CatLadyBox December 2019 Review

CatLadyBox is always full of fun, cat-themed lifestyle items. Let’s see what was in store for December:

I love how the information cards have custom artwork every month. And the back has more information about the items in the box. This month is the annual holiday box.

Favorite Things Long Sleeve Hoodie - Retail Value $26.99

The shirt styles are always a little bit different and this one is great for winter. It's T-shirt thickness but good for layering when you'll be in and out of doors, like for running errands. I found all of this month's items in the CatLadyBox shop so I've used the values they are selling for there (the larger sizes of this one go for a few dollars more, for what it's worth). Also, sorry I didn't model this for you but I have been sick with a cold for two weeks and I look dreadful right now. Monkey helped me take pictures, though.

Cozy Cat Wrist Warmers - Retail Value $22.99

I have to admit, I don't often wear gloves in the winter because I don't like the loss of dexterity, but then my knuckles get cracked and bloody, and I think these may just solve my problem. These are a tiny bit large on me but I have unusually small hands for an adult, and they do have a fair amount of stretch, so they should work for most people.

Jolly Cats Felt Placemats, set of 2 - Retail Value $9.99

I don't usually decorate for the holidays because I don't have kids and don't typically invite people over. But, these are nice and festive and the kind of small touch that I would appreciate even if no one else saw them. They are actually pretty substantial and even being bent a bit in the box during shipping didn't damage them (I don't see a crease). Also I don't think you have to feel limited to using them during the holidays as there are also other occasions when red is appropriate. (My table doesn't look a lot different from the floor, I am now realizing...)

Meowliday Lights Feather Cat Toy - Retail Value $4.99

When I took this out of the box I knew it would be a hit and I was right. Angus and Sneaky especially enjoyed it. You can see some pictures of them with it below.

Mewdolph the Red-Nosed Cat Catnip Toy - Retail Value $5.99

This is a small catnip plush with a fuzzy texture on the head part and the antlers made of something else. I thought Monkey was going to try to eat the antlers (he does weird things when he's working on a hairball, which he is right now). This is a good size for larger cats to toss around.

Here are some kitty pictures:

Verdict: I calculated a value of about $70.95 for the December 2019 (Crazy) CatLadyBox. The biggest hit from the kitties' perspective was the feather toy, but everything will get used, and these are not really the kinds of items I receive in other subscription boxes (to be fair, I don't really get any lifestyle boxes) so I don't actually have too many placemats, or any fingerless gloves already.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Officially your subscription would start with January’s box, but way back when I signed up, I was contacted to say there were a few of the current month’s box left over and asked if I’d like one of those. So it may be worth inquiring. You can also buy the December box as a one time purchase here.

The best part of the hand warmers? The toe beans on the palm side!

Ragan, great review. Good placemats fir Meowlentine’s day, as the Cat Lady would say.

I think they do a great job of curation, but I wish there was a version of the box they sold that did not have shirts in it. They’re just not something I’d ever use and they make up a large part of the RV.

Would love to swap for the wrist warmers. Follow-up with me if interested.

I live in Phoenix and I have no use for the wrist warmers. Will be selling them! The hoodie and place mats I honestly thought were cheap and tacky. Sorry 🙂 My cats liked the toys though

We don’t have kids, but always decorate for the Holidays. We like the extra glow of the lights in these early evening. We makes sure the cat has some cheer with a festive placemat and cat shaped lights. You do what is best for you, but don’t hold back because you don’t have kids, you are with the effort!

It’s not about holding back, it’s about liberation from extra work.

It’s also about not having any guests, nor any free horizontal surfaces. My bead stash has taken over most of the downstairs and I have recently started collecting vintage Bohemian glassware, which has to stay on the high shelves for cat-related reasons, until such time as I get a proper curio cabinet in which to store it.

I loved this box! My cats went nuts for the catnip moose thing. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for January
