious sugar-free gummy bears created by a Sugarfina and Curology collaboration, as well as a single-use sample of the Curology skincare method.

Bonus Item: Canvas Tote

The box also comes with a reusable tote bag each month. I love this element! I think it is commendable when brands promote less-waste options.

Cocoa Butter and Biotin Length Retention Shine Glaze Serum, 3.4 fl oz - Retail Value $6.79

The serum has a rich cocoa butter scent! It left my hair feeling moisturized and healthy with a more visible shine. The product is formulated with biotin for length retention and as someone with frizzy split ends, I am happy about that. The serum is also made without sulfates, parabens, phthalates, mineral oil, dyes, silicones, and most importantly for me since I have Celiac disease, gluten. I am super excited to continue using the product and discover if it does indeed give noticeable growth.

Cocoa Butter & Biotin Length Retention Leave-In Conditioner, 8.5 fl oz - Retail Value $6.99

This leave-in conditioner smells just as great as the serum. Formulated without any harsh chemicals and color-safe, its detangling and moisturizing powers worked wonders for my hair. I love how easily I can coat my curls with the spray. I just spritzed it all over my damp hair and rubbed it through with my fingers.

Cocoa Butter & Biotin Length Retention Shampoo, 12 fl oz - Retail Value $7.99

I thought this was a great shampoo. It lathers up very nicely and left my hair feeling squeaky clean and silky but not dry. Also, it smells amazing, just like all the other Palmer's products in this box. It's formulated for optimal length retention without any harsh chemicals.

Cocoa Butter & Biotin Length Retention Conditioner, 12 fl oz - Retail Value $7.99

I used this delicious smelling conditioner after the shampoo, and the combination left my curls feeling hydrated, light, and bouncy. The product is thick and creamy and conditions deeply. Letting the conditioner sit for ten minutes before rinsing really gave my hair the moisture it needed.

Cocoa Butter & Biotin Length Retention 2 Step Hair Mask, 2 X 0.5 fl oz - Retail Value $2.39

This is the first two-step hair mask I have ever used. It left my hair very hydrated, silky, and shiny. I think the price is very reasonable for a hair mask, and this is definitely a product I will be purchasing again. I also like how portable it is; this packaging size would be easy to slip into an overnight bag or a suitcase for a weekend getaway.

Séxūal Paris Eau De Parfum Spray Purser, 0.15 oz - Retail Value $30.00

This has to be my least favorite product. I am not a perfume or heavily scented product person. The scent is very strong and sickly sweet, with a strange twist that reminded me of something my grandma would wear. I must admit the packaging is adorable; it's a very sleek, compact perfume vial that I believe may have been designed to hint at something a little more naughty.

SAKURY Face Mineral Microexfoliator, 0.32 oz - Retail Value $35.00

This was by far the most intriguing product in the February box, in my opinion. This gentle micro-exfoliating glass lens is strangely textured and doesn't require anything besides clean, damp skin. After one use, my skin felt very smooth. I'm hoping continued use of this product will help with my enlarged pores and acne scarring.

Specific Beauty Advanced Dark Spot Corrector Pads, 90 pads - Retail Value $57.00

I'm excited to try this product. The formula is meant to reverse dark spots and uneven skin tone. After cleansing at night, I used one pad on my face and didn't experience any irritation. My skin looked bright and dewy after the one application. I am interested to see what effect the product has after long-term use.

Fleur & Bee Rose and Shine Refreshing Rose Water Toner, 2.0 fl oz - Retail Value $18.00

This toner is meant to minimize the appearance of pores, help control excess oil, and hydrate skin. Unfortunately I absolutely despise the scent of rose, so I will not be using this. It does have a fresh natural rose scent but it's just not for me. The mister on the spray bottle is very nice but I'll be passing this along to a family member or friend.

Vitabath Lavender Chamomile Body Wash, 1 fl oz - Estimated Value $0.90 (Buy a full-size 10 oz for $8.95)

This is very strongly scented and I'm not a fan of lavender, so I'll be passing this one. The product is formulated with natural ingredients and without harsh chemicals. It's said to create a rich lather and promote a relaxing effect with its floral scent.

Vitabath Lavender Chamomile Body Cream, 1 oz - Estimated Value $1.12 (Buy a full-size 8 oz for $8.95)

Like the previous product, this one is very strongly scented and I'm not one for lavender, so this will be passed on as well. The product is formulated for intense moisture with no harsh chemicals and all-natural butters and oils.

The Verdict: I think this Cocotique February 2020 box is great when it comes to product diversity and value. I love the full Palmer's hair care kit! Each of the cocoa butter hair products smelled delicious, and when using these products together, I saw a greater impact in my curls. I am thrilled to receive two products, the Specific Beauty Advanced Dark Spot Corrector Pads and the Sakury Face Mineral Microexfoliator, that will work together to correct dark spots and uneven skin tone. The perfume, Fleur & Bee rose water toner, and the Vitabath body wash and body cream were not for me, but I know the people I pass them onto will enjoy them. The estimated total value of this box is $174.17, which is an amazing value! The monthly cost of the box is $25 per month plus free shipping, making the amount you pay for each item of the 11 items around $2.27, not counting the bonus tote or Curology samples. I think that is an incredible deal and I love how this box sends something for your skin, makeup products, and a complete hair system. I think the variety is great, and especially with everything going on now, it may be ideal to have everything you need for your skin, body, and hair care come right to your front door. I was really pleased with this delivery!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? If you sign up for a subscription, you have until the 23rd of the month to get the next month’s box. One-time boxes are usually available in the Cocotique shop for $25.00 here.

Susan,

Have you ever tried the spray on moroccanoil like these at Sephora:

it’s a life saver for my fizzy tangled hair!

Thanks for mentioning that. I just ordered the February box. I subscribed to the box a couple of years ago because while I am not part of their targeted market, I have what I call a Jew-fro when I don’t use a lot of product in my hair. I canceled because I am allergic to coconut and so many of their products contain coconut oil. I am really looking forward to trying the exfoliator. Does anyone know if purchasing a past box starts a new subscription?

Luna

It shouldn’t since they’re usually sold as one-time boxes. 🙂

Loved the review and now I’m bummed that I didn’t receive this box. Would’ve loved to try out the haircare line

This is my favorite box!

I have aging frizzy hair and am not the correct demographic for this box yet this box has been a winner each month for me

I don’t usually like drugstore brands enough to purchase them. Because of this box I try these brands and have had some favorites and its nice to find them available in retail stores.

The value has always been great. The items in the box have always been practical.
