GlobeIn August 2019 "Salud Box" Review

Each box from GlobeIn contains a booklet that talks more about the theme for the box and the items inside. This little booklet is almost as valuable to me as the items inside the box because it gives background on each piece and often gives the names and shows photographs of the artisans who made them! I absolutely love knowing more about each item and the hands that crafted it.

Just a heads up, since there aren't prices listed in the booklet for the items, I'm going off the prices given in this GlobeIn spoilers post for items I couldn't find online. Also worth noting is that there were two box variants this month!

Personal Sangria Pitcher, Morocco - Listed Value $40.00

Measurements: 6.5" H x 7" W

Personal sangria pitcher? I like the sound of that! This pitcher would certainly hold enough to get me feeling relaxed. I love the blue and white palette and the intricate hand-painted embellishments. There is also something very charming about the terracotta-colored interior. Not into your own booze pitcher? It would make a really lovely and delightfully rustic flower vase or water pitcher too!

Set of 6 Tropical Glass Stirrers, Mexico - Listed Value $12.00

Measurements: 8"

CUTE! I absolutely love little drink accessories like this. They help you stir your drink, identify it as yours, and add a ton of personality. This set of 6 includes a light blue starfish, whale, palm tree, cactus (my fave!), parrot, and a dolphin. They are all handblown glass and have those subtle quirks that mark them as something special made by human hands.

Stemless Wine Glass - Green Swirl, Mexico - Listed Value $15.00

Measurements: 4" glass

I like having an assortment of stemless wine glasses close by, especially in the summer. They just feel more durable than ones with those delicate thin glass stems. This one is a pretty swirled green and is made of very thick glass. It feels very sturdy, which bodes well for outdoor summer get-togethers. I feel like it would also be really pretty as a candle holder, though the inside bottom isn't totally flat.

Palm Leaf Fan,  Mexico - Listed Value $15.00

Measurements: 14" L x 9" W

I have been trying to put together some sort of gallery wall in our living room and I have recently started adding a few woven pieces because all frames just looked too sterile. I think I might also try to incorporate some of my favorite baskets too! This fan would be a perfect addition to that mix. I really like the different shades of palm leaves chosen and the round shape. I might add a colorful tassel to the end for some extra flair!

Kinda like this sort of vibe. I have quite a few baskets at this point and this seems like a gorgeous way to display them, but mixed in with pieces like my new fan and some sentimental objects and photos. Do you display your pieces in unique ways?

Dried Fair Trade Mangoes by Level GroundColombia - Listed Value $7.00

Mmm, is there any flavor more summery than mango? Ok, maybe coconut, but I don't like coconut, so mango takes the prize! These dried strips are just the way I like them: no sulfates, no added sweeteners, and no artificial orange color. This bag has 3 mangos inside and they made a perfect afternoon snack. It was really difficult to not eat the entire bag in one sitting!

The Verdict: GlobeIn was full of tasty and beautiful items this month. I love pitchers and always have them all over the house filled with flowers or some sort of juice/booze when we have company. The inclusion of the adorable stirrers was perfect for a summer box and I look forward to sticking them in mixed drinks when we have guests. The stemless glass was very pretty and will get a ton of use. I am really excited to utilize the palm fan in my living room decor, especially since it will add a perfect touch and I never would have thought to buy one myself. Finally, you will never hear me complain about mango treats!

I love natural/vegan beauty products, Korean skincare, unique jewelry, and weird candies from far away places. When I am not waiting for my next exciting box you can find me painting or taking photographs of interesting people. I never leave home without pug hair somewhere on my shirt and a bold lipstick on my smile.

I just signed up this month and my first box will be the Delish Ice Cream Box. I love that you get to pick between several different boxes!

I kinda like the fact you don’t always get two glasses of the same. If you get a lot of different ones then when you have guests over there is no confusion on who’s is who’s. everyone gets a different color of glass!

But I’ve never been to picky about things matching. I’m the one that tries to get one set in every color of fiesta ware.

I’m excited about my journey into Globein, I’m going to drop a lot of my monthly beauty boxes for a while and try to use what I have now.

I agree with the comment about one glass. I will skip any box that offers only one, especially when the “add-on” glasses sell out immediately. I know the boxes are intended to help third-world entrepreneurs, but there needs to be better curation as an incentive to buy the box.

Megan thank you for such a great spin on the receipt of one glass (I know you didn’t mention it specifically) and the idea to use it as a votive holder! I have stalked this box for a while now and always seem to decide I love it after the reviews, lol. I think that basket wall is a great idea and please show us if you decide to go for it. As always, a stellar review.

Pamela

So one glass now instead of a set? Is this the new norm? I’d rather lose the fan (at the same price) and get another glass.
