Robb Vices October 2019 Review

Included is a handy booklet with all of our product info. These are always filled with tons of useful info and great images.

Sempli Monti Taste Set - Retail Value $100.00

This is a pretty great start to a beer-themed box. This set of hand-blown crystal beer glasses features a little "mountain" on the base of each glass that helps the beer hit the bottom of your glass in a fashion that is much gentler than traditional glasses and results in a better foam. This set includes 4 different shapes designed with different beers in mind, such as Pilsners and IPAs. I know Will is going to love these because he is a beer enthusiast with a talent for home-brewing. These will help him enjoy his brews at their most ideal!

Robb Vices Coast-to-Coast Brewery Experience Book

First off, I am really shocked there are ZERO PA breweries in this book. What?! I am not even a Pennsylvania native, so I promise I have no skin in the game in terms of "home-state pride". But as an outsider, I can promise that there is a really exceptional brewery scene here. Just sayin', Robb! This is a nice collection of independent breweries across the country, despite this obviously misguided omission. Each brewery mentioned also comes with a voucher for various samples, which might actually come in handy since I will be home in Memphis soon and there is a voucher inside for the local Wiseacre Brewing Company!

Morris Kitchen x Robb Voces Michelada Mix

Full disclosure, I don't enjoy Micheladas. I also don't like Bloody Marys, the Michaelada's beer-based cousin. I am not a spicy fan, and both seem to always include horseradish. If you do tend to enjoy such fare, you will probably be more thrilled by his mixer than I do. If you have never had a Michelada, basically, it is a mix of beer, lime, salt, black pepper, and tomato juice. This mixer makes it fool-proof, just add ice, celery, and, of course, beer! It is a really easy drink to make and arguably super refreshing on a summer day. I will just take mine sans horseradish!

Surprisingly Delicious Matzo Chips, 1 oz - Buy 12 bags for $23.95

I freaking love everything bagels. Something about that mix of seeds, onions, and CARBS is delightful to me. I try not to indulge too often though, because bagels are a lot, especially if you are trying to maintain a diet that is not 90% bread. These matzos might be a great alternative, as they have that everything taste but with fewer calories and more snappy crunch than a bagel. I am into these!

Love Corn Snacks in 'Smoked BBQ', 20 g - Buy 24 bags for $24.99

These were a miss for me. I just spent way too much $$$ on a few crowns and I can't be subjecting my teeth to hard snacks like this. If you like Corn Nuts, you might like these more than I. I will say that the smoked BBQ flavor was very savory. Bonus points for being a vegan snack too!

Truffleist Truffle Mustard, 4 oz - Retail Value $15.00

Oh, boy, do I love truffle anything. I am also a mustard fan, so this was a match made in heaven. You can smell the truffles inside this mustard before you even open the jar. I have used this to make grilled cheeses and even added some to my mac and cheese for a kick! This mustard is a national treasure and I am already dreading when the jar is empty.

Cookies, Crumbs, and Crust Caramel Popcorn - Buy 8 oz for $7.00

Our last item is a bag of delicious caramel popcorn! What makes this batch special is the inclusion of almonds and pecans. Yum! While I would eagerly enjoy caramel popcorn year-round, something about this time of year makes it feel extra festive.

Verdict: I have many feelings about this month's Robb Vices. I mean, the assortment was really nice overall, and I don't want to detract from the individual items, but, frankly, I am really bummed. I mean, I guess the "grain" theme was certainly there between the grains in all the snacks and assumed grains that would go into the alcoholic beverages poured into the glasses. But this month didn't feel that luxe or special, and value-wise, it was not good. Also, I am still really, REALLY missing the bottle of liquor that used to be present in every box. They were always beautifully chosen and unique. This is not an inexpensive subscription, and for the $129.95 cost (before shipping!) I expect a lot more.

To Wrap Up:

Can you still get this box if you sign up today? No. Sign up by the 1st of the month to receive that month's box.

ACTIVE DEAL: Save $50 off your first subscription (LUXURY50) or receive a FREE Altec Lansing ALT-500 Bluetooth Turntable valued at $149 (TURNTABLE.)
CODE: LUXURY50 or TURNTABLE

Value Breakdown: This box costs $144.90 ($129.95 + $14.95 shipping to PA) meaning each of the 7 items has an average cost of $20.70.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

We stopped this box a year ago when we were paying only $60.00 per box and the quality of products dropped off significantly then and it just keeps getting worse!

Mega decline! To say that this box has truly declined in value is an understatement! The Sempli glasses are just beautiful – but…. the EXACT same set was offered in Bespoke Post Box for $45! And if you add in small add’l item to your order – at $50 shipping is free with Bespoke!

So… it can be inferred that you just paid approximately $100 for mustard, Michelada mix and couple bags of snacks! Even the staunchest supports of Robb Vices have to admit that they have been robbed this month and that the Robb Vices crew is laughing all the way to the bank!
