The Fortune Cookie Soap Box is a monthly subscription that offers bath and body products centered on a new theme each month. Each month FCS will create new products to fit that theme, and then will offer up the extended collection for sale later in the month.
They recently offered a pre-order for their limited edition 12 Days of Christmas Advent Calendar.
FYI - this box is no longer available for purchase.

Fortune Cookie Soap 12 Days of Christmas Box Review
This box came with a sheet detailing the scents featured in the box.
Day 1: French Babes Deodorant
Starting off the 12-day experience was this small deodorant, which is scented with plumeria, papaya, lychee, and hibiscus. The floral, fruity scent wasn't overpowering at all (which I prefer), and this didn't irritate the skin under my arms.
Day 2: Wet Bandits Dual-Phase Perfume Oil
Ahhh, the Wet Bandits. If you have never seen this movie series, which I strongly suggest you do, the Wet Bandits are the main antagonists in this story (though considering the McAlister family dynamics, I hesitate to call them the only antagonists), and this perfume oil named after them features strawberry, black currant, amber, and tobacco. I liked the way that the tobacco balanced the sweeter strawberry and black currant, and while I don't reach for perfume oils often, at least this one will look pretty sitting on my vanity.
Day 3: Blowtorch Liquid Fire
The blowtorch is one of the most iconic boobytraps that Kevin rigs up to defend his home, and this is a new product I haven't tried from FCS before. This provides a mild warming sensation to help with aches and pains, and when I tried this out on a fresh bruise it definitely provided some relief.
Day 4: You Little Trout Sniffer Toilet Spray
I appreciate a good toilet spray, though it feels like I get them more frequently than I can use them. This is scented with evergreen, vanilla, peppermint creme, and cranberry, and I wish this fragrance blend was actually in a body lotion because I enjoy it so much.
Day 5: I’m Eating Junk & Watching Rubbish Body Frosting
The body frostings from FCS are the richest body creams I have come across in my subscription box reviewing, making them perfect for the dry parts of my skin that get easily irritated, like my inner elbows. This does leave a bit of a greasy finish, but when my skin is so dry it feels itchy, this is the product I want to reach for. The scent blend on this is marshmallows, hot cocoa, and warm snickerdoodle cookies, and while that is perfect for a product with the word "frosting" in the name this fragrance was a tad too sweet for me.
Day 6: Boobytraps Hand & Body Lotion
I am a big fan of this lotion! The scent really gives me holiday vibes with notes of allspice, vanilla, winter ale, and nutmeg. This absorbed into my skin easily, and it left no residue.
Day 7: Old Man Marley Scent Diffuser
I love the story arc of Old Man Marley in the first movie, so I am happy that he got his own product in this box. These scent diffusers have been appearing frequently since their first release a few months ago, but they are handy- I used this one to lightly scent my clothes in my luggage while I was traveling. This has notes of holiday fruits and holly berries, birchwood, patchouli, and vanilla. I liked the earthy scent a lot for refreshing my clothes as they traveled with me.
Day 8: This is My House Carpet Deodorizer
This scent was another winner for me! I actually haven't used it on my carpet yet, but I thought it worked well to neutralize some staleness when I pulled out my suitcase, and it added a light fragrance of citrus, apple cider, and mulled cranberry wine.
Day 9: A Lovely Cheese Pizza Bath Bomb
All Kevin wanted before his family left on vacation was some plain cheese pizza, and it took being left behind and raiding Buzz's life savings in order to have a slice of lovely cheese pizza all to himself. This bath bomb has a lovely fragrance of sweet, crisp apples and sparkling wine, and I love that the front looks like a cheese pizza while the back has a rainbow assortment of colors.
Day 10: Kevin! Hyaluronic Acid Gel Cream
Hyaluronic acid is such a great skincare ingredient for adding moisture to the skin (just make sure that if you live in low humidity areas you follow with a more occlusive cream or a facial oil to make sure that hydration is locked in. There is science behind this, but I don't fully understand it). This moisturizer also contains glycerin and rice bran extract along with essential oils to give it the light rosemary mint and vanilla oak scent and this had a lightweight formula that worked well as a morning moisturizer for me.
Day 11: Buzz, Your Girlfriend... Woof! Tousle Tamer
This was another new product I haven't tried from the brand, but unfortunately, I don't have a use for hair gels like this one. It does smell lovely with notes of banana cream, lemon zest, and sugared peaches, and I am sure I will find a friend who can give this a loving home.
Day 12: Fortune Cookie Soap Travel Mug
This FCS-branded travel mug is the item that you (in theory, if you're not writing a review or have the patience to do it day by day) unwrap on Christmas day, and it is perfect for keeping some apple cider hot while you go for a walk around the neighborhood after a filling Christmas feast. I will never be mad about receiving practical items like these, and I like that the branding isn't ostentatious.
The Verdict: Unlike last year, I knew this box was Home Alone themed, and I even watched Home Alone and Home Alone 2 to prepare myself for this box. These scents were Advent Calendar exclusives that will only be available through Create-Your-Own events outside of this box, and that adds a really fun twist to an already great box. Value-wise, Fortune Cookie Soap promised a value of at least $150, and I think they safely met that based on my experience in reviewing this brand (it has been for more than a year of reviewing this box specifically, and two as an MSA reviewer- where does the time go?). I thought as a whole this box was thoughtfully curated and very fun, and I will always recommend their limited edition boxes (I believe the next one will be for Easter!).
To Wrap Up:
Can you get this box if you order today? No. this was a limited edition box available through a pre-order sale only.
Value Breakdown: This box costs $55 + free shipping, which means that each of the 12 items in the box has an average cost of $4.48.
