Rocksbox is a jewelry styling and renting service. Members pay a flat rate every month to get unlimited access to the Rocksbox collection and the option to buy the pieces they love most at a discounted price. Right now, you can even get your first month of Rocksbox membership for free! (Read on to learn how, or check out our list of other free subscription boxes here!)

Upon subscribing, you'll take a "style survey" so Rocksbox can suggest jewelry pieces that fit your style. You can also browse their catalog and add pieces to your wishlist. Each month, Rocksbox will curate sets of three pieces to send your way, including at least one piece from your wishlist.

Try on the items from the box and wear them as long as you'd like. From there, you have two choices. If you love any of the pieces enough to want to keep them, you can put your monthly "Shine Credit" towards your purchase.

Or, if you're ready for another style, return your box using the free shipping label and reusable envelope you got with your shipment. Shortly after, you'll get a brand new box of jewelry to enjoy!

This box was sent to us at no cost for review. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes.)

Rocksbox Rental Jewelry January 2020 Review

Here's the info booklet that came with the jewelry set. It includes a product list with retail and member-specific pricing.

They also included a handy jewelry care card.

A free return shipping label is also at the bottom of the box.

FYI: The outer envelope that Rocksbox ships inside doubles as a return shipping envelope! Be careful as you cut it open—there's a second adhesive strip that can be used to reseal the envelope for its trip back.

Each jewelry item comes tucked inside its own protective pouch that can also be used as a polishing cloth.

Aster Dahlia Hoops - Listed Value $65.00, Member Price $55.00

I absolutely LOVE these hoops! I don't usually wear larger metal hoops because they feel very much out of my comfort zone, but pearls are my jam! These earrings combine these two elements into such a cool look. Though they are big, they are really lightweight and I think the freshwater pearls are so organic and interesting.

Sophie Harper Heart Charm Huggies - Listed Value $39.00, Member Price $33.00

I really like wearing huggie-style earrings because they are really light and fun to layer. These lil' hearts are a style I would totally wear all the time because they are a little twee, but also polished. They were larger than I expected, but I actually think this is a good thing because the heart charm is such a pale blush that if it were smaller it might go unnoticed.

SLATE Cambria Cuff - Listed Value $65.00, Member Price $55.00

I don't know how someone who adores cute things and hearts is also obsessed with snake jewelry, but here we are! This thin, adjustable bangle has a few strategically placed crystals that give this bangle the right amount of sparkle. I think choosing green for her eyes was a great design move because it makes the piece feel extra special.

The Verdict: All of my pieces this month were again from my Rocksbox wishlist which is always a great feeling! I loved them all, though those hoops were the faves this month. I wasn't sure if I would like the style, so it was nice to try them out before buying into the look. The huggies were also perfection and just cute enough without feeling juvenile. Of course, I loved the bangle, and those little green snake eyes were presh!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Every box is different and packed based on the customer's tastes and what's available at the time. You can, however, give the Rocksbox stylists a nudge by adding your favorite pieces to your wishlist!

Value Breakdown: Rocksbox membership costs $21.00 per month. At retail, the three pieces would cost me $169.00. With my Rocksbox discounts and the member pricing (including the buy-all-three-items discount, my $20 worth of Forever Credit that I have on my account, and the $21.00 of Shine Credit [the membership fee for the month, which goes towards your purchases]), and the $10 buy-all-three discount, that price drops to $92.00.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I love this box. I am on my second month and third box. I am also going to buy my fourth item. I like how you can test out the jewelry and return what you don’t want.
