Target Spa Advent Calendar Review - Holiday 2019

Some of the windows on this advent calendar opened perfectly, and others didn't want to open, or opened with no product behind them because they had slipped into a different position. Good to know, if you are only opening this day by day.

Mini Bath Bombs, 2 ct

These bath bombs are truly small- if you're an adult using this advent calendar, you might find just one of these bath bombs to be a bit of a letdown when you actually drop it in the tub. They didn't really have a scent, and they didn't have enough power to change the color of my bathwater.

Lychee & Peach Nectar Bath Salts, 0.71 oz

Ginger Blossom Bath Salts, 0.71 oz

Gardenia Fig Bath Salts, 0.71 oz

Peony & Rosewater Bath Salts, 0.71 oz

I liked the lightly floral scents of these bath salts, but there simply wasn't enough product in one bag to adequately perfume an adult-size bath. I also wish Epsom salts were included in the ingredients list instead of just plain sea salt.

Lychee Infused Face Mask, 0.34 oz

Rose Oil Infused Clay Face Mask, 0.34. oz

I like individually packaged masks like these because they are perfect for tossing in a toiletries bag for self-care while I travel. I really liked the lychee mask in particular, as it had a texture similar to runny blue jello that felt cooling to my skin and left it more hydrated.

Mango Mimosa Body Mist, 0.5 oz

I am a fan of both mangos and mimosas, so I am kinda bummed that this scent only appeared as a body mist rather than a lotion or bath bomb. The staying power on this wasn't super intense, and I actually liked using this as a light hair perfume for a nice twist to my regular routine.

Peony & Rosewater Body Wash, 1 oz

I really liked the delicate floral scent of peony and rosewater in this body wash, and I ended up using it as a bubble bath. It didn't create an insane amount of bubbles, but it worked well and added a boost of scent that the bath salts on their own were lacking.

Eucalyptus Blended Essential Oil, 0.17 oz

I don't diffuse essential oils to be on the safe side with Duchess in the house, but I like to add a few drops of eucalyptus essential oil to running bath water or the floor of a shower to give some of that refreshing zing I love about the scent. Eucalyptus is actually one of my all-time favorite scents, so I will make good use of this oil.

Lychee & Peach Nectar Hand Cream, 1 oz

Is it a spa-themed box without hand cream? I'll leave that answer to the professionals, but a hand cream is actually where I don't want a super-strong scent, so this performed well for me while adding a bit of moisture to my always-dry hands without leaving them greasy.

Verdict: I love the idea of having a different bath or spa item for every day leading up to Christmas, but a gumball-sized bath bomb or a teaspoon of bath salts that lack in fragrance doesn't really scream "treat yourself." I think this would be a good option for children who want to have some fun with bath time, but if you're an adult I say splurge on something a little nicer than this.

To Wrap Up:

I am a staunch believer that pineapple doesn’t belong on pizza and when I’m not working as a family law attorney I enjoy hiking the Louisiana trails (alligator sightings are a favorite!) or relaxing with Duchess, my cat. I’m a sucker for anything labeled a mystery box and I’ve never met a bath bomb I didn’t like.

Another bomb by Target boxes! And I don’t mean a bath bomb 🙁

I saw a bunch of these at Target last night for 70% off. Along with some other gift sets.

The amount of plastic waste involved in such a crappy product is really sickening as well.

My local Target had all their Christmas gift sets including this one for half price Saturday.

the small bombs and bath salt packets would probably make a nice foot soak, if someone happened to already purchase this before reading 🙂
