Ipsy is a monthly beauty and makeup subscription box. Each month you get full-size or deluxe-sized products, plus a cute makeup bag.

This is one of Liz’s top recommendations if you are looking for a subscription box - the value and sample sizes are amazing. (Check out our list of the best beauty boxes for 2020 and our reviews of Cheap Subscription Boxes for more recommendations!)

(FYI – Just like Birchbox, Ipsy sends out many different variations of their bag each month – so my review is just one of the bag variations you might receive!)

My Subscription Addiction pays for this subscription. (Check out the review process post to learn more about how we review boxes).

My Ipsy Glam Bag February 2020 Review

Included is a card detailing each of the items.

Each month, Ipsy subscribers get a makeup bag in addition to their items. This month features a quilted blush velvet outside and a deep pink inside.

Murad Renewing Eye Cream, 0.14 fl oz - Estimated Value $22.96 (Buy the full-size 0.5 fl oz for $82.00)

I have to admit that this is like, the world's tiniest tube. Especially for that estimated value I calculated above. I will say, in the tube's defense, a little bit of this goes a very long way, meaning you will get lots of use from this little guy, unless you lose it before you can use it, because it is SO small. This heavier formula feels incredibly luxe on that sensitive under-eye skin. Filled with peptides that help reduce fine lines, this is a really nice eye cream for any routine.

Single Eyeshadow in 'Headliner' from the IBY Headliner Palette, 1.5 g - Buy the full palette here for $20.00

In addition to being so little and cute, this shadow is also a great shade for anyone. Picture a smoky mink with a bronze shimmer, and that is pretty close to what this shade is. It has the right mix of pink, brown, and purple to be very versatile when combined with others, or stand solo in a minimal smoked out look. The blending is smooth as butter too!

Super smooth!

Micho Beauty Nail Polish in 'Lacquer of Love', 10 ml - Full Size! Retail Value $20.00

This was a very pretty color of polish, but I found it a little unruly to work with. Admittedly, I have nightmare baby-sized nails and dark shades can be extra work, but I still felt like this stuff was sliding all around my nails and collecting into my edges. It took 2 coats to get it firmly out of "jelly" territory too. I imagine if you have longer nails (or just a little more hand-eye coordination) you might like this more than I did.

A super shiny finish on a super messy application.

MŌDA Pro Accentuate Brush - Retail Value $7.99

Hello, brush! Welcome to my collection. I had a few others from this line, so this was a nice addition. The medium shape is great for adding in precision highlight shimmer to the tip of your nose and cheekbones. The synthetic bristles are nicely dense, and I love the waterproof plastic handle.

Perfumed Hand Essence in Magnolia, 1.01 fl oz - Retail Value $3.99

Our last item was a mini tube of hand cream. I liked the texture, but not the scent which was a wee bit too sweet and girly for my tastes. It reminds me of the super fun perfumes like Marc Jacobs Daisy or something in that vein.

Verdict: I wasn't really feeling this month's Ipsy Glam Bag as much as I usually do, which is a bit unusual for me. I feel like I have gotten used to liking nearly every product and I am more than a little spoiled. This month certainly wasn't bad, but I didn't love the nail polish or the hand cream. The remaining products were all great, but there wasn't a lot of excitement happening for me this time. I am sure next month will be better!

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Possibly! As of publication, there was no Ipsy waitlist. Check here to see what month you’ll get first.

Good to Know: Ipsy sends out variations. You may get a completely different bag than me.

Value Breakdown: At $12 for this box, each of the 5 items (not including the makeup bag) has an average cost of $2.40.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I was loving my Feburary glam bag, I know a lot of people haven’t been enjoying theirs but to be fair these last couple months have been my favorite! I’m kind curious if your monthly pick has anything to do with the rest of your bag? Because since we’ve been given a choice of one product, I’ve been getting more products suited for me.

Hi Sheyenne! I don’t make choice selections for this subscription. Whatever comes is a complete surprise!

I don’t think the MSA reviewers pick a choice item—just receive a bag based solely on the subscriber’s profile.

My bag was so boring for February. I did not get any color unless you count a black mascara and foundation sample! Eye cream, face cream, and primer!! What’s up with that?? Bring on the nail polish, lipsticks and blushes!

I would have loved this bag!!!

Right! This is an AWESOME bag – would have used everything in it! Unfortunately, I got a primer I won’t use and some other forgettable face care…

I got the Headliner shadow, too. I like IBY’s formula, & I love their little colored clamshell packaging on all their samples. I just wish Ipsy wouldn’t send the same shades over & over. I already have this (and the full-size palette it comes from).

I ordered the hand essence as an add on and I am happy that I did. I live the scent of magnolia so no issue there. What really made it an awesome product for me was how long the scent and the softness of my hands lasted. I hand fed my dogs forgetting I had put this on and washed my hands and then dribbled gravy all over my hand and had to wash it again and the scent and silky feeling still lasted for hours.

I got it as an add on, too, and love it.

I got the Murad and I wa excited because I have the serum. The sample is super teeny tiny, but at least it’s not a tiny 4mls in a 10ml tube. I’m not thrilled with it at all. I’m mid 40’s and it doesn’t seem to have any lasting power. Maybe this will fair better during the rainy season.

I think the Mischo polish is technically listed as a deluxe sample, it’s 10ml and the “Full Size” is 11ml. They must’ve made cheaper packaging for Ipsy or something, but I still really love mine!!
The seam on the ball is a little off-putting on mine, it’s super prominent and wrecks the look a bit. It’s just not as luxe-looking and I had wanted, but still adorable! I found the formula quite nice, but I do have really long and wide nails!

I love seeing what everyone else gets in their Ipsy bags! Excited to see what next month’s choice is too!!

Oh weird! I didn’t even notice. 10ml vs 11ml seems so odd for a sample size.. just give me the whole thing!

I was so happy to hear this and that it didn’t preform that well. Not that I’m happy you didn’t like it, it’s just that I wanted this polish sooooo bad. I was so bummed. I get nail polish almost every month (which I appreciate) and February had three gorgeous ones and I didn’t get any of them! Thanks for making my FOMO more bearable, ladies!
