QVC TILI x Sunsets & Stilettos September 2019 Review

A small change I noticed with this new subscription model is the info sheet has notes about the items and tips on how to use them. Before, the info sheets would usually just include the ingredients of each item.

Carmindy Beauty Into It Eyeliner in Espresso, 0.012 oz - Full-Size! Retail Value $20

This is a basic brown eyeliner in a sea of basic brown eyeliners. There’s nothing wrong with it, but I have received more brown eyeliners from these QVC boxes than I can count, so I wish we had gotten something a little more fun- even a dark navy would be a nice change of pace. The formula was creamy and not dry, and it worked well to add definition to my lash line when I didn’t want a full eyeliner look.

Here it is swatched.

Mally Face Defender, 0.46 oz - Full-Size! Retail Value $37

This was an interesting product I was excited to try- by pressing (not rubbing) the product into your skin with the included sponge, you are setting it much in the way a setting powder would. I could see this being extra helpful on parts of my face that makeup breaks on quickly, like my T-zone, and I appreciate that we received the full-size product worth more than the cost of the box!

QVC September eelemiss

ELEMIS Peptide4 Night Recovery Cream-Oil, 0.33 oz - Retail Value $15

I love the ELEMIS peptide range, and this oil is no exception. It starts off as a milky serum that dissolves into an oil as you rub it in, and my skin absolutely soaks it up.

QVC September too faced

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara, 0.13 oz - Estimated Value $9.94 (Buy the 0.17 oz version for $13)

I feel like this mascara and the tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes mascara are the two most common mascaras in subscription box land, but I don’t love either. This mascara gives me good volume and curl, but it definitely smudges on my face as I wear it throughout the day.

Supersmile Mini-Deluxe Professional Whitening System, 0.42 oz total – Estimated Value $4.31 (Buy a full size here for $80.00)

I got a massive container of the whitening toothpaste in a different box that I am slowly working my way through, and on its own the whitening toothpaste makes a noticeable difference in the whiteness of my teeth. When I add the accelerator, I see even more of a difference. As pricy as this stuff is, I recommend reaching for it if you’re concerned with the whiteness level of your smile.

QVC September purity

philosophy Purity Made Simple One-Step Facial Cleanser, 2 oz - Estimated Value $7.33 (Buy the 8 oz version for $24)

This is a solid, simple cleanser that I have never managed to fall in love with even though I get samples of it all the time. This is great for dry and sensitive skin, and I have a friend that gets all of my purity samples because her easily-irritated skin loves it. There’s nothing *wrong* with it when I use it, I just don’t love it.

NuFACE Prep-N-Glow Cleansing Cloths, 5 ct - Retail Value $10

These cleansing wipes have a smooth side and a studded side for makeup removing and added exfoliation, and I like that the wipes themselves are pretty big so they can take on more makeup. The individual packaging means these are perfect for travel, but I have actually been using them to remove makeup swatches from my arm and I have been happy with the results. My forearm can occasionally be more sensitive than the skin on my face, but these wipes were non-irritating.

QVC September greens

8Greens Effervescent Drink Tablet, 1 tablet - Buy 30 tablets for $39

I will be honest- there is no way I wanted to drink this. I’m not a fan of drink supplements as it is, but then the added fact that this makes the water “fizzy” makes it more unpalatable to me. I tried a sip for it for review's sake, and I did not love it at all. To be fair, if this is something that would work with your lifestyle I would recommend checking it out anyway- it has ingredients like kale, green algae, spirulina, and wheatgrass powder to get your body an added boost of nutrients.

The Verdict: While I am not familiar with Sunsets & Stilettos, I thought they curated a nice box. Along with having a great value ($103.58 by my math, for everything except the supplements), I am happy that we received both full-size and full travel-sized products. I also appreciate that while this is now a monthly subscription, you can see the contents of the box before the next month and decide to cancel if it isn't for you.

Great review. I got this box because I wanted to try Mally face defender. But now we are getting into colder season that my face won’t be as oily… Trying to see if it is better than blotting papers.

That QVC regularly gives out brown rather than the ubiquitous black eyeliner every other box gives out is new and very interesting information to me. It’s actually a point in their favor in my opinion.

QVC used to be about products you could only get on QVC. Now they’re a warehouse for hundreds of beauty brands that you can simply get from the brand’s website. They don’t push their exclusive brands anymore, and I consider it a shame. I’d love to see a box of the exclusive brands only.

Do you think it is even possible for QVC to put out a TILI box WITHOUT a Philosophy cleanser, just for a change?
