Scentbird Skincare November 2019 Review

Scentbird might already be your go-to for scents each month but when we discovered they also offer skincare as a monthly option? You know I had to sign up!! The skincare options work similarly to the fragrances. Within the shop, simply select the skincare tab and start adding items to your queue.

Here is an example of some of the brands and products. There are limited numbers of each, though they seem to be restocked quite often. In the upper right-hand corner of each image, you can see your upgrade cost which is added to your normal membership price. These upgrades range from $5-15, though some of the less expensive items have no additional charge.

Here is what my queue currently looks like. In my first month of November, I selected the product we will peek at below, but I decided to upgrade to 2 a month starting in December to see how much value I could get out of this sub!

Included was a card with info on Joana Vargas and a coupon code.

And here is our item this month:

Joanna Vargas Daily Serum - Retail Value $85.00

So this expensive, high-end brand has been stalking me around Instagram for quite some time, so I was over the moon to see a few formulas from it available in the Scentbird shop. Joanna Vargas is a celebrity facialist with quite the client list (Naomi Watts, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Julienne Moore, etc!) and she also owns one gorgeous spa. Her facials run from $175-$1200, so her skincare line seems like more than a bargain. This serum is formulated with galactoarabinan, which I have never heard of but is said to promote cell turnover quicker than lactic or glycolic acid, which is really impressive. It also has hyaluronic acid and LOADS of vitamins.

I have just used this for two days now and my skin does look mighty bright. I don't usually apply a serum except at night, so adding a day version seems like a good idea for a skincare junkie! My makeup layers over it beautifully because it absorbs so well.

Verdict: So I basically snagged an $85 serum for $29.95 ($14.95 monthly cost of membership + $15 premium product upgrade). To say I am happy is an understatement. I really like this serum so far and plan on adding more Joanna Vargas formulas to my queue. Fingers crossed they stay in stock! I am also just so impressed with this subscription and the brands offered, I upgraded myself to the 2 products/month tier for even more options and savings.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? Yes, all you have to do is choose this item for your queue. As long as there is still stock at the time of your monthly processing, it's yours!

Value Breakdown: This subscription is $14.95/monthly and my product of choice had a $15 upgrade fee attached, bringing my total cost to $29.95. For an $85 dollar product, this means I saved almost 65%!

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I have been with Scentbird for a few months and I am in love. I have the three products a month option because you cannot beat the value. This serum along with the matching daily hydrating cream and a Narscio Rodriguez fragrance made up my first month. I LOVE this serum and have been hooked on this sub ever since.

They also have an option where you can purchase items from your queue for a discount as a separate purchase from your monthly sub. The more you buy the larger the discount. I believe it’s 5% off the first 3 items, 10% off 6 items, 15% off 9 items and so on. I was worried about items selling out before they came up in my queue so I did a one time purchase and got the Paula’s Choice azaleic acid booster, Paula’s Choice Super-light daily wrinkle defense sunscreen , Supermood Youth Glow Luxury Peel, Glow Recipe watermelon sleep mask, Glow Recipe watermelon pink juice, and Purlisse Blue Lotus 4-in-1 cleansing milk. The discount was amazing. These are all FULL SIZE products. They are not trial or deluxe size. As Megan mentioned above, some items (like this amazing serum) have an up-charge but like she said, you get an $85 product at a 65% discount. You cannot beat that. And there are TONS of items with no up-charge. I have a Saturday Skin product in my queue for no extra charge.

I have found customer service to be stellar as well. I signed up for my first month using a code I found on MSA that gave you your second month free. As soon as I signed up and leaned how it worked and saw all they had to offer I immediately changed to the 3 products a month plan. Doing this made my code wonky and I contacted customer service. It turned out the code was applied correctly but they still gave me an extra $4.95 on my account just to make sure I was satisfied.

I plan on taking advantage of the “buy your queue “ feature for several Christmas gifts. Filling up your queue and changing it around is also super fun and addictive! Shipping does take about 10 days but they have never shipped me anything other than exactly what is in my queue. I have had a few items in my queue sell out but they let you know when this happens so you can adjust.

I know this is a long comment but I truly can’t say enough good things about my experience. I’m actually considering canceling my other subs because since Scentbird offers fragrance (men’s and women’s so I can choose cologne for husband if I want), make-up, skin care, wellness products, bath products, and candles it feels like I can get exactly what I want each month and don’t have to worry about being disappointed which can happen when you have no choice I other subs. Plus, in my opinion, $35 for 3 items is a STEAL.

Scentbird is definitely my favorite sub right now. 😊❤️

I have also had a great experience with this sub. I’ve gotten mostly skincare, 3 items per month. I did buy my queue once when several items were at risk of selling out. I just paused my account because I’ve managed to acquire quite a stash.

When I go onto their site, I only see the sub for fragrances, not skincare. Where do you go for the skincare sub? Thanks@

It’s all the same sub. Once you sign up you can choose from all available products. There is not a separate sub for skincare. And you don’t have to put fragrance in your queue. You can choose all skincare if you like or mix it up between everything they offer. 😊

I can’t find any skincare when I click the links. Only the perfume. Help please.

I have been back with Scentbird for almost a year now and I’m very happy with their selection as well as the ability to pause my subscription.

I selected the two product option from the beginning and have my queue filled out for a year’s worth of product.

So far I have not had any issues and pausing it for two months was a breeze. I do try to check at the beginning of the month to verify my queue and see if I want to make any changes. I tend to bounce back-and-forth between skin care and fragrances. That Joanna Vargas serum was in my queue for December so it’s nice to see it reviewed now.

I actually bought myself an independent sub just for fragrance because I’m an addict! I hope you like this serum as much as I did. 🙂

I’m wary of Scentbird because of their absolutely dreadful customer service during + for months after their warehouse move.

I’ve seen a few people on Reddit mentioning that SB skipped the skincare they had in their queue & randomly sent them the fragrance of the month instead.
