FaceTory 7 Lux December 2019 Review

Now on to the masks!

Elakoko Noni Enriched Nourishing Mask - Retail Value $3.50

I really loved this sheet mask. It smells somehow like green things and a little like leather?? In a great way! It was packed with a clear watery serum and the mask itself was one of those super sheer types. It did leave my face sticky, but I didn't care because my skin felt so calm and soft. A little moisturizer absolutely helped with any tackiness too.

Betterskin Premium Antioxidant Biocellulose Sheet Mask - Retail Value $9.00

This mask was one of those cellulose gel types and it arrived securely between two mesh sheets that made it easier to apply. It had a stronger medicinal type scent, and while it wasn't terribly wet, it was very clingy and fit my face well. This was one of those masks that has volcanic ash inside, so I feel like it probably was great for helping purify my pores without being super drying. My skin didn't feel that different after removal, but it looked happier and dewier.

Cosmetea T5 Nourishing Tea Ampoule Mask - Retail Value $3.50

This mask left me feeling super sticky, so I was happy I used it before bed. It has a heavy clear serum inside, and lots of it! The mask material itself is a thicker cotton, but it still fit just fine. This formula contains tea extract, which I generally get really pumped about and I found that aside from the stickiness, it was super hydrating and calming. I just had to apply loads of night cream to feel comfortable after removing it!

ID Plascosmetics ID.AZ Dermastic Bright-Fit Mask - Retail Value $3.00

This mask has a super unique combo of pearl and tomato extracts! Weird and wonderful. The serum is on the creamier, milky side, and the mask fit great. I tend to really like masks with pearl extracts because they give my skin a dewiness I really love and hydration too!

Lassie’el DEEEEP Focus Petit Patch Mask Dark Spot Solution - Retail Value $5.00

I, sadly, really disliked this mask. It started out promising, with these little wafter-style dry patches you apply under your eye before the mask itself. The serum in the mask breaks them down while you wear it. The mask itself was my problem because when I removed it, it left such an unbearable filmy feeling on my skin. I had to wash my face immediately after. I like feeling fresh and hydrated after a mask, but this felt like I had applied cling-wrap to my face.

MediHeal HDP Photoready Charcoal Mask - Retail Value $2.00 (currently sold out)

This was one of those black charcoal cotton sheet masks that I usually find drying, but this one seemed to not be so "charcoaly" if you will! The serum was clear and watery, but absorbed easily. The mask fit my face well and had an immediate calming effect on my skin. I did follow up with a heavier cream just in case it was drying, but that was probably overkill as I found this mask to be exceptionally gentle. While I didn't notice a ton of "tightening" I still really liked this mask.

Galantry Step By Step Tone-Up Mask - Retail Value $6.00

This was a two-part mask with a peeling pad first step. The pad itself felt a little scrubby, which was nice after a long day in a full face of makeup. The mask itself had a soft apple scent that was really pretty, and the clear serum and a great fitting mask combine for a very relaxing experience. The mask itself felt extra cooling on my irritated skin, and I noticed my face was significantly less red when I removed this one.

This month arrived with three bonus products too!

Elishacoy Snail Hydrogel Eye Patch (2 Pairs) - Estimated Value $1.20 (Buy 5 pairs for $3.00)

I love, love, love eye patches! These were on the thinner side and totally coated in a serum with a runny texture. They felt amazing under my eyes and immediately gave that delicate skin extra moisture and brightness.

Huangjisoo Mugwort Rescue Soothing Pads, 10 pack - Retail Value $6.00

This little pack was another big win for me. Inside the resealable pouch are 10 really generously sized pads with a hydrating and calming serum. They are absolutely excellent for my face on days when I have been testing loads of products and my skin is inflamed or just plain angry. It provided instant soothing benefits that tide me over until I can get home and slather heavy cream all over my skin.

Rated Green Cold Press Avocado Nourishing Scalp Pack w/ Avocado - Retail Value $4.00

I don't like scalp packs (they make my roots feel heavy) so I plan on gifting this to a friend who is more into them. I think she will really like the resealable pouch and the super-nutritious mix of avocado and banana extracts will help her hair get stronger as she tries to grow it out.

Verdict: FaceTory couldn't have arrived at a better time for me this month. My skin has been on overload recently! The masks this month seemed to have a wonderful mix of clarifying and moisturizing options, with just a couple coming up short for me personally. I also love that there were three bonus items this month and two of them were totally sensitive and dry skin focused. Month after month I continue to look forward to this box arriving, and I can't wait until next month since my skin will probably be in even more need after the stress of holiday makeup, too much champagne, and whipping cold winter winds.

To Wrap Up:

Can I still get this box if I sign up today? Yes! The December box is still available until 12/31!

Value Breakdown: This box costs $19.90 + free shipping, which means that each of the 10 items in the box has an average cost of $1.99.
