February 2020 Target Beauty Box "Self Love" Review

This month’s box is all about loving thyself with products meant to pamper.

This info card provides a short description of each item sampled and on the flip side a Target coupon good for $3 off a beauty purchase of $15 or more. This month I received an in-store coupon that also includes a promo code you can redeem online.

Moving on to Target Beauty Box February's self-lovin' picks!

Que Bella Radiance Boost Shimmering Cream Face Mask, 0.5 oz - Retail Value $2.49

Using cocoa and shea butters, this mask moisturizes and boosts radiance. I wasn't fond of this mask because of the strong perfumes, but the creamy texture felt great on my skin. The shimmer particles are supposed to brighten the complexion and boost radiance, but I didn't notice a difference after I rinsed it off.

Pacifica Island Vanilla by Pacifica Perfumed Hair & Body Mist, 2 fl oz - Estimated Value $4.00 (Buy 6 oz for $11.99)

I was absolutely thrilled to receive a Pacifica item in my Target Beauty Box this month! I love their body products, especially in this sugary vanilla scent. I used it as a hair perfume, and I got so many compliments at work; this is definitely a product I will be repurchasing.

Aveeno Moisturizing CICA Balm, 1o z - Retail Value $2.99

Aveeno is another amazing brand I was so happy to see in this month's box! Winter is so hard on my hands, and as soon as I applied this thick cream, my hands felt so soothed. It doesn't dry down right away, but this really is the perfect hands, elbows and knees moisturizer for before bed. Apply this at night and wake up with happy, hydrated skin thanks to its dimethicone skin protectant and Triple Oat Complex.

Yuni My OM World Calming Aromatherapy Body Mist, 1 fl oz - Estimated Value $4.75 (Buy 4 fl oz for $18.99)

Yuni is a brand I'm slowly becoming more familiar with. At first, I thought this aromatherapy mist was a refreshing room spray, but it is actually a body mist. It smells intense in the bottle, but when you spray it, it smells completely different. Mostly I smell the neroli, which I could easily drench myself in every morning.  Yuni is a vegan, cruelty-free brand formulated without formaldehyde, parabens, phthalates, petrolatum, sodium lauryl/laureth sulfates, mineral oil, synthetic colors or fragrances, GMOs, PABA, EDTA, or PEGs.

Village Naturals Therapy Aches and Pains Muscle Relief Mineral Bath Soak, 2 oz - Retail Value $1.00

When I was pregnant, I loved winding down after work in a bath with Epsom salts; it's been 3+ months, and I'm still addicted (and now I can have wine, too!). I've tried a few relaxing blends, but this mineral soak is the most refreshing. It has a very strong eucalyptus smell, and I felt completely invigorated after using it. I think this would be an amazing way to start or finish the day, and I may have to treat myself to more.

Masque Bar Silver Foil Peel Off Mask, 0.51 fl oz - Estimated Value $2.15 (Buy 2.37 oz for $9.99)

There is nothing more satisfying than peeling a mask off in a few big sheets, and I'm happy to report that this mask came off in 3. The scent was a little overpowering, and I didn't notice any difference in my skin. This metallic mask made me feel a little like the tin man and was fun to peel, but I will stick to my hydrating cream or clay masks for now.

TwelveNYC Bright-Eyed Cooling Gel Eye Pads, 1 pair

It was freezing when I received this month's box, so this pair of eye gels was ready to use right out of the box. I love that Target is including a fun reusable item like this in their beauty box. These are nice to keep in the fridge for mornings when my puffy, sleepless eyes get the best of me. They are big enough to cover my entire eye area, and I enjoyed them for about 15 minutes until they lost their chill.

Verdict: Target Beauty Box has totally upped its game for 2020. I was impressed by the different brands sampled as well as the generous sample sizes that were included in this month's box. This box is such a great way to stock up on travel essentials, and I love seeing the different products and brands Target has to offer. The value of this box is $17.38 (not including the TwelveNYC eye gels), over double the $7 box cost (which includes free shipping).

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you order today? Yes, as of publication, this box is still available for purchase.

I’m a self-proclaimed “cool mom” who loves a little, who am I kidding, a lot of razzle-dazzle. I have been box-obsessed for over 10 years, and I am always on the hunt for new beauty, fun flair and trendy clothing boxes. A fun night for me includes an exfoliating foot mask and a bag of Dot's Pretzels while binging Rupaul’s Drag Race.

Yeah, won’t let me order without a 25$ minimum order.

That is a mistake in their system. I called to let them know to fix it as all of their Beauty Boxes ship free. It even says so in the app. BUT for some reason, the item was entered as an “Add-on” item in their system. The gal I talked to said she is escalating it. Hopefully, this gets fixed soon & never happens again going forward.

That happened to me last night. Online would not let me complete the order. I wanted to buy 2 boxes ( not $25 dollars worth) I called in and placed the order over the phone and did not have to pay shipping. Extra effort but I was not forced to buy things I did not want just to meet a threshold.

It will not let me check out with free shipping

You can also use the reusable eye pad to numb an area where you’re going to get an injection so it hurts less. Especially useful on kiddos who have a fear of needles.

Does the aroma therapy spray remind anyone else of cola gummy candy? I really enjoyed this box. I didn’t have interest in lip one.

The lip box is AMAZING! The value is high on that one. My daughter confiscated the lip scrub, so I ordered a second box. The single use Burt’s Bees mask was a great discovery for me. I received this box and gave most of it away. Still a nice box.

Yes!! I totally get that note after it dries down!

I loved every item in this box. Great job, Target!

My Pacifica Island Vanilla had leaked somewhat in my box so that everything in it smelled like that vanilla and also sort of ruined the box itself. I love to re-purpose these boxes so that was a bit of a bummer. However, a very quick, easy online process and Target sent out another box with no fuss or extra effort needed. I wasn’t required to return it or even take pictures. I am VERY impressed by their replacement process on this box.

How do you repurpose the boxes? I have quite a few saved but don’t know what to do with them.

I use mine for all of the sub box extras. Sorted by product type. They stack nicely and they are decorative. I save the extra boxes for my 5 year old niece. She builds houses for her small dolls.

I store sample and deluxe-sample sized make-up and skin care in them. For instance, a person can do all lip items in one, all eye items in one, etc. It just looks SO much nicer, in my opinion, when it is put away neatly like that. The boxes from Target and BirchBox are nice enough to find uses like that for them. I’ve also found them nice to use as “wrapping” when giving gifts.

I liked the aveeno so much, I’ve bought the full size of it.
It’s that good.

It is on my to-buy list as well!

I agree, I bought the full size too. Wonderful stuff!

Agreed, it has been a lifesaver for my dry hands this winter. It immediately went onto the buy more list.
