  1. Ugh, I’m trying to buy the nail polish kit and some other things and it’s only taking 30% off not 40%. IDK what’s going on.

    • im having the same issue

      • I had my cart stacked last night and when I went to check out this morning, I was also only at a 30% discount and not the original 40%

      • Same here, it says 40 at the top of the sale screen but 30 in the cart.

      • I’m having the same issue. Is the sale over and they haven’t updated the sale page to say so? Very frustrating.

    • Same here! Also doesn’t let me get 2 gifts as described in the review.

    • So I texted them and they got back to me on Saturday morning, they said they would have their technical team fix it and I could buy it and get the extra 10% refunded. But when I go to the sale page it says it’s actually 30% off now, not 40% like before, so I doubt that would work out well. IDK what was going on, but it looks like they either just changed it to 30 so people would stop complaining or the sale ended.

  2. Nvm sales over and no FOMO here , there collection are usually super tiny sizes , I’d never pay full price . But thanks for heads up – pass

    • I just ordered, so sales not over yet.

  3. When is this sale over ? Thanks

    • Today is the last day

    • It’s still active, but they do not give an end date.

  4. OMG! Awesome! I was able to get
Clarins Double Serum Complete Age Control Concentrate and a Clarins Tonic Body Treatment Oil. Both were in the sale! I’m an Ace so 40% off + extra 25% off. Got the this works deep sleep bath soak as my freebie, and mystery samples for $76.36. ALL stuff I wanted and use! YEAH!!!!

  5. I bought the Ready for Takeoff kit and it was showing 40% off during checkout, but when I received the invoice, they charged me the full price! I’m so upset.

    • You should use their chat feature to have them adjust the price. I have done this in the past. I used my points to apply to my purchase, but when it went through, it didn’t show points applied. I contacted them through chat and they applied points to my purchase and gave me a refund

      • I didn’t see the chat feature as an option but I ended up scheduling a call with them (call never connected) and emailing with them. They tried to tell me the sale was for 30% off initially, even though the sale page still says 40%! Not sure what they’re trying to pull, but I pushed back and ended up getting the full 40% refunded to me. This was such a pain that I’m very hesitant to buy from Birchbox again.

    • Same happened with me.. I was also charged full price ☹️ never buying from birchbox again

      • It’s a pain but they will refund the difference if you get in touch with them. If live chat isn’t an option for you, scheduling a call seems to work best. They haven’t looked at the text I sent them and the first couple of emails I sent got no replies.

At least, I assume they’ll refund the difference. I haven’t gotten a confirmation email yet. I figure worst case scenario I can dispute the charge with my credit card company. I agree though, never buying from them again. It’s not worth the hassle.

      • I don’t see the chat option available these days. I did schedule call with them eventually. Had to do it twice to get the call and they said they will refund. Looks like they did this to many people. The customer rep on the call told me they are having some issues

  6. I’m so glad I saw this! I just got all the stocking stuffers for my daughter and mom on one order for less than $30!

  7. Thanks Liz! I got the same two kits you showed in your example, plus the mystery gift and the 6 piece bestseller (Treat2). So excited!

  8. I got the complete essentials grooming kit for my dad.

  9. Thanks for the heads up Liz. I am falling short of $1 for free shipping.. haha

  10. I had been eyeing that beautiful Coral Kit for MONTHS, but didn’t want to pay full price. The sale knocked it down to $24 plus tax, and then I had points from swapping out the November box (nothing looked enticing) and the points they gave me as compensation for ruining the Curated Box 2 deal in October. Bottom line, I got the gorgeous Coral Kit and the two mystery samples for $12.76!!!! Yay! Also got 2.5% cash back on the purchase.

  11. OMG, take all my money now!

    • They did, Nat, they literally just got a bunch of my money lol Awesome deals!

  12. Cool! I have been wanting to try one of the Dr. Jart rubber masks so I bought the mask set. Great deal- thanks for the heads up!

  13. What is the Ace discount?

  14. Great job working those discounts Liz! Love the hacks 🙂

  15. And just a note that Aces get an additional 25% off purchases of $30 or more! The total discount on sale items is 55% for Aces. 🙂

    • Teri, I don’t think the 25% off Ace discount applies to the sale section. Are you able to get it to work?

      • I don’t think it will work either. I placed an order a few days ago when both promos started, and I did not get the 25% off since I was buying the sale kits.

I also question whether I will get the freebie with purchase (not the mystery sample pack). It was in my order as you showed in your screenshot, but was not in the packing list in my email. I guess I will find out when I receive my items!

      • Hmm, it looks like it works … I just added The Skincare Fundamentals Kit and The Inside & Out Body Kit to my cart, along with the mystery sample pack and gift with purchase. The subtotal is $54, the discount is $34.20, and the total is $19.80 plus tax. The note under Discount says: “VIP Free Shipping, Free Sample Pack with $35+ Purchase, Spend $35+, get a free Acure Brightening Mask Duo, Shhh! ACES—We’ve given you early access to our Black Friday deal. Get 25% off $30 for a limited time., Sale! Additional 40% Off Select Items for Aces.” Not sure why it’s working, but I’ll take it!

      • I did notice that the discounts weren’t working properly for several items for a few days, including the limited edition boxes. Some discounts are working now, but others aren’t — for example, I want the Chella eyebrow pencil, but the 40% discount isn’t applying.

      • Did you check the math? I think it might have looked like it applied like you a quoting here, but when I checked the math, there was no additional discount applied on top of the 40%.

      • Good call — let me check. Two sale kits at $22 each = $44. Then $44 minus 40% is $26.40. Then $26.40 minus 25% is $19.80. I think that’s right? (Although I’ve been sitting in a lot of meetings and my head is spinning, so it’s entirely possible that I’m not doing that right!)

    • The extra 25% off stacked with the 40% off sale items in my cart. I think the TREAT3 kit might have sold out, though, because I could not get it to apply but TREAT1 and TREAT2 would. I tried it while having a $75 total after all discounts and it still wouldn’t apply, but the other two codes applied properly as long as my before discount total hit their minimum price threshold.

    • I can confirm as I placed an order a couple of days ago that the 25% discount for Aces does stack on top of the 40% discount on sale items. However, you cannot choose an additional free gift, because it’s one “promotion” per order, and the 25% is considered a promotion, even though it doesn’t require a code.

      • Weird! It let me do both. I was able to add TREAT2 to my cart with the stacked 25% and 40% off promos and it is listed in the discounts section I’m my order confirmation email.

      • Same here. I got my Estee Lauder Doublewear Foundation (which wasn’t even $50) plus 8 samples (the TREAT2 for purchases over $50 and the over $35 mystery sample pack) for $21 (darn CA 10% tax!).

  16. Ugh! I used the coupon for 40% off boxes and so I couldn’t get a freebie GWP… this is such a better deal!

    • Yeah, I was annoyed with that too. Everything you needed the 40% coupon for just moved to the sale section a few days later!
