This is a review of the 7 Lux subscription level ($19.90 per month + free US shipping), which includes 7 sheet masks with slightly higher-functioning formulations (think hydrogels and other more sophisticated ingredients).

  • Lux Plus Box ($49.95 per quarter + free US shipping) which includes 5-6 full-size products, and 5-6 masks or specialty items.

FaceTory 7 Lux September 2019 Review

This month, there was a card that lists all of the masks in this month's box, as well as a cute postcard.

Now on to the masks!

FaceTory Perfectly You Steaming Hair Mask - Listed Value $10.00

Ooooh, a hair mask! This is a new one for this sub. I do think that if I had a normal amount of hair, I would have liked this more. I have really thick and long hair, so the serum in this mask really didn't stand a chance. In hindsight, I might have been smarter to just try and use this on the ends of my hair, bypassing my scalp entirely.  What hair it did touch was noticeably softer and had extra shine, though I did think that my roots got greasy faster than normal over the course of the next day.

The Beautiful Factr Peeling Bubble Mask - Listed Value $4.00

Ahhhh I love a bubble mask! This one was PINK. So cute! I love these masks because they bubble and foam the longer you wear them, and I feel like they really open my pores more than other masks. They also look borderline terrifying when they are at peak bubble, which means that I get to Facetime random friends and family which is very amusing! This one had a great clean smell and that pink mask fit my face beautifully! Do you want to see it on? OK!

Some things you can't unsee.

Farm Skin Superfood Salad Tomato Revitalizing Sheet Mask - Listed Value $4.00

I was a little disappointed that this didn't smell like tomato at all, but I guess that might be off-putting to most people. I like weird. It really didn't have a ton of scent at all, but the clear serum was plentiful and very moisturizing. The sheet itself also fit just fine, and though this was not a "Wow!" sort of mask, it was still very enjoyable and left my face feeling great.

Betterskin Volcanic Ash Coated Natural Sheet Mask - Listed Value $3.50

What pretty packaging! I love the pink and yellow and the geometric feel. The mask itself was also pretty great! It has volcanic ash which purifies in a similar way to charcoal, and leaves my pores looking less prominent. The sheet fit well and there was loads of serum. Another noteworthy ingredient here would be the addition of carrot root, which is loaded with antioxidants.

Leaders Insolution Primer Mask - Listed Value $3.00

I have tried primer masks in the past and generally liked them, but this one was kind of a miss for me. The serum was way too watery and just ran down my neck and into my shirt, which was awkward as well as refreshing. It also just left my face absolutely soaked and didn't seem to absorb that well. Previous primer masks I have used left more of a powdery/creamy finish, so this was unexpected.

Ischia Miracle Marine Collagen Corset Mask - Listed Value $5.00

I loved everything about this mask except for the eyehole placement. Are my eyes too close together? Hmm... Anyways, this serum was legit GOOEY and so soft! It featured a marine scent that was very fresh and clean, and the formula is full of hyaluronic acid and collagen, two ingredients that I recommend for glowing plump skin. My face was positively glowing after I peeled this off, though I did have to keep one eye closed through most of the masking process due to a little overlap from the sheet.

Coscodi Ganoderma Stem Real Mask - Retail Value $3.00

This mask had a really comforting earthy scent, which wasn't unexpected for a mask filled with ginseng root and mushroom extracts. The fit was great, the serum was plentiful, and my skin was downright dewy after I peeled it off. I loved it.

This month arrived with TWO bonus products too!

23 Years Old 'Green Myrtle' Handpara Gloves Hand Therapy Ampoule - Listed Value $17.00

So according to the info card, this product would be one of two random scents, either this Green Myrtle or a peony scent. While I was initially sad I didn't get the peony, one sniff of this formula had me hooked. It is sharp and zingy, but it a green and really wonderful sort of way. The ampoule itself is a thicker clear gel and leaves behind a powdery velvet feeling. It absorbs in a flash and is perfect for hands and cuticles. My only complaint is that I want to use it all the time.

PureHeals by Nature Village Propolia 80 Sleeping Pack, 10 ml - Estimated Value $5.50 (Buy a full size 100 ml for $55.00 )

Marne received the full size of this product in her recent FaceTory Lux Plus box and I thought it smelled so good, so I was ticked to see a little sample in my box. There is enough golden jelly inside this package to last you a few nights, and though this pack isn't resealable, I stashed mine in a ziplock bag to keep it fresh. I used this as a last step after my nightly serum and though my skin needs a little more moisture, I still really loved this stuff. I also can't help but think it would feel so good after sun exposure on tender skin with the propolis and aloe soothing redness away.

Verdict: FaceTory was awesome this month! I absolutely loved all of the variety and of course those bonus items. I was more than a little jealous of Marne's awesome FaceTory Lux Plus box, so these added products made this month's box feel extra special. I hope this is a new feature they stick with! This is one of those subscriptions that I don't know what I would do without now that I am used to getting it regularly. My skin would openly revolt without its sheet masks! If you are also a mask fan, this is an easy buy.

To Wrap Up:

Can I still get this box if I sign up today? Yes! It looks like the September box is still available!

Value Breakdown: This box costs $19.90 + free shipping, which means that each of the 9 items in the box has an average cost of $2.21.

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

Thank you for the bubble mask pic. I sent a male friend a pic of me wearing one of those animal face masks once and I have been banned from ever sending him photos again! Lol

Haha! There was an animal mask version that was a PUG and I scared my husband with that one. We have a pug so it was extra troubling.

Great review and thank you for the awesome picture! Lol!
My boys (7,8 and 17) and I have spa night about once a month. We actually started doing them over the last winter when my oldest was dealing with oily, acne prone teenage skin (something that I have been blessed with not really having to deal with myself).
Because their older brother was getting to wear masks, they of course needed to as well.
So now on spa night we have junk for dinner, drink out of the “fancy glasses” and all wear a mask while watching Netflix.
They each have their own favorite type, the 7 year old likes the slice kind (which is great because I’m not a big fan) the 8 year old is happy with whatever is in my backup stash as long as I put it in the refrigerator first. And my oldest absolutely LOVES the bubble masks! (So much that I had a box of skincare I was gifting to a friend and when he saw I had put one in the box he quickly removed it and reminded me those are his lol!)
Our dog is terrified of them. It’s great fun for us all.

Hahaha love the review and the pic! I wish the 4 pack sub would come with a bubble once in a while. I might have to upgrade lol.

Wow this box looks amazing! I feel I’m leaning more towards skincare boxes than makeup boxes (maybe of the size of my collection lol) but this one is mighty tempting and I’m dying to try that bubble mask that kinda frightened me! Haha
