Ecocentric Mom September 2019 Review

Normally we receive a little card that includes a link to this page where we can filter by age to see the products from our box, but this month mine was missing, or maybe they have decided to eliminate them from the box? This page is great to check out if you are considering this subscription as you can see what items you might receive in another age group.

Kid-O Bubbimals - Estimated Value $5.50 (prices were all over the place on this one, but this sounded like a fair value!)

These bubbles are too cute and my kids absolutely love them! The cat is adorable and I love that the wand is in the shape of a little mouse- such a fun surprise when you open them. The large head becoming the handle for the wand actually seemed to make it a bit easier for us to use them and the bubbles themselves are good quality (we are expert bubble testers in this home). This cute little bottle can easily be thrown into a purse or diaper bag and pulled out for emergencies!

Moluk Oogi Jr. - Retail Value $9.99 (found here for $8.99)

I love these little Oogi guys! We actually already have a red Oogi just like this one and it is one of our favorite toys that always seems to be around and is so fun to pick up and just fiddle with! His head and feet all feature little suction cups so you can stick this guy to different surfaces or have some fun sticking his parts together. He is also nice and stretchy made from food-grade silicone that is BPA- and phthalate-free. While I do love this toy and I feel comfortable giving it to my 18-month-old to play with, it does say that it is for ages 3 and up, which seems like a slight oversight in a box tailored to your child's age. Although, maybe this is another one for mom since I do enjoy it just as much as the kids do!

Wicked Good Roll-on Perfume in Citron Fig - Retail Value $14.95

I am not a perfume wearer at all but if I were, this would be my signature scent for sure. I absolutely love this Citron Fig blend! The first notes are these tart citrusy ginger notes and then it finishes with this sweet, warm fig scent that I adore. While it’s great to have the rollerball version since it can easily be carried with me in my purse, I am definitely planning to purchase the spray version so that I can douse myself in this daily! This is such a perfectly cozy fall scent that I very much enjoy.

CaribBrew Moisturizing Haitian Coffee Scrub in Coconut Rum, 8 oz - Retail Value $18.00

This scrub is pretty awesome. I love coffee and I love coconut and this stuff delivers both scents fairly strongly. This scrub is so interesting because it is basically like scrubbing with coffee grounds, yet it leaves your skin moisturized and super soft. It contains coffee, brown sugar, coconut oil, and shea butter. This scrub has anti-inflammatory properties and the exfoliation can help improve the appearance of cellulite and stretch marks. This is also a pretty generous-sized jar at 8 oz. and they included a coupon code for 15% off on the lid!

The last items in my box were these two handmade bars of soap from Bear Natural Organics.

Bear Natural Organics Wildberry Clay Wonder Soap Bar, 4 oz. - Retail Value $5.80 (currently on sale for $2.99)

This bar contains coconut oil, shea butter, canola oil, mango butter, clay and charcoal and is wildberry scented. I tried this one on my face and it left my skin feeling very clean. It did actually lather up fairly well and I didn't find it to be especially drying which can sometimes happen with clay and my dry skin. This bar contains red, black, and pink clay all of which were used to provide different benefits. The red is for an astringent cleanse, the black is to beautify and eliminate blemishes, and the pink is for more sensitive skin and can reduce redness and inflammation. I think I will stick to using this on my face and see what it does for my skin!

Bear Natural Organics Rose Clay Geranium and Grapefruit Essential Oil Olive Oil Soap Bar, 4.5 oz - Estimated Value $8.40 (based on similar olive oil soaps on their site)

This next soap contains olive oil, coconut oil, canola oil, and rose clay along with geranium and grapefruit essential oils. This one smells mostly of geranium and olive oil to me. This one left my skin feeling clean as well although to receive two bars of soap felt a bit excessive. Especially in a box that also contained a scrub.

Verdict: While the box went a bit overboard on the soaps and scrubs, this month's Ecocentric Mom box is one that I really enjoyed. I love the coffee scrub and the perfume and the two toys were super cute and unique. Overall, everything felt like great quality and I am estimating our total retail value to be about $62.64 which is pretty great for a $38.99 + free shipping box!

I am a homeschooling mom to 4 kids; 1 girl and 3 boys. While I have been reviewing boxes since 2018 and I love the luxury of trying new products, I'm also balancing it out by dabbling in a little bit of homesteading, too. We now have 4 chickens and a rabbit and my sourdough starter is going strong! I love learning about new brands and sharing the great things I find with others in hopes that they find something new to love or to fit their needs!
